Oberyn Martell vs. Gregor Clegane: Tale of the Tape!

It’s going down this Sunday on Game of Thrones!  The fight of the 15th Century between Oberyn “The Red Viper” Martell and Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane to decide the fate of Tyrion “Pour Me Another” Lannister. This showdown will make T.I. vs. Floyd Mayweather  look like a septa’s sewing lesson and we’ve got all the facts you need to help you pick a winner and fleece your friends for every gold dragon they’re worth: Size: We think it’s safe to say Gregor’s got the obvious advantage here. Portrayed by Hafpor Julius Bjornsson, aka the world’s second strongest man , Sandor didn’t earn the nickname “The Mountain” because he likes to go climbing. No, Bjornsson goes about 6’9″, 420 pounds, meaning that Sandor may be the biggest dude Westeros has to offer. If we were in Oberyn’s shoes we’d be looking for some medieval HGH about now. Edge: Gregor Swordsmanship : Well, he messed up some Lannisters early in season 4, but we haven’t really seen Oberyn do much fighting. Not a good sign. Gregor, on the other hand recently disemboweled some peasants with about as much difficulty as if he were shelling pistachios. Edge: Gregor Intimidation Factor: Yup, another no-brainer for Mount Clegane. This guy’s brother, the Hound, goes all jelly-spined at the mere mention of his name. Oberyn may be the ultimate badass back in Dorne, but we’re guessing he’s never faced an opponent quite as terrifying as the Mountain. Edge: Gregor Charisma: Ah, here we go! If it comes down to a judges’ decision, the fact that he doesn’t rely on monosyllabic grunts to communicate could work to Oberyn’s advantage. People say a lot of things about the Mountain, but “he’s a great conversationalist” isn’t one of them. Of course, if we were  going into a fight to the death, we wouldn’t want to be relying on our way with words, but hey, it’s something! Edge: Oberyn So there you have it. If you’re still unsure of who to bet your gold on, we recommend checking out the below video of the actor who plays Sandor throwing a washing machine 15 feet. It’s been nice getting to know you, Oberyn! Watch Game of Thrones online at TV Fanatic to relive Oberyn’s all-too-brief time in King’s Landing. Hafpor Julius Bjornsson Throws a Washing Machine!

Oksana Grigorieva Case: Conflict of Interest With D.A.?

No decision has been made yet, but sources report that Mel Gibson is likely to be charged with domestic violence in an alleged attack on Oksana Grigorieva. At the same time, Oksana, who Mel alleges tried to bilk him out of millions by lording his taped rants over his head, is likely to be off the hook for extortion. The question complicating an already confusing, drawn-out mess of a case is whether L.A. County District Attorney Steve Cooley should even be involved. Is the D.A. biased by a connection to Oksana’s lawyer? The D.A.’s office will soon decide the fate of Oksana and Mel, but critics are pointing to fundraisers he attended on his own behalf as questionable. Why? The lawyer who negotiated Oksana’s $15 million settlement – which she left on the table, and is at the core of the extortion investigation – is Eric George. George, a prominent Beverly Hills civil lawyer, hosted both campaign fundraisers last year, while the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department was investigating. George contributed more than $8,000 to Cooley in 2010 …

Japan offers bribes, prostitutes, to resume whaling

The Sunday Times of Great Britain reports Japan is using bribes in the form of economic aid, cash, and even prostitutes to influence small countries to vote in favor of lifting a ban on commercial whaling that has been in place for the last 28 years. The Times reports it has film of officials from various governments admitting that Japan offered financial aid in exchange for a pro-whaling vote on the International Whaling Commission. The Japanese government is trying to repeal a moratorium on commercial whaling imposed by the International Whaling Commission (IWC). The IWC meets this month in Morocco to decide the fate of the moratorium. http://www.examiner.com/x-10853-Portland-Humanist-Examiner~y2010m6d13-Japan-offe… added by: unimatrix0

Is ‘Sex And The City 3’ On The Way? Kim Cattrall Weighs In

‘I think there’s more stories to be told,’ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kim Cattrall Photo: MTV News The second “Sex and the City” movie hasn’t even hit theaters yet, but that doesn’t mean fans aren’t wondering if the girls will get together for a third flick. Kim Cattrall said the only person who can decide the fate of the franchise is writer/director Michael Patrick King, and if he wants her to come back again to play man-crazy PR maven Samantha Jones, she’s there in an instant — as long as she doesn’t have to come up with the story line. “That’s totally not up to me, thank God! Thank God I don’t have to write that third script,” she told MTV News while promoting “Sex and the City 2,” which hits theaters Thursday. “That would be so daunting, but that’s up to Michael.” While the decision isn’t hers, she certainly is rooting for there to be another flick. “I don’t know if there will be a third,” she said. “I hope there will be. I think there’s more stories to be told. That’s totally his call.” So when will they stop? “Well, I think the only way it will continue is if Michael feels there’s more to be said. I think once we start repeating ourselves, it’s time to say goodbye,” she said. “Maybe that’s in five years, maybe that’s in 10. Who knows? I hope we can do it for as long as the audience is there and the characters are interesting and growing and changing.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Sex and the City 2.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
