Sincerely, Lovers of Life A 55-year-old man nearly met his maker recently when TWO pitbulls had him confused with steak and bacon bits and started eating at him for dinner. The whole incident was captured on video, showing the animals dragging and mauling the Bronx man as neighbors tried to help save the man’s life. Via NYDN : After the pets lunged at the man, a good Samaritan tried to wrangle them in on their leashes, according to video filmed from a nearby apartment on Belmont Avenue between 187th and 188th Streets. The beasts kept up their assault as the victim twisted on the ground and the other man stepped over him to try to protect him. As the woman filming the video screamed and called police, about eight neighbors jumped in to stop the attack, including those who appeared to be armed with a hose, a whip and a bat. A man with a hose sprayed the pit bulls, who kept attacking the victim as good Samaritans swarmed. At one point, the pitbulls bit the man’s shoulders and pulled him closer to the curb. The dog’s owner, Cynthia Oliver, has rightfully been arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and recklessly causing serious injury. The man was taken to a local hospital and remains in stable condition. As for the dogs, they were taken to Animal Care and Control. Should the dogs be put to “sleep”?
