Gwyneth Paltrow "Pressured" Chris Martin to Dump Jennifer Lawrence, Source Claims

Earlier this week, we learned that Jennifer Lawrence and Chris Martin broke up after four months of dating. Initially, it was reported that Lawrence was the one to end things and Martin was completely blindsided by the news. No cause for the split was given, but it was widely assumed that video of Martin on a dinner date with Gwyneth Paltrow had prompted Lawrence to call it quits. Now, however, sources close to the couple are claiming that Martin was the one to dump Lawrence, and he did so at the insistence of Paltrow: “Gwyneth wasn’t surprised by it,” a source tells Radar Online. “She never thought the relationship was going to last because of their age difference.” “Plus, Jen complained to Chris that she felt like the third wheel in their relationship because of all the time he spent with their kids.” “Gwyneth always pressured Chris to spend more time with [his children] Apple and Moses. The kids would constantly call Chris when he was with Jennifer and whatever he was doing would have to come to a standstill.” Ah, so Gwinnie picked up on the fact that J-Law wasn’t crazy about the idea of having two ridiculously-named stepkids at the age of 24, so she pressured Chris to spend more time with his children than ever! Very clever – but then, what else would we expect from a woman who’s openly been an elitist snob for years, yet still somehow has a movie career? Gwyneth is good. Except when she’s flirting with the president , then she’s just so, so bad and embarrassing. Anyway, Paltrow is clearly some kind of evil genius if she got Martin to give up all this: 24 Hottest Jennifer Lawrence Photos 1. Hot Jennifer Lawrence Picture Wow. That’s the only word that’s really necessary when gazing upon this Jennifer Lawrence photo.

Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard: "Covenant Marriage" Details Revealed

When Jill Duggar and Derick Dillard got married back in June, no one was surprised. After all, they’d been “courting,” and – under the rules of the Duggar family – unless something extreme and unforeseen happens, courting leads to marriage. It was also not exactly a shock when Jill Duggar got pregnant shortly after the wedding. After all, for the Duggars marriage – and life – are about making babies. Jill Duggar Baby Bump Photos 1. Jill Duggar Baby Bump: 18 Weeks! Jill Duggar is just about 18 weeks along. Here’s a beautiful shot of her baby bump as she appears on Extra with husband Derick Dillard. So everything about Jill and Derick’s union is exactly as it should be, but there’s still one part of the marriage that may surprise some Duggar devotees: It seems the Dillards took a special kind of vow and are now in a type of marriage that’s only legal in three states. Don’t worry, it’s nothing scandalous. In fact, Jill and Derick entered into a sort of super-union that legally amounts to a sort of marriage on steroids. For the unfamiliar – a covenant marriage is designed for those rare couples who believe a regular marriage doesn’t have enough rules and restrictions. Under the terms of a covenant marriage, a couple must undergo counseling before they get married and again if they decide to divorce. Divorces are extremely rare in covenant marriages, because it’s incredibly hard to get one and they’re granted only in cases of adultery, crime, or abuse. “I signed their covenant marriage certificate,” said Derick’s mother, Cathy, in a recent interview. “But it wouldn’t matter if those two chose that type of marriage certificate or not, those two would still have a covenant marriage.” Jill is the first of the Duggar girls to walk down the aisle, but most likely all of her sisters will be entered into covenant marriages at some point. That is, if they ever free Jana Duggar and let the girl have her own life!!! Sorry, we get a little carried away on the topic of Jana. Jana Duggar Photos: So Beautiful, So Maligned 1. Jana Marie Duggar Jana Marie Duggar is so beautiful … and put upon, supposedly, by a family that relies on her to help take care of the others but never have a life of her own. If that’s true, it’s sad. Is it time for her to break free?

Obama Tax Rate Falls to 18.4 Percent in 2012

U.S. President Barack Obama paid an effective federal tax rate of 18.4 percent in 2012, down a bit from the year before, when he earned more money. The President and Michelle Obama reported adjusted gross income of $608,611 last year, a drop from $789,674 in 2011, and paid $112,214 in total taxes. That came out to an effective 18.4 percent rate , compared to $162,074 in taxes paid, or 22 percent of their $844,585 income the previous year. Times are tough for book sales! The Obamas’ income consists of his salary as President and royalties from his two books, which have fallen greatly from his pre-White House days. He reported earnings in the seven figures as recently as 2009. Last year, Barack and Michelle Obama reported giving $150,034 to various charities, representing roughly 25 percent of their adjusted gross income. Their largest gift was $103,871 to the Fisher House Foundation, an organization that provides housing for military families near military hospitals. In addition encouraging healthy lifestyles among youth, Michelle Obama has made supporting the military one of her top public causes as first lady. Meanwhile, Vice President Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, reported adjusted gross income of $385,072 and paid $87,851 in total federal taxes last year.  Obama has pressed for wealthy people such as himself to pay a greater share in income taxes, and made this a major issue during the 2012 election . GOP opponent Mitt Romney , a wealthy former private equity exec who had an effective tax rate of 14.1 in 2011, became a campaign poster boy. Effective tax rates will vary wildly from one taxpayer to another because of the many tax breaks available, but average just 11.8 percent nationally. Of course, this figure is also skewed. In 2011, research shows that 46 percent of Americans paid no federal income tax at all, most of them because they were poor, elderly or unemployed. This places a disproportionate burden on earners, conservatives argue in opposition to Obama’s proposal, saying they are taxed enough as it is. Incidentally, in 2012, the Obamas overpaid their taxes, entitling them to a refund of $16,815. They chose to apply that total to their 2013 estimated tax.  Smart accounting.

Tiger Woods Hits Unluckiest Shot Ever; Masters Reviewing Possible Rules Violation

Tiger Woods’ hit perhaps the unluckiest shot in the history of golf yesterday, and to add insult to injury, may have inadvertently committed a rules violation to boot. On Friday at the Masters, Woods’ third shot to the Par-5 15th green was DEAD on the money, only it hit the flag stick and ricocheted back into the water. It was an amazing fluke. Take a look: Tiger Woods Hits Flag at Masters Woods proceeded to take a drop, knock it close and save bogey, remaining in contention heading into the weekend, just three shots behind Jason Day. The legality of said drop is in dispute, however. Under the rules, Woods could either hit from the same spot, a designated drop zone, or anywhere on the line between the hole and the point where the ball entered the hazard. During an interview after his round, Tiger stated that he hit the second approach from two yards behind the original spot, which could lead to his disqualification. Woods declined to hit from the drop zone, because it was muddy and not as flat as he’d like. “So I went back to where I played it from,” he told CBS. “But I went 2 yards further back and I took, tried to take 2 yards off the shot of what I felt I hit [the first time]. And that should land me short of the flag.” It did, and he drained the putt for a respectable bogey. But if officials decide he did not drop the ball “as nearly as possible” to the original spot, he could be penalized or even DQ’d from the Masters. Seriously. The incident is currently under review by tournament officials, but CBS replays suggest he may have been closer to the original spot than two yards. Hopefully Lindsey Vonn ‘s BF won’t get the boot. UPDATE : Tiger was assessed a two-shot penalty for the illegal drop. He remains in the competition but is now just one under par, five shots off the lead .

Meghan Vogel Carries Injured Rival Across Finish Line in H.S. Track Event, Becomes National Story

High school junior Meghan Vogel was the big winner at an Ohio Division III girls state track meet on Saturday afternoon, even though she finished dead last. With 20 meters to go in the 3,200-meter race, Vogel was about to pass Arden McMath, a sophomore from a rival school, when McMath collapsed on the track. Rather than continue running, Vogel stopped, helped McMath to her feet, placed McMath’s arm around her shoulders and carried her across the finish line. “Any girl on the track would have done the same for me,” Vogel told ESPN . Runner Helps Injured Rival Across Finish Line Vogel even made sure McMath crossed the finish line first and said she was surprised by the widespread praise she received for an act of selflessness. “It’s strange to have people telling me that his was such a powerful act of kindness and using words like ‘humanity,’” she said after the fact. “When I hear words like that I think of Harriet Tubman and saving people’s lives. I don’t consider myself a hero. I just did what I was supposed to do.” Wow . If only more people approached life like Meghan. Inspiring. The cool thing: Under the rules, a runner is automatically disqualified for helping another runner during a race, but the officials allowed McMath and Vogel’s times to remain in the results, in second-to-last and last place, respectively.
