Hannibal: Canceled By NBC!

You may want to sit down and pour yourselves a nice Chianti for this one, Hannibal fans. Entertainment Weekly reported moments ago that the acclaimed drama has been canceled by NBC . In a statement, showrunner Bryan Fuller expressed his gratitude to the network for allowing him so much creative freedom, and more than a few second chances: “NBC has allowed us to craft a television series that no other broadcast network would have dared,” Fuller said. “[They] kept us on the air for three seasons despite Cancellation Bear Chow ratings and images that would have shredded the eyeballs of lesser Standards & Practices enforcers. “Hannibal is finishing his last course at NBC’s table this summer, but a hungry cannibal can always dine again. And personally, I look forward to my next meal with NBC.” The remaining episodes of the show’s third season will continue to air Thursday nights at 10 pm. Devoted fans remain hopeful that another network or streaming service will pick up the cultishly adored series, just as Hulu picked up The Mindy Project after it was canceled by Fox last month. Fortunately, if the worst-case scenario comes to pass, and this is really the last meal for TV’s favorite (only?) cannibal, Fuller assures fans that he was prepared for the possibility, and the final episode of season 3 finale also functions as a suitable series finale. As always, you can watch Hannibal online at TV Fanatic to relive your favorite moments. View Slideshow: 9 TV Shows That SHOULD Be Canceled
