Alex Brown’s death was a tragedy and Justin Bieber, Emma Roberts, Carl Edwards and Greg Biffle team up with ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition to remember her and help the family she left behind. Volunteers showed their support for Alex Brown ’s family by pitching in and taking part in rebuilding the Brown family home. Amongst the volunteers were Justin Bieber, teen starlet Emma Roberts , NASCAR stars Carl Edwards , and Greg Biffle . It was an organized effort by ABC ’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition . Alex Brown tragically died at the age of 17 while texting and driving. The remaining family members include Jeanne, Johnny Mac, and 12 year old Katrina, who was Alex’s little sister. Katrina spoke with reporters, saying, “If Alex was here and seeing all this she would be so excited for us…She’d be like, ‘I’m so glad y’all are getting this! Y’all are doing good. Keep going.” The day Alex died, her family decided to start the Remember Alex Brown Foundation , which is dedicated to spread awareness about the dangers of texting and driving. The Brown family (all three members) visit high schools, and bring the crushed pickup truck that Alex drove the day she died. ‘Wild Child’ actress Emma Roberts explained how she was impacted through her participation, saying, “After hearing Alex’s story I just think texting and driving is really a problem…To hear that this happened to someone so young — that really kind of was a little bit of a wake-up call. I have a nine year old sister and to think of her losing me, or me losing her — I can’t even comprehend that.” This episode of Extreme Makeover remembering Alex Brown which features Emma Roberts, Carl Edwards, Greg Biffle and Justin Bieber will be airing February 13 th , on ABC .
