Aaron Hernandez "Duped" Patriots if Allegations Are True, Bob Kraft Says

New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has broken his silence on Aaron Hernandez, sitting down with a number of media outlets to discuss the situation. The 72-year-old, who has owned the team since 1994, recounted his initial shock when one of his stars became embroiled in a homicide investigation . Hernandez has since been charged with the premeditated murder of Odin Lloyd . “If this stuff is true, then I’ve been duped and our whole organization has been duped,” Kraft told ESPN of the player he drafted out of Florida in 2010. “Here we have a guy who, man, it looks like had the world by the tail. He said to me he wanted to be a role model to the Hispanic community,” Kraft said. “He was kind enough to give a check for my beloved wife’s memorial charity. He said we’d given him a second chance and I believed him.” “He was the most likeable young man. This is all sad to me. Very sad.” While Kraft had previously remained silent, the actions of his organization spoke volumes. Less than two hours after his arrest, the Patriots released him. Two days later, the team announced that fans would have an opportunity to exchange Hernandez jerseys for gear with the name of another player. Kraft said this is necessary “if any member of the New England Patriots organization is close enough to a murder investigation to actually get arrested.” “Whether it be for obstruction of justice or the crime itself – it is too close to an unthinkable act for that person to be part of this organization going forward.” The Patriots drafted Hernandez out of the University of Florida in 2010 and signed him to a five-year, $40 million contract extension before the 2012 season. In the days since Hernandez was taken into custody, a troubling history of brushes with the law – including, potentially, two more murders – has been revealed. Kraft explained that Hernandez answered the Patriots’ concerns about his character in 2010, writing him a letter saying they had “absolutely nothing to worry about.” According to Kraft, the team saw no indications of trouble with Hernandez. “I only know what goes on inside this building. We don’t put private eyes on people,” Kraft said. “When he was in this building, I was never exposed to anything where he was not positive.” “He was always polite, respectful.”

Keepin’ It 100: Michael Vick Says He Was “Better At Reading Dogs, Than Reading Defenses” In New Autobiography “Finally Free”

The Eagles star QB isn’t pulling any punches when talking about the mistakes he’s made in the past. Michael Vick Set To Release Autobiography Called “Finally Free” The first excerpts from Michael Vick’s autobiography, “Finally Free,” were released Monday. In an exclusive interview with USA Today, Vick discusses his dogfighting past, time in prison and future with the Philadelphia Eagles. “Back when I was involved in those activities, I may have become more dedicated to the deep study of dogs than I was to my [Atlanta] Falcons playbook,” one excerpt reads. “I became better at reading dogs than reading defenses. That’s just so sad to say right now, because I put more time and effort into trying to master that pursuit than my own profession … which was my livelihood … which put food on the table for my family.” Vick was arrested in 2007 after being hit with felony dogfighting charges for his role in funding and participating in fights held by Bad Newz Kennels. After accepting a plea deal, Vick turned himself in and was eventually sentenced to 23 months in federal prison. “When we pulled up to the courthouse, (fiance) Kijafa [Frink] looked me dead in the eyes. ‘Don’t go,’ she said. ‘Don’t leave.’ Then she started crying. … Then I started crying. The pain they felt — it was all my fault,” Vick writes. Vicks also laments his decision to lie to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell when he had a chance to come clean about dog-fighting. “I knew how to lie with a straight face,” Vick writes. “Sad to say, Commissioner Goodell bought into what I was saying, and I think he truly believed me that I was telling the truth. I deeply regret not telling him the truth from the outset.” But now that newly-married Vick has taken his life back, it’s time to take his career back too… After spending 19 months in prison, Vick was reinstated to the NFL in 2009 and signed with the Philadelphia Eagles. Vick became the Eagles’ starting quarterback during the 2010 season and in 25 games has thrown for 6,321 yards and 39 TDs and has rushed for 1,265 yards and 10 TDs. Vick even vowed to bring a Super Bowl to Philadelphia. “My story is not finished. I have more to do. I have something that I want give back to everyone that supported me,” Vick writes. “Here it is: I am committed, focused and determined to win a Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles. This is my promise. It is my drive. I will work like a champion to get there. I want to do it for my family, friends, mentors, coaches, teammates, and fans. I want to do it for Philly.” “Finally Free” hits bookshelves on September 4, one day before the 2012 NFL season begins (with the Giants playing the Cowboys) and five days before Vick’s Eagles play the Cleveland Browns in Week 1. We’ve always been huge supporters of Michael and his family, so we suggest you cop that book and look for MV7 and the Philadelphia Eagles to do handle their business this season! Image via AP Source

Kanye And GZ’s Knit Stilettos Go On Sale For $6K

This is the MC’s first women’s shoe design, and it’s only available through French retailer Colette. By Rob Markman Kanye West Photo: Robyn Beck/ AFP/ Getty Images Kanye West is a master collaborator. Last year, the Louis Vuitton Don hooked up with Jay-Z to release their tag-team Watch the Throne LP, and now the fashion-forward MC has collaborated with Italian designer Giuseppe Zanotti to drop a swanky pair of high heels . The shoes will fetch far more than a Throne CD though, with a price tag of around 4,420 euros (approximately $5,800). Folks first caught a glimpse of the bone-color, pearl-embroidered heels during Paris Fashion Week last October. The buzz around Yeezy’s women’s line was heavy and the reviews were mixed, though the Giuseppe heels seemed to be an overwhelming favorite. For now, Kanye and Giuseppe’s hot-stepper is only available through the trendy French retailer Colette . For ballettes on a budget, there is a second, all-black strappy design made of velvet leather that goes for $930. Kanye recounted his days of learning shoe design from the Italian fashion icon back in January during his unforgettable Twitter spree. “I snuck to Giuseppe Zanotti Factory still under contract and learned to design women’s shoes for 2 years before my first show in Paris,” he wrote. In August of last year, Zanotti praised Kanye’s dedication to fashion . “[Kanye] loves learning about shoes both the design and construction, and we’ve tried to design something together,” he told Womens Wear Daily. He added, “In a couple of months, he could have his own special collection out.” What do you think of Kanye West and Giuseppe Zanotti’s collaborative design? Tell us in the comments! Ne-Yo: ‘Leave You Alone’ Video With Young Jeezy ‘Really A Movie’

‘We both kind of stayed in our own lanes but made it make sense,’ Ne-Yo tells MTV News of collaboration.’We both kind of stayed in our own lanes but made it make sense,’ Ne-Yo tells MTV News of collaboration. By Rob Markman Young Jeezy Photo: Chris McKay/ Getty Images While the literal definition of a movie is a motion picture, the DJ Khaled definition of a movie can range from a really great party to a hit record or a classic album. When it comes to the upcoming video for Young Jeezy and Ne-Yo ‘s new single “Leave You Alone,” the former definition applies, but judging from the video’s trailer , which was released online on Thursday, the DJ Khaled definition is also applicable. “Make sure you check for that video coming real soon. It’s a movie. Not even in a DJ Khaled sense; like, it’s really a movie,” Ne-Yo told MTV News on Sunday when he walked the red carpet before the 2012 NBA All-Star Game in Orlando. Ne-Yo didn’t want to give too much of the video’s plot away, but he did hint that Jizzle would be moving just a bit out of his comfort zone in the TAJ_TPK-directed clip. “We both kind of stayed in our own lanes but made it make sense,” Ne-Yo said. “I moved just far enough out of my lane to make sense for him and he moved just far enough out of his to make sense for me, but it’s still Ne-Yo, it’s still Jeezy, and it’s all good, trust.” Trailers for videos aren’t normally this dramatic, but the Jeezy-narrated clip is more Hollywood than hip-hop. The Snowman’s new female-friendly TM 103 single is a departure from his normal trap anthems, though Jeezy does well to stay in his character of thug motivator. On the track, Young raps about a forbidden love, while Ne-Yo’s R&B hook puts the age-old good-girls-love-bad-boys narrative in perfect context. The dramatic minute-and-a-half trailer does even more to illustrate the story. From the start, the ATL spitter reminds viewers of the pitfalls of his hustling lifestyle, having to watch his back and not being able to trust anyone. Doesn’t seem like love is in the cards for Jeezy, until a young beauty from a rival Latin crew catches his eye. “She been on my mind, but the problem was I could never see her face until now,” Jeezy said, setting up the video’s main plotline. “My life, this life, will never be the same again/ Her name is Olivia, yeah.” Young Jeezy’s “Leave You Alone” video will be out March 9.
