For a woman who stars on a show called Teen Mom OG , Bristol Palin certainly isn't very sympathetic to the plight of unwed young mothers. Or at least that's the impression we get from her latest comments on the subject. As The Ashley's Reality Roundup points out , Bristol went on an Instagram rant this week, and she made what many feel are deeply insensitive comments about teen pregnancy. Some fans are even citing the remarks as proof that Bristol never should have been cast on the show in the first place. Take a look: 1. Bristol Under Fire Many Teen Mom OG fans were not thrilled when Bristol Palin was cast on the show, and they’re citing her latest comments as further evidence that she just doesn’t belong. 2. Blast From the Past Unlike Cheyenne Floyd, who also joined the cast this season, Bristol was an honest-to-goodness teen mom at one point. 3. The Palins She welcomed her first child in 2008 … the same year that her mother gained national fame as John McCain’s running mate. 4. Different Strokes Needless to say, Bristol’s upbringing was quite different from those of the other Teen Moms, most of whom grew up in relative poverty. 5. Check Your Privilege But despite the fact that her mother was once one of the most famous women in the country, Bristol says she didn’t grow up with a silver spoon in her mouth. 6. Cut off “People have this assumption that I haven’t struggled with finances but my parents cut me off lonnng long ago, like when I got knocked up 10+ years ago (which good parents should do),” Bristol wrote on Instagram this week. Briana DeJesus is like lightning in a bottle. DeJesus breathed new life into the aging Teen Mom 2 franchise when she joined the cast in 2017, an effect that MTV has been unable to reproduce on Teen Mom OG . The reason, of course, is that Bristol Palin and Cheyenne Floyd are not Briana DeJesus. Briana knows how to stir the pot and spill the tea like any good reality star should. In fact, as she proved in a recent exclusive interview with The Hollywood Gossip , the mother of two can deliver the drama even when the cameras aren't rolling. Take a look: 1. Briana Drama Briana spoke exclusively with The Hollywood Gossip this week, and she had much to say about her kids, her new relationship, and her famously volatile co-stars. 2. A Frightening Incident The health and well-being of Briana’s youngest daughter has been a subject of concern for fans ever since little Stella was rushed to a hospital in August. 3. On the Mend Fortunately, the 17-month-old is recovering nicely following a bout with septic arthritis. 4. Making Progress “Stella is definitely ok,” Briana tells THG, adding that her eldest daughter, Nova, loves taking care of her little sis. 5. Team Effort “She gets the common cold here and there but for the most part she’s back to her normal self and nova loves taking care of Stella and making sure she’s OK,” Dejesus adds. 6. Heating Up Back in September, Briana revealed that she’s dating a New York native named Johnny Rodriguez. View Slideshow
Emotions and drama ran very high on Teen Mom OG this week. One cast member opened up about her long-time stalker. Another talked about her miscarriage. And a prominent player who hasn't been seen on screen this season checked into rehab. Indeed, things got as serious as possible on the MTV hit, with a few bits of humor sprinkled in here and there. Scroll down for a complete recap of events and storylines… 1. Scary Times for Bristol Palin Bristol moved into her new home this week, following her ugly split from Dakota Meyer. But then the ex-Marine called Palin with some troubling news. 2. A Break-In YIKES: someone had broken into Meyer’s home in Kentucky, with everyone assuming the culprit was a stalker who had been targeting Sarah Palin and her loved ones ever since she ran for vice president. 3. Who is He? Bristol explained on air that the man, Shawn Christy, had been “in and out of jail,” but was now “on the run from the law.” This concerned Palin, of course, who figured the only reason the man broke into Dakota’s place was due to her. 4. A Decade-Long Threat “I’m by myself with the kids in a house in Texas, 4,000 miles away from pretty much everyone I know,” Palin told the camera. “I get maybe 4 hours of sleep as it is, I’ve had this constant threat for 10 years. Super scary.” We can only imagine. 5. Tension Mounts Bristol took a few self-defense classes and learned that the the U.S. Marshals, FBI and Secret Service were on the lookout for the stalker. But then the issue turned into another source of contention between the estranged spouses. 6. Said Meyer: “How many times did I sit down with you and say we need to talk about scenarios, Bristol? How many times and what do you say, ‘I just don’t want to think about it.’ View Slideshow
Dakota Meyer is holding nothing back when it comes to his ex-wife. Quite the extreme opposite, in fact. As Teen Mom OG viewers have seen clearly over the past few weeks, Meyer and Bristol Palin did not end their marriage on good terms several months back. Their relationship fell apart due to Meyer’s ongoing PTSD, which he has struggled with ever since losing nearly his entire military team during a battle in Afghanistan. It’s a tragic and very true story, but it’s been overshadowed of late by the ugly back-and-forth between Meyer and Palin. Just last week, for example, on the latest episode of Teen Mom, Bristol said she was heartbroken because Meyer ditched her son , Tripp, as soon as his romance with Palin was over. (Bristol has this son with ex-fiance Levi Johnston and shares two younger daughters with Meyer.) “He hasn’t reached out to Tripp and Tripp is crushed by it,” Bristol told a producer on air of Meyer. “It breaks my heart.” Is this really the case, however? Has Meyer not maintained a relationship with the nine-year, to whom he grew very close as a stepfather for years? No, Meyer said a couple days ago on his Instagram Story. “I never got the opportunity to [stay close to Tripp after my divorce,]” he explained. “I don’t have custody of Tripp. It’s hard enough for his own dad to get to see him!” That’s some strong, subtle shade right there. Added Meyer: “When you have a stepchild, you don’t get the rights to that stepchild when you get divorced. If they’re under 18 you have to go through their mother to get them.” Because, according to Meyer, Bristol has not let him actually see Tripp, Dakota says he hasn’t tried to reach out in other ways because he doesn’t want to essentially tease the child: “Am I supposed to call Tripp up and mess with his mind and then when Bristol’s pissed with me, she’s not going to let me see him? I’m not going to mess with him. “He’s had enough of that.” Meyer and Palin got divorced way back in February. The split is only relevant again because we’re watching it play out each week on Teen Mom OG. All this time later, how does Meyer feel about the break-up? Does he have any regrets? HECK NO! “When you get rid of the cancer in your life, you can go live,” Meyer said this week about the situation Yikes, right? Wow. Meyer has been very open about his depression and anxiety, both of which are related to his PTSD. But he says here that his mental health has improved significantly since he stopping seeing Bristol. “We talk about anxiety, do you know how many shots I’ve had to get in my neck [for anxiety] lately? None. “Since Bristol moved out of my house I haven’t had to get any shots in my neck. I haven’t had to take any Ketamine. I haven’t had to take any medication.” He has had to read about Palin calling him an evil liar , however. Still, he doesn’t regret marrying her only because he got his two kids out of the relationship. And also because Palin basically showed Meyer exactly what he does NOT want out of a partner. “Before Bristol I couldn’t have appreciated a good woman in my life… “But now, [after] being treated like shit by somebody, I understand what it’s like to be treated terrible and not have someone give a shitt about you and be stuck with them, and have to put up with that,” he said on Instagram. “I think it was a plan by God of working on me. I don’t think it was a mistake. “I think it was God using her to put me in a situation that sucked real bad and to be worked on.” Well… okay then! They do say the Lord works in mysterious ways, right? View Slideshow: Bristol Palin: Dakota Meyer Has Ditched My Son… and It Sucks!
Audrey and Jeremy Roloff are no longer cast members on Little People, Big World. But this doesn't mean you've seen or heard the last from the former TLC personalities. Far from it, in fact. Aside from penning a memoir and constantly updating their social media feeds, Audrey and Jeremy will be coming out with a podcast . They announced this big step several weeks ago, but didn't reveal the name of the planned podcast…. UNTIL NOW! Audrey has written a lengthy Instagram post in promotion of the endeavor, including with it the highly-anticipated name. So, what are you waiting for?!? Find out below! 1. Audrey Builds the Hype… She opened the Instagram post that confirmed the name as follows: “As Jer and I were talking about the kind of content that we gravitate to the most, it’s always the behind the scenes stuff. We love when people share the whys and hows of what they do and the struggle behind their success! We want our podcast to feel relatable, real and refreshing. We want it to inspire you, challenge you, relate to you, and defintely make you laugh” 2. Fair Enough. Go On, Auds… “so….we are calling our podcast … BEHIND THE SCENES,” she then announced. Yup, that’s it. Just “Behind the Scenes.” No need for any confusing puns here! 3. Is There an Instagram Page for It Yet? Yup. Go ahead and follow @behindthescenespodcast if you so desire. 4. What Can Listeners Expect From It? Teases Audrey: “We are going to share the messy, honest, unfiltered and not so curated parts of our life. We are going to share the behind the scenes reality of OUR life, AND the lives of the people who inspire us the most!” 5. What Else Can Audrey Say About It? “We are talking you behind the scenes of our social media feeds, blogs, and ministries. We are going to talk honestly and openly about relationships, family, faith, business and whatever we are learning about, fighting about, or laughing about lately. We’re going to share our failures, struggles, and embarrassing stories.” 6. Come On Over. Be Our Friend. “We hope this podcast will feel more like an invitation to our dinner table,” continued Audrey. “We’ll share what we are learning, who we are learning from, and our roses and thorns – aka highs and lows – from the week. Think of this podcast as a bunch of bloopers with some truth bombs sprinkled throughout.” View Slideshow
At this point, we think it’s safe to say that the addition of Bristol Palin to the cast of Teen Mom OG hasn’t panned out quite way producers expected. Bristol was supposed to be a massive ratings magnet, a fact that’s evidenced by the fact that despite being a newcomer, she already gets paid more than any of the other moms . But thus far, audiences have proven mostly indifferent to Palin. There are many theories as to why this might be: Perhaps too much of the show’s target demographic is too young to recall Bristol’s rise to fame during the 2012 presidential election. Or perhaps they simply don’t care. Maybe those who said there was no need to tinker with the cast or replace the fired Farrah Abraham were right all along. Or maybe the show has simply run its course and it’s time to call it quits. Whatever the case, producers are still hoping that the choice to add Bristol to the cast will eventually pan out — and they’re doing everything they can to make that happen. On this week’s episode, viewers were re-introduced to Palin’s first infamous baby daddy, Levi Johnston, and drama ensued immediately. If you’ve been watching the show, you know that Bristol has talked a mountain of trash about Levi in her first few episodes. Bristol has described her relationship with Levi as “rocky” and accused her ex of not being a “solid” father figure in the life of their 9-year-old son, Tripp. She even claimed that Levi never watched Tripp overnight until the boy was 4 years old. Now, Levi’s current wife, Sunny Johnston, is coming to her husband’s defense in a major way. Johnston says that while Bristol is technically correct in her claim that Tripp never spent the night in his first years, she claims Palin is leaving out one important detail: The boy never spent the night with Johnston because Palin allegedly wouldn’t let him. “I asked Levi, he said that right after Tripp was born for a while. And then he wasn’t allowed to have him overnight,” Sunny wrote on Instagram following this week’s episode. “Then when they were engaged when Tripp was one-and-a-half [he] had a few weeks of overnights,” she added. “As long as I’ve been in the picture: Levi was never allowed to have Tripp overnight until the court ordered it when he was around three despite trying to be there for all the years prior.” One fan asked Johnston if she gets along with Bristol, and Levi’s bride was refreshingly candid in her response: “Okay I’ve gotten this a lot so I’m going to answer,” Sunny wrote. “Honestly, I never know what to expect so that’s hard to answer. I just pray for Levi and her to always keep striving to have a better co-parenting relationship for Tripp. “It’s never her and I unless I’m alone with Tripp,” Johnston added. “Always Levi and her, and every once in a while through a group text about Tripp.” So it sounds like we may be in for serious conflict between Bristol and Sunny. At this point, that’s about the only thing that could save Bristol’s career as a reality star. View Slideshow: Bristol Palin: Dakota Meyer Has Ditched My Son… and It Sucks!
