New John Mayer Song: A Diss to Taylor Swift?

John Mayer has released his latest track, a single titled “Paper Dolls,” and it has the Internet buzzing. But not because some woman is strolling around in the video showcasing her prancercise skills. Even though she is. Instead, the Twitterverse and Facebook worlds are abuzz with chatter that this is Mayer’s revenge against Taylor Swift – and there’s strong evidence to back this claim up. John Mayer – “Paper Doll” “You’re like twenty two girls in one/And none of them know what they’re runnin’ from,” reads one lyric, making listeners think of Swift’s “ 22 .” Then there’s Mayer’s reference to someone painting “another sky,” which would seem to be a rebuttal to Taylor’s 2010 single “Dear John.” It included the words: “You paint me a blue sky and go back and turn it to rain.” Mayer kicks off his summer tour July 6 in Milwaukee. In the meantime, listen to his latest effort above and react: Is he going off on Swift in “Paper Dolls?” And is he out of line if so? Or does Taylor have this coming? She did once tell ex-boyfriends to bring it , after all.

Oksana Grigorieva Case: Conflict of Interest With D.A.?

No decision has been made yet, but sources report that Mel Gibson is likely to be charged with domestic violence in an alleged attack on Oksana Grigorieva. At the same time, Oksana, who Mel alleges tried to bilk him out of millions by lording his taped rants over his head, is likely to be off the hook for extortion. The question complicating an already confusing, drawn-out mess of a case is whether L.A. County District Attorney Steve Cooley should even be involved. Is the D.A. biased by a connection to Oksana’s lawyer? The D.A.’s office will soon decide the fate of Oksana and Mel, but critics are pointing to fundraisers he attended on his own behalf as questionable. Why? The lawyer who negotiated Oksana’s $15 million settlement – which she left on the table, and is at the core of the extortion investigation – is Eric George. George, a prominent Beverly Hills civil lawyer, hosted both campaign fundraisers last year, while the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department was investigating. George contributed more than $8,000 to Cooley in 2010 …
