Russell Simmons Escapes To Bali Yoga Retreat Amid Allegations After a short-lived attempt at a “countermovement” against women speaking out on rape and sexual deviancy they’ve experienced throughout their lives and careers…Russell Simmons has decided to ghost on the USA altogether. About 12 women have come out with detailed accounts of Russell Simmons being sexually inappropriate or outright raping them, with experiences ranging from the late 80’s until nowadays. Russell stepped down from his leading roles at all his businesses , and it seems has taken a long break from being at home in the United States altogether. Page Six has discovered that Russell has been hiding out and getting “re-centered” at a lavish Yoga retreat in Bali called The Yoga Barn. A source in the know reports that: “Russell is focusing on yoga and meditation, as well as his spiritual and emotional health. He has also been seen wearing robes and walking the streets and markets of Ubud, the yoga town in the jungle.” In addition, he’s working on a book. But it’s not about “his side” of the rape stories or addressing any of the allegations against him at all — just a guidebook of sorts on yoga and meditation . As for the Yoga Barn facility, they recently took a strong stance on their website in support of victims speaking their truths regarding experiences with sexual harassment and misconduct, and they have a strict zero-tolerance policy of such things going down at their facility. HelloBeautiful.com reports Mahesh Sharma, India’s minister for tourism and culture, created a travel list of cultural do’s and don’t’s as part of the welcome kit provided to tourists upon arrival at the airport. But some prospective tourists are taking issue with Sharma’s “fashion don’t” recommendations. While addressing the media in Agra, the home of the Taj Majal, Sharma addressed a recommendation that advises women to not wear skirts at night in small cities. “(The list) has instructions like if they are in small cities, they should not roam around alone at night or wear skirts.” Sharma says the advisory has more to do with religious customs than rape culture and women should be mindful when visiting places of religious importance… [ MadameNoire ] Meet The Women Who Perform Female Genital Mutilation Female genital mutilation (FGM) is a common practice in 29 countries located in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East. Although it’s cited as a rite of passage for women, FGM is a sexually violent practice that can lead to disease and even death. According to Broadly, FGM varies from “country to country and cutter to cutter,” but the World Health Organization has classified the practice into three different types: clitoridectomy (partial or total removal of clitoris), excision (removing the inner labia along with the clitoris) and infibulation (sealing the vaginal opening shut). It turns out that there was no methadone, methamphetamine or OxyContin among the pills found in the SUV the G.O.O.D. Music rapper was a passenger in before he was arrested for charges that included menacing and drug possession. According to TMZ, the authorities claimed the aforementioned drugs were found in the vehicle, but it turns out all the pills were steroids. And they all belonged to the driver of the vehicle. The SUV was initially pulled over after a road rage incident where a driver alleged that Desiigner pointed a gun at him. However, there no gun found in the vehicle. Here’s one of my favorite Olympians Sasha Cohen practicing one of my all-time favorite pastimes: bikini yoga. And I’m sorry, but I don’t know how they haven’t made this an Olympic sport by now. I mean, if they consider ice dancing a sport, why can’t this be one too? Anyway, if the IOC ever does come around, I just hope they pick me to be a judge.
