Japan offers bribes, prostitutes, to resume whaling

The Sunday Times of Great Britain reports Japan is using bribes in the form of economic aid, cash, and even prostitutes to influence small countries to vote in favor of lifting a ban on commercial whaling that has been in place for the last 28 years. The Times reports it has film of officials from various governments admitting that Japan offered financial aid in exchange for a pro-whaling vote on the International Whaling Commission. The Japanese government is trying to repeal a moratorium on commercial whaling imposed by the International Whaling Commission (IWC). The IWC meets this month in Morocco to decide the fate of the moratorium. http://www.examiner.com/x-10853-Portland-Humanist-Examiner~y2010m6d13-Japan-offe… added by: unimatrix0
