Whitney Houston Death: One Year Later

The music world lost an all-time great one year ago today. Whitney Houston passed away from a drug overdose inside a hotel room on Grammy Awards Sunday in 2012, leaving behind her a troubled teenager and a legacy that may never be matched. Whitney Houston National Anthem: The Best Ever In the 365 days that have passed since Whitney left us, daughter Bobbi Kristina has battled her own personal demons, while Houston’s family has signed in to star in a reality show. Elsewhere, Cissy Houston just released a memoir about her child and contestants on singing shows such as The Voice and American Idol continue to honor the star by covering her best-known tracks. There were an incredible number of them. Rest in peace, Whitney Houston.

The Walking Dead: Record Ratings for AMC!

Not even two months off the air can slow down The Walking Dead . AMC’s smash hit drew a ridiculous 12.3 million viewers last night, easily setting a record for the largest audience to ever tune in for a scripted cable drama. Moreover, 7.7 million of those viewers were in the advertiser-friendly 18-49-year-old demographic, a figure that would beat nearly ever series on network television. “When you look at numbers like this, the first thing that comes to mind is how grateful we are to the fans of this show. They embrace ‘The Walking Dead’ in a way that we wanted to believe was possible but we never take for granted,” said Charlie Collier, AMC’s president. “The cast and crew put everything they have into making this show. They’re a phenomenally talented group who truly give their all. We congratulate everyone involved.”

Kim Kardashian was too busy posing like Jesus Christ this weekend to attend to Grammy Awards, as she and baby daddy Kanye West are spending time in Brazil. But the Internet still works there, enabling Kim to Tweet a response to West earning a trio of trophies last night. “Awww just waking up in Brazil, seeing Kanye won 3 Grammy’s last night!!! That makes a total of 21!!!!” Kardashian wrote. “Soooo proud!!!” Kim also found time to film a video of herself in South America, showing off the sights, talking to the camera and saying hello to… Will Smith?!?
