“MARS!” is a very thought-provoking animated short by Joe Bichard and Jack Cunningham, which tells the now painfully common tale of one species colonizing another and sucking its resources dry. This poignant environmental message shows the perils of utilizing a planet’s resources with absolutely no regard for nature and wildlife. “MARS!” can’t help but evoke clear connections to British Petroleum’s ongoing, catastrophic Louisiana oil spill that’s devastating the southern Gulf Coast.
