A Roller Coaster

Hey everyone! I know it’s been awhile since my last update to the blog. The last few months have been one of the wildest rides ever and I want to thank so many of you for your tremendous support and for sticking with me through so many of these experiences. Just a quick update on some things: I continue to be proud to write for The Daily Beast . It’s provided a unique opportunity to write on some serious and some not so serious topics. I love doing it and I love that it allows me to express myself in some entertaining ways. And, I’m thrilled to hear from so many of you that you appreciate the humor and perspective of these articles. As some may have heard, I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to write another book and will have more to share on this in the coming weeks. I think it will surprise a lot of people. It’s going to be more thought provoking than some of my critics may realize. I like surprising people and this project certainly will. This past weekend, I spoke at the Log Cabin Republicans convention in Washington, DC. I realize that there’s been a lot of media coverage of how it went. I am very proud to have the opportunity to speak on how the Republican Party can continue to find ways to be more inclusive and return to its core values and beliefs. Some photos from the weekend are below. Between writing for The Daily Beast and working on the book, I haven’t had as much time as expected to keep the Blogette updated. I’ll try my best to do better, but you can always follow me on Twitter . Be warned, it’s me uncensored and it’s alot of random thoughts and vents. If that’s your thing, you’ll enjoy it. If not, I understand. You’ll want to keep this site bookmarked then for future updates. I was also very thankful to have this site recognized recently with two distinguished awards in politics. McCainBlogette.com recently received the Golden Dot Award for Best Blog – Candidate for Local, State or Federal Office from the 2009 Politics Online Conference. We also won two Pollie Awards from the Association of Political and Public Affairs Professionals. That’s incredible and thanks to both organizations for these honors. Lastly, I want to thank you all again for your faith in what’s happening with my life at this point. Most of the messages (nearly 90%) I receive on a daily basis provide enormous motivation and support during what can be a bewildering experience. The ones that don’t, well like I said, I think you’re going to be surprised. Love, Meghan Song of the Day: “Don’t Trust Me” by 3OH!3
