Lock Her Up: 71-Year-Old Grandma Marries 17-Year-OId Boy She Met At Her 45-Year-Old Son’s Funeral

Source: Susan Lupton / EyeEm / Getty 71-Year-Old Woman Marries 17-Year-Old Boy She Met At Son’s Funeral Seriously, what the hell is wrong with people? Almeda and Gary Hardwick were married in 2016 when they were 71-years-old and 17-years-old respectively according to NYPost . The couple met at the funeral for Almeda’s 45-year-old son Robert. Weird enough for ya yet? If not, get a load of this… Gary met and married Almeda while attempting to escape a relationship with a 77-year-old woman that he had been dating. “We were always fighting,’ said Gary. “I fell into depression and was looking for a way out.” Almeda was previously married but her husband of 43-years died in 2013 and she’s been looking for a lil’ spark in her life and in her loins: Almeda said: “I’d noticed this young man with a lovely smile during the service and thought, ‘Wow, this is the one.’” “He was on the other side of the church, but I kept looking over at him. It was like a bright light through the grief. “Then, as I was walking to the door at the end, he came over and passed on his condolences. We didn’t have much time, but it was enough.” We’re sure that Almeda isn’t the first person to feel lust during a funeral but that doesn’t make it any less weird. Especially when the object of her lust is barely old enough to drive. She recalled: “I just came out with it and said to him, ‘Look, I’m 71 and you’re 17. Am I too old for you?’ He squeezed my hand, grinned and replied: “Age is just a number.”’ We feel like we need a long hot shower. The couple had sex for the first time on their wedding night and previously described each other as “wonderful lovers.” “It was wonderful, beyond my wildest dreams,” revealed Gary. “She really is my dream woman and the physical side of our relationship couldn’t be better.” Throw all these people away.

Sad And Shady: Black Mother Dies Pushing Broken Down Car Off Road, Did Cops Fail To Help?

Source: Noel Hendrickson / Getty South Carolina Mother Crushed To Death Pushing SUV Extremely sad way to start 2019 . According to WTLX 29-year-old mother of 2, Leisa Bonique Johnson, was killed in front of her 3-year-old and 5-year-old daughters while attempting to push her broken down SUV out of the road at 1 a.m. on Monday. When the truck stopping running in the middle of a Spartanburg, South Carolina road, Johnson attempted to push the car to the shoulder and in the process became pinned under the vehicle with the girls sitting inside. The panicked children used her cell phone to call police, but clearly there was nothing they could do to help their mother. Johnson’s aunt and uncle say the car ran out of gas as she was driving to the emergency room, potentially to deal with blood pressure and blood sugar issues. The girls reportedly got out of the car three times and witnessed their mother’s death says Leisa’s aunt Sheila Rookard: “They managed to get out the car three times to see their mama up under their car,” said Rookard. “It’s going to be a struggle, you know, from the beginning, especially with them kids seeing that with (their) mom and stuff,” Rookard said. “Y’all just pray for us.” Here’s where things get a bit shady, in a story on WSPA, one of the daughters reportedly told a family member that a police officer pulled up and told Leisa to get the car out the road. Then left. A woman. With 2 small daughters. To move a car. Alone. At 1 a.m. Reporters are working to confirm the validity of that claim. If true, could spell BIG trouble for said officer and the police department. Rest in peace, Leisa Johson. Those poor girls…

Not Today, Satan! Rural Alabama Police Blame The Devil For Spike In Homicides

Source: MICHAL CIZEK / Getty Alabama Cops Blame Devil On Rising Homicides Sigh. A police department in rural Alabama is under fire for a Facebook post that intertwines religion and government says an opposition group. According to AL , the Freedom From Religion Foundation charges that the Opp Police Department (what a PERFECT name for a group of cops, the opps) is violating the law by using their platform to endorse a religious belief. Two firearm-related murders in two days prompted the department to take their frustration to Facebook: THIS PAST SUNDAY, A YOUNG MAN WAS SHOT AND KILLED IN KINSTON. MONDAY NIGHT, A MOTHER WAS SHOT AND KILLED IN NORTHERN COVINGTON COUNTY. THERE HAVE BEEN FIVE MURDERS IN COVINGTON COUNTY IN 2018. THESE MURDERS HAVE BEEN DONE BY OUR YOUNG PEOPLE. THIS IS HAPPENING BECAUSE WE HAVE TURNED AWAY FROM GOD AND EMBRACED SATAN. WE MAY HAVE NOT MEANT TO DO SO BUT, WE HAVE. IT IS TIME TO ASK FOR GOD’S HELP TO STOP THIS. IT IS TIME TO BE PARENTS AND RAISE OUR CHILDREN, NOT HAVE THEM RAISE US. IT IS TIME TO FULLY SUPPORT LAW ENFORCEMENT AND STAND BY THE OFFICERS AND DEPUTIES THAT ARE FAR TOO OFTEN HAVING TO WALK INTO THESE DANGEROUS SITUATIONS AND CLEAN UP THE MESS. FRIENDS, IT IS TIME TO STAND UP AND BE RESPONSIBLE, GROWN UP LEADERS IN OUR COMMUNITY. BOTTOM LINE, THERE ARE SHEEP; THERE ARE WOLVES AND THERE ARE SHEEP DOGS. WHICH GROUP DO YOU BELONG TO ? Maybe they figured that since they were in the Bible belt that the community of 6,500 would be amenable to such a characterization. But maybe, just maybe, if the Opp cops were better at their job then the murders wouldn’t have happened in the first place, or maybe the Opp cops ARE the devil. *shrug*

ABC Has Indefinitely Postponed A Political ‘Black-ish’ Episode Citing “Creative Differences”

Eric McCandless/ABC via Getty Images ABC Pulled A Black-ish Episode 5 Days Before Air ABC’s series  Black-ish  is known for never backing down from controversial social and political issues, but that wasn’t the case when it came to airing a recent episode. The network has indefinitely postponed what seems to be a pretty sensitive episode over certain “creative differences” with the showrunner Kenya Barris, according to  Variety . At the moment, ABC doesn’t have any plans to air the episode or make it available at all. The episode is titled “Please, Baby, Please” and was initially scheduled to air on February 27. But five days before the airdate, it was announced that the episode wouldn’t air and would instead be replaced with a rerun. ABC didn’t reveal why the adjustment had been made or when the shelved episode would actually air. An ABC spokesperson told  Variety,  “One of the things that has always made ‘Black-ish’ so special is how it deftly examines delicate social issues in a way that simultaneously entertains and educates. However, on this episode there were creative differences we were unable to resolve.” The episode titled, “Please, Baby, Please” shows father Dre (played by Anthony Anderson) with his baby boy while a thunderstorm keeps the whole family awake. Dre improvises a bedtime story that eventually reveals his anxieties about some of the issues facing the country. The episode also discusses the rights of football players to kneel during performances of the national anthem. “Given our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it,” Barris told  Variety . “‘Black-ish’ is a show that has spoken to all different types of people and brought them closer as a community and I’m so proud of the series.”

The Creepsby Show: Lisa Bonet Throws Bill Cosby Under A SEPTA Bus, Reveals “Sinister And Shadowy Energy”

Image via NBCU Photo Bank/Getty Lisa Bonet Speaks About Bill Cosby’s Energy The dozens of sexual assault/rape accusations against Bill Cosby has put those who knew him professionally in the spotlight as many want to know if there were signs of his criminal proclivities back in the day. During an interview with Net-A-Porter , Lisa Bonet , who played his daughter Denise Huxtable, made it pretty clear that she always felt that there was something off with “Americas’s Favorite Dad” Have the revelations about Bill Cosby’s alleged sexual misconduct tainted her memory of those years? She looks evenly at me. “No, it’s exactly as I remember it,” she says. But did you have a sense that anything was happening? “There was no knowledge on my part about his specific actions, but… There was just energy. And that type of sinister, shadow energy cannot be concealed.” You sensed a darkness? “Always. And if I had anything more to reveal then it would have happened a long time ago. That’s my nature. The truth will set you free.” But that wasn’t all… At the time, Bonet was branded a rebel who tested the patience of the most popular sitcom dad in the country. She showed up late on set and posed topless in Interview magazine, contrary to his wishes. Cosby famously opposed her role in Angel Heart, in which she performed a nude sex scene with Mickey Rourke. “I don’t need to say, ‘I told you so’,” she says about Cosby’s current situation. “I just leave all that to karma and justice and what will be.” The folks at Merriam-Webster have to put Lisa Bonet’s face next to the definition of “dry snitchin’”

Michael Smith Leaves ESPN’s ‘SportsCenter’ Just One Month After Co-Host Jemele Hill

Leon Bennett/Getty Images for BET Friday Will Be Michael Smith’s Last Day On SportsCenter Michael Smith is set to leave his role as ESPN’s  SportsCenter  6 p.m. ET host, and his last day will be on Friday, March 9. Smith’s departure comes a little over a month after his former co-host, Jemele Hill , left the program to join ESPN’s website,  The Undefeated . Smith has not yet announced where he will be going after leaving  SportsCenter , but  Sports Illustrated  reports that he–just like Hill–still has multiple years left on his ESPN contract, so it’s assume that he will stay within the brand in one capacity or another. According to New York Post  reporter Andrew Marchand, the most likely replacements for Hill and Smith will be Sage Steele and John Anderson, who are the currentl hosts of  SportsCenter  at night. As @sportsrapport tweeted, I was told last week that Sage Steele and John Anderson were favorites to be new 6 pm SportsCenter team. As @richarddeitsch reported, Michael Smith will no longer do SC. This was a when, not if, situation. — Andrew Marchand (@AndrewMarchand) March 9, 2018 In September of last year, ESPN Executive Vice President Norby Williamson took control of the  SportsCenter  franchise, and immediately instituted changes to the show that greatly affected how Hill and Smith did their jobs. He himself admitted that there was “probably an element of truth” to claims that Hill left the show at least in part because of the changes he implemented–and the same could probably go for Michael, as well. As for next moves, Smith himself hasn’t commented on anything in particular, but Williamson said in a statement , “Michael is a talented commentator, and we greatly appreciate and value his contributions and creativity. We are in the process of discussing with him potential next ESPN assignments.” Good luck to Smith on his next endeavor!

Model Matrimony-dom: Chanel Iman Weds Her NY Giants Baller Boo Sterling Shepard In Beverly Hills Ceremony

Gustavo Caballero/Getty Images Chanel Iman Marries Sterling Shepard On March 3 The rumors were right! Chanel Iman exchanged “I Do’s” with New York Giant’s WR Sterling Shepard over the weekend at Beverly Hills hotel. The couple said their vows in front of guests including Chrissy Teigen, Gabrielle Union, Odell Beckham Jr., Shanina Shaik, and Joan Smalls. Chanel shared some photos on Instagram, but spilled the details on the wedding (which was put together by celebrity wedding planner Mindy Weiss in just three months!) to Brides , including details on her Zuhair Murad gown, which she paired with a cape and veil. “I really love simple, elegant silhouettes and I really wanted to find a classic gown for my ceremony,” Chanel Iman shared about the Murad gown she wore for her wedding ceremony. “I feel very lucky to have gotten married in one of his gorgeous creations,” she says. As for the groom, Shepard wore a Boss tux! “We leaned towards something more traditional and timeless for the ceremony,” says Chanel. But, of course, the stylish groom had an outfit change later on. Says Chanel, “We threw the rulebook out for the reception and shook things up a little with a fun jacket and shoe change for Sterling before he hit the dance floor! Chanel’s bridesmaids, including fellow model Jourdan Dunn, wore white gowns by Watters. “I wanted to keep the palette really clean and fresh,” says the bride. “I didn’t want to have the outfits compete with the gorgeous, lush surroundings.” The bride’s mother made beautiful dresses for the flower girls. Following the ceremony, the bride slipped into a second dress by Zuhair Murad for dinner and dancing. “The pink in the gown and the deep V-neckline really appealed to my more girly side,” she says. “It also brought in the theme of rose gold, which is all I wear and the color of my engagement and wedding ring!” They both look stunning. Sterling posted a few photos as well. Keep clicking for more wedding pics!

Yvonne Orji To Star In Commercial On The Evolution Of Black Beauty In Hollywood

Yvonne Orji has quickly become one of our favorite funny girls as Issa’s BFF on Insecure. After an overwhelmingly positive reception to season 1 of the HBO series, we had a feeling we’d be seeing a lot more of Yvonne, but we had no idea how soon. On February 11, she’s set to star in her own commercial on the evolution of beauty in Black Hollywood. The ad spot is the result of a collaboration between P&G’s My Black is Beautiful Initiative and the Image Awards to showcase black beauty in its various forms. In the commercial, the Nigerian-American actress, who’s also an Image Award nominee, will share her perspective on the evolution of Black beauty in Hollywood while embodying that very evolution herself with her chocolate skin, textured ‘fro, full lips, and contagious smile. Check out behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot and be sure to tune in to the NAACP Image Awards Saturday, February 11 on TV One. Red carpet starts at 7:30. [ madamenoire ] No Work, No School, No Spending: National Strike Against Trump Slated For February 17 Protests continue to pop up at various locations around the country in response to President Donald Trump’s Muslim travel ban, but now citizens around the United States are attempting to organize a national strike in which no one would go to work, school, or spend money on February 17 in a unified stance against our Commander-in-Chief. According to Cosmo, activists got the idea from Francine Prose, an American Writer who, in a column for The Guardian Monday, said: “Forget protest. Trump’s actions warrant a general national strike.” “So what can we do to protest our current government’s callousness about our environment and our health, its rampant greed, its disrespect for life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness?,” she wrote. “I believe that what we need is a nonviolent national general strike of the kind that has been more common in Europe than here. Let’s designate a day on which no one (that is, anyone who can do so without being fired) goes to work, a day when no one shops or spends money, a day on which we truly make our economic and political power felt, a day when we make it clear: how many of us there are, how strong and committed we are, how much we can accomplish.” [ madamenoire ] Did Shaq Consider Blessing Charles Barkley With A Fade On TV? The attention to the drama between LeBron James and Charles Barkley is slowly but surely petering out, but it’s making for some interesting TV. When discussing the matter on TNT Inside The NBA, Shaq told Chuck he would have stepped to him with the hands if he told him, like he told King James, he didn’t want to “compete.” Shaq made the point that it was the personal nature of Barkley’s critique that set LeBron James off. “When you said that man doesn’t want to compete, that’s what ticked him off. And I woulda did the same thing,” Shaq told Barkley. “I woulda came right back at your rack. I woulda came up here and punched you in your face. That’s what I woulda did.” To this, Chuck said, “Well first of all you’re not a good fighter…” There was a slight chuckle heard, then crickets. Bruh…look at Shaq’s face. Specifically, his eyes. It’s like he was measuring out how long it would take him to get to the other side of the table and mete out swift justice.
