To protect them against the vengeful Volturi, of course. Pictured are the American Nomad, the Amazon coven, the Egyptian coven, the Denali coven, Carlisle Cullen and family, the Irish coven and many others. The epic vampire battle begins November 16 … In addition to this pic and seven minutes of new footage shown at Comic-Con , Summit also released a dozen new posters for the Twilight Saga’s final chapter. Noticeably absent are the big three – Robert Pattinson ‘s Edward Cullen, Kristen Stewart’s Bella Swan and Taylor Lautner’s Jacob Black – but we can only assume a mega-reveal of posters for that trio is still to come in the near future. Which ‘Twilight’ Character Would Win Hunger Games?

For ‘Twilight’ Tuesday, we imagine the vampires and wolves in a battle to the death. By Kara Warner Taylor Lautner in “Breaking Dawn” Photo: Summit Like most of our fellow “Twilight” fans, we spend a lot of time thinking about and overanalyzing the mythical world Stephenie Meyer created and the record-breaking film franchise it spawned. And even though we still have too many months to wait to see “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” the wait was made slightly less painful this week due to a couple of new trailer teases . Since we’ve had the series on the brain more than usual this week, along with the countless stories about “The Hunger Games” reaching “Twilight”-level numbers, I’ve decided to philosophize my way through this week’s “Twilight” Tuesday with the question: If the Cullens and the wolf pack were featured in a “Hunger Games”-style, fight-to-the-death tournament organized by the Volturi (of course), who would come out a victor? The first thing to address is who would be reaped into the tournament? And how many? If we go with 24, the ranks are difficult to fill out due to a lack of named weres. Nevertheless, here are the contenders (including a few of those who don’t live through the end of the series): Bella Swan, Edward Cullen, Jacob Black, Carlisle Cullen, Esme Cullen, Alice Cullen, Emmett Cullen, Rosalie Hale, Jasper Hale, Renesmee Cullen, Sam Uley, Quil Ateara V, Embry Call, Paul Lahote, Jared Cameron, Leah Clearwater, Seth Clearwater, Collin Littlesea, Brady Fuller, James, Victoria, Laurent, Riley Biers and one of the unnamed wolves from the end of “Breaking Dawn” who show up as part of Sam’s pack. Whew. Now, who will be defeated and how? My colleague Katie Byrne makes the very astute point that the Cullens are total pacifists and will not kill each other, no matter what. I say that Jasper might be the one to crack, since he doesn’t always have total control over his actions, but the rest of the Cullens will probably rein him in and quarantine him or something. Also, as much as it pains me to admit it, the vampires will likely outlast the werewolves (confession: I prefer wolves to vamps), particularly the Cullens with their supernatural abilities. But again, would the Cullens allow the seemingly needless fights-to-the-death to happen? This is a Volturi-created death match after all, so they might make like the end of “Breaking Dawn – Part 2” and save everyone. Except for James, Victoria, Laurent and Riley, of course. Ms. Byrne argues that if the Volturi did somehow succeed in making the tournament end in death and destruction, the Cullens would all join hands, eat a few handfuls of nightlock (assuming that the poisonous berry also works on non-humans), and end the “Games” with a civilized, non-bloody mass suicide. Or the Volturi might recognize the Cullens’ value (just like the Gamemakers did) and let them live — under the constant threat of death and destruction, that is. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Trailer: A Closer Look

We break down the key scenes in the latest ‘Twilight Saga’ sneak peek. By Jocelyn Vena and Josh Wigler Robert Pattinson in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” trailer Photo: Summit Entertainment Lots of romance, a touch of action and even a vampire/human birthing scene are all included in the latest “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” trailer . After dropping a trailer during June’s MTV Movie Awards, the newest teaser fleshes out the moments that fans will salivate over most when the Bill Condon-directed film opens in November. Check out our five favorite moments in the new “Breaking Dawn” trailer. Hit play on the embedded video as we walk through some of the key moments in the trailer, then read on for a deeper exploration of what’s going on in the “Breaking Dawn” footage. The Wedding The trailer opens with the ethereal wedding, as Bella and her father come to terms with her decision to marry her vampire lover, Edward. Dad is reserved but offers his assurance that he’ll never let Bella fall, serving as a sort of theme for the trailer: Everyone seems to be resigned to the Edward/Bella marriage. Jacob’s Goodbye “You think I’d be used to telling you goodbye by now,” Jacob says as he embraces his unrequited love. It seems, much like Bella’s father, that while Jacob may not be completely onboard, all he wants is for Bella to be happy. The Honeymoon Sweeping and romantic, the honeymoon has everything Twilighters have been waiting for, including boat rides, skinny dipping and that already teased bed-breaking love scene. “Last night was the best night of my existence,” Edward says — and fans will no doubt agree with that sentiment. Labor Pains As shocked as Bella is by her pregnancy, everyone’s reactions are just as dramatic. With one warning from her new father-in-law, Carlisle Cullen — “Your heart will give out before you can deliver” — a chain of events is set into motion. Edward worries his bride won’t survive, and the wolves warn, “We don’t know what they bred. We have to protect the tribe before it’s too late.” Special Delivery With fans clamoring over any footage of the much-discussed labor scene, now they finally get a taste of the pain and turmoil Bella will face as she tries to bring her baby into the world. While it answers that question, it raised another: Just how will “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” end and where will “Part 2” pick up? What’s your favorite part of the trailer? Tell us in the comments! Nikki Reed Was ‘Intimidated’ By Rosalie’s Backstory In ‘Eclipse’

‘I know that the fans have expectations,’ she tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Nikki Reed Photo: Damian Vaca/ MTV News “Twilight” was all about Bella and Edward. Then in “New Moon,” Jacob really stepped it up. While “Eclipse” definitely focuses on the love triangle, fans also get to learn a bit more about their friends and family. When Nikki Reed had to shoot Rosalie’s backstory, her biggest moment yet in “The Twilight Saga,” she was feeling the pressure. “I was torn, because I was definitely looking forward to it. I mean, I read the first three books before we began filming ‘Twilight,’ so I knew what I had in store if we made all three movies,” she told MTV News about going back in time and showing the fans Rosalie’s story. “But I was obviously very intimidated, and I felt a little insecure, and I was nervous, and maybe I should not be saying all these things, but I was.” For those unfamiliar with the “Twilight” series ( spoiler alert! ), when she was a human, Rosalie was attacked by a group of men, including her fianc

‘Eclipse’ ‘Exceeded All My Expectations,’ Peter Facinelli Says

‘Seeing the whole Cullen tribe just roll up their sleeves and go to town? That’s pretty exciting,’ he tells MTV News. By Larry Carroll, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Peter Facinelli backstage at the 2010 Movie Awards Photo: MTV News UNIVERSAL CITY, California — Take a deep breath, sit down and get ready for some news that might make you angry, folks: Somebody out there in the world has seen “Eclipse” — and it’s not you. “I just saw it two days ago,” a hot new film reviewer who simply bills himself as “The Fatch” told us Sunday at the MTV Movie Awards . “To see that movie [was amazing]; it exceeded all my expectations.” OK, in case you haven’t figured it out yet, “The Fatch” is actually Peter Facinelli. And he saw the film because he has one key advantage over ordinary people like ourselves: He plays family patriarch Dr. Carlisle Cullen in the “Twilight” films. So, needless to say, he’s got a few strings he can pull from time to time. “I love the battle sequence,” Facinelli said of his favorite scene in the movie, a briefly-glimpsed-in-the-trailers climax that has Jasper, Emmett, Alice and the rest throwing down alongside werewolves as they take on a ravenous army of newborn vampires. “I’ve got to tell ya — seeing the whole Cullen tribe just roll up their sleeves and go to town? That’s pretty exciting.” It’s no secret that the “Twilight” stars love the MTV Movie Awards and have annually made the trek — not just to pick up some Golden Popcorn, but also to re-energize themselves with a powerful reminder of why they’re working so hard on this massive franchise. According to Facinelli, Sunday was another lesson on why it’s time to get to work promoting “Eclipse” and then dive right into “Breaking Dawn” madness. “It’s all the fans. I mean, I’m humbly overwhelmed by their support and love of these movies,” Facinelli marveled. “I hope they enjoy ‘Eclipse’ just as much, if not more. It’s my favorite book of the series, and it was a high-water mark for me going in.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com . Jennie Garth Confirms: Robert Pattinson is Dating a Co-Star!
