Scandal Season 5 Episode 16 Recap: A Step Too Far?

Did Olivia Pope finally go too far on  Scandal Season 5 Episode 16 ? WATCH SCANDAL ONLINE! Following Susan’s stunning victory in the first Republican debate, the Oval Office hopeful found herself in OPA’s crosshairs this week For what reason? Not only was Susan never technically married to her so-called husband (the veteran who died serving in Afghanistan… whose sad story clinched her win), but he wasn’t even the father of her daughter. Nope. That title belongs to Ronnie, Susan’s high school sweetheart who is currently behind bars on drug charges. Oh, yes. Talk about a potentially major scandal. (Sorry.) Where did Olivia come into all of this? Going against Fitz’s advice, which he passed along via an epic fight, she leaked the paternity tests to the public in order to screw Susan over. But this led to Ronnie hanging himself in prison on the night of a bombshell television interview. Olivia took the suicide hard, sharing a friendly drink with her important ex-boyfriend to close the hour. She required a pep talk from Marcus in order to do so. Despite Cyrus’ warnings, Alex leaked Olivia’s tip about Edison’s time in rehab, which led to a great deal of embarrassment for both candidates… along with a promotion for Cyrus. Edison’s camp succeeded in convincing a nurse to fib about the “false” claims, sending Frankie into a total rage that concluded with his brother getting a demotion.  Over at Davis headquarters, Rowan the type of hell that only he can after Edison attempted to blame Olivia for the rehab issue, much to the amusement of Jake. He just sat there, munching away on some chicken. Hollis proposed the building of a “wall” at the debate and said some very sexist things. Hmmm… we wonder is this candidate is based on a certain Republican front-runner? What did you think of Scandal this week? Kylie Jenner Hypes New Lip Gloss with Baffling Music Video

Kylie Jenner is adding a new lineup of products to the  Kylie Jenner Lip Kit . This in and of itself is nothing new. But this most definitely is: the 18-year old has released a music video in promotion of these additions. Yes, an actual music video. In a puzzling piece of footage, Jenner drives down a dirt road in her Rolls Royce while rocking a Louis Vuitton scarf. She then pulls up on front a motel, where some type of trade is taking place. Kylie proceeds to whip out her new baby pink lip gloss, which prompts her friends to stage a raid that involves punching and many dollars bills. This squad then flees with the cash, jumping into a getaway car with Kylie, and we’re left to wonder what’s to come. We're not making any of this up, people. The video concludes with the women getting arrested, posing in a police lineup. Colin Tilley directed the video, but sources tell TMZ that Kylie came up with the concept and was a producer on the shoot, likely receiving some help from boyfriend Tyga . The three new shades, which are available now, are called “Like” (light brown), “Literally” (mauve-y beige) and “So Cute” (pale pink). Each of these words/phrases pops up at one point during the video. See it for yourself:

DJ Khaled’s ‘Take It To The Head’ Video Is A Blockbuster

For video, premiering Sunday on MTV Jams, ‘We got nothin’ but megastars,’ Khaled tells MTV News. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Sway Calloway DJ Khaled, Rick Ross and Drake in the video for “Take It To The Head” Photo: MTV News Blockbuster songs deserve blockbuster video treatments, and DJ Khaled made sure his new single, “Take It to the Head,” had a big visual to match. When your track features Lil Wayne , Chris Brown , Nicki Minaj and Rick Ross, there isn’t much choice. “I told [director] Colin [Tilley] when I called him, ‘We gotta video, we gotta do the best video, we gotta win awards, and you gotta really take it there because we got nothin’ but megastars on one record,” DJ Khaled told MTV News’ Sway Calloway from the Universal Studios set where he shot the video at the end of April. Last summer, Khaled hosted “I’m on One,” an inescapable rap jam that partnered Lil Wayne, Drake and Rick Ross for the first time. It seemed that the #1 Billboard rap single would be hard to top, but with Nicki Minaj and Chris Brown on “Take it to the Head,” the Cash Money DJ is making a serious run for hip-hop’s 2012 summer anthem. The stakes are high, and the video, which premieres Sunday on MTV Jams, is equally as huge. The video set is reminiscent of the 1974 disaster film “Earthquake,” where most of Los Angeles is destroyed by a quake that registers 9.9 on the Richter scale. “Colin Tilley is an amazing director, so he had this amazing idea where he wanted fire behind us, trains broken, ground shaking,” Khaled described. “We’re giving you new stuff.” Related Artists DJ Khaled Rick Ross Drake

Chris Brown’s VMA-Nominated ‘Look At Me Now’: Frame By Frame

‘Seeing them together performing was so cool live,’ director Colin Tilley says of clip featuring Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. By Jocelyn Vena Chris Brown in the “Look at Me Now” video Photo: Jive Chris Brown’s eye-catching clip for “Look at Me Now” is up for two Video Music Awards this year. It’s battling it out for Best Collaboration thanks to assists by Lil Wayne and Busta Rhymes, as well as Best Hip-Hop Video . The video’s neon-colored visuals came courtesy of director Colin Tilley, who has worked with Brown on five other music videos. When MTV News sat down with Tilley to take us through the clip frame by frame in anticipation of Sunday’s 2011 Video Music Awards, he explained that the video, much like the song, was a collaboration that was as fun to watch on set as it is for fans to watch the finished product. The visuals include lots of graffiti artwork, some of which was created by Brown himself. “Chris actually did a lot of pieces, like custom pieces, before we even did the video,” Tilley recalled. “We came in there a day early and he did some really cool custom pieces.” The one non-graffiti piece that really stands out in the video is the cage that Brown hangs out in. It went through some changes before it became the tricked-out version that appears in the video. “The birdcage, it started off more like a ‘Thunderdome’-type thing, but once we got the gold cage and we put the speakers and the gold mask, it just kind of created this really awesome thing,” he said. “This dance routine was crazy,” he continued about the next scene. “When I was cutting the video, I was having a hard time trying to get as much dance as possible … it was so good from start to finish. It was well-choreographed.” The real focus of the video is the stars themselves, who impressed Tilley. “We have Busta, Lil Wayne and Chris Brown together, all on top of an ambulance, with just so much stuff going on around them,” he said. “The ambulance’s roof actually caved in after the shoot was over.” Busta and Brown had a certain magic in their scenes. “Seeing them together performing was so cool live,” he said. “Busta Rhymes, seeing him perform this for the first time, I was shocked — he literally does not breathe [as he raps].” “Lil Wayne, of course, we had him perform in front of the DeLorean,” Tilley added. “We just put all these other things around him portraying that energy … when he steps on set, his energy is so crazy.” All in all, the video was really about these three guys coming together and getting crazy in the clip. “It was an amazing collaboration,” he said. “They were all really cool. They were down to make something amazing, and seeing them work together was really cool. I think everything was so on point with us.” The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live on Sunday, August 28, from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Justin Bieber Finds Love In ‘Never Let You Go’ Video

Bieber visits the Bahamas with a lucky girl in the new clip. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber in his video for “Never Let You Go” Photo: Island In Justin Bieber’s last video , we saw him hanging with celebrity pals like Drake and Ludacris while winning back his girl with his killer bowling skills. But in his latest clip, Bieber is seen hanging out in the catacombs of Bahamian aquariums, surrounded by adorable teenage girls also gawking at the marine life. Bieber sings about love while surrounded by exotic fish in his new video, “Never Let You Go” . According to Ace Showbiz , Bieber’s love interest is played by up-and-coming actress Paige Hurd. The follow-up to “Baby” was directed by Colin Tilley and it was filmed in the Bahamas at the Atlantis resort earlier this year. Both singles are on Bieber’s recently released sophomore album, My World 2.0 . In this new clip, Bieber is seen performing on the beach and frolicking with Hurd. Bieber is definitely growing up a lot in this video — sharing near-kisses, touching and nuzzling with his girl. Shots of the pair in silhouette holding hands play into the video’s plot of two young teens falling in love in a very exotic locale. They eventually make their way out of the aquarium and out into the world where they share glances and Bieber displays his knack for Michael Jackson-esque dance moves. The video closes with shots of Bieber singing the line, “I’ll never let you go.” What do you think of Justin Bieber’s new video? Tell us in the comments!
