Source: The Washington Post / Getty Stacey Abrams had some time to squash those pesky rumors that she might be considering being Joe Biden’s Vice President pick. “I think you don’t run for second place,” Abrams, who lost her governor bid for Georgia last November , told hosts on The View on Wednesday morning . However, she did reveal that she’s open to other options, which may include running for President of the United States, re-running for the governor’s seat in Georgia or even running for Senate. When pressed if she was indeed planning on throwing her own hat into the presidential ring, the 45 -year-old replied, “I do not know if I’m running. I’m thinking about everything. Part of my opportunity right now is that I have a number of options I didn’t know about before.” Adding, “If I’m going to enter a primary then I’m going to enter a primary. In fact, Abrams reminding McCain that no one has seen the report. Instead, what has been seen is the summary written by Attorney General Barr, a man President Trump appointed. “It’s like your brother summarizing your report card to your parents,” Abrams joked. She later said,” We don’t know the results of the Mueller report. We know the results of the summary of a reading of the report by a partisan who was just appointed by the person who is the subject of the report. The Democratic Party rising star also reminding McCain that collusion was just one of many issues the president was being investigated for. “But the Mueller report was not simply about collusion,” Abrams replied. “That was a pundit summary of a complicated question, which was happened preceding the 2016 election. I don’t know the answer because I haven’t seen the report.” Watch, Abrams snatch McCain’s wig off here: Its clear that Ms. Abrams is not the one. T he U.S. Senate’s only Black Republican, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, finally woke up to the fact that supporting President Trump ’s racist judicial nominee is a bad idea. See Also: Senate’s Only Black Republican Tim Scott Sells Out In Vote On Trump’s Racist Judge Nominee Scott said Thursday he planned to oppose the nomination of Thomas Farr to the federal district court in North Carolina, The State newspaper reported. On Wednesday, the senator reportedly hid in the Senate cloakroom for at least 45 minutes before coming forward to give his approval of Farr in a procedural vote—in fact, the deciding vote—that allowed the nomination to move forward. Scott’s new vow to oppose the nomination in the final confirmation vote, which was expected happen by Friday, assures that Farr will not be confirmed. This week, a Department of Justice memo written under President George H.W. Bush was released that shed new light on Mr. Farr’s activities. This, in turn, created more concerns. Weighing these important factors, this afternoon I concluded that I could not support Mr. Farr’s nomination,” Scott explained in a statement. Members of the Congressional Black Caucus had urged him to vote against Farr for the final confirmation, McClatchy News reported. There are good reasons for concern about Farr becoming a federal judge. He helped North Carolina create the state’s election law that was so blatantly racist that the Fourth Circuit struck it down . The court saw clearly that new rules in the law targeted African Americans “with almost surgical precision.” Farr was also part of the team that signed a consent decree with the Justice Department in 1992 to settle a DOJ complaint that former North Carolina Sen. Jesse Helms ’ 1990 re-election campaign intimidated Black voters. Helms ran against  Harvey Gantt,  the Black former mayor of Charlotte. Helms’ campaign sent postcards to 125,000 mostly Black eligible voters suggesting that they were ineligible to cast a ballot. It also warned that they could be prosecuted for voter fraud. Niecy Nash Claims She Was Disinvited From This Upscale Event Because She’s Black

This is a lesson the folks behind the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic had to learn when they allegedly disinvited the Emmy-nominee to their annual event in Los Angeles last Saturday (Oct. 6). The  Claws  star took to social media to share that she was personally invited to the event at Will Rogers Polo Club by the founder of The A List,  Ashlee Margolis , who hosts exclusive events for high end brands. But then all of a sudden, Niecy’s invitation was rescinded on the day of the A-list shindig. In a series of now-deleted tweets, she wrote the following: “My invite was rescinded bcuz I was the wrong caliber of guest,” she tweeted. “2x Emmy nominee. Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, #1 summer show  Claws . NOT white. Let’s see who makes the cut… smh.” She also stressed that she’s boycotting the Veuve Clicquot brand all together. “I wouldn’t come to your event if you paid me. Wait u wouldn’t. I’m not white.” Not to undermine Niecy’s feelings or sentiment, but there were a few Black celebs at the event including “Lyft Bae” Kendrick Sampson ,  Rosario Dawson  and  Harold Perrineau. Nevertheless, we still want to know why her invite was snatched away. Was it because she wasn’t the “right kind” of Black celebrity? Veuve Clicquot, y’all got some explaining to do! Cory Booker Has More Receipts On Kavanaugh As Activists Try To Shut Down Confirmation

I f civil rights activists are looking for a strong chance at stopping Brett Kavanaugh ‘s confirmation, then Cory Booker may just be it.  The Democratic New Jersey Senator released more documents about the Supreme Court nominee on Wednesday night. RELATED: Brett Kavanaugh’s Dangerous Relationship With Race In America, Explained It’s clear that Booker is pulling out all the stops when it comes to bringing the controversial nominee’s record to light. He had already released confidential documents about Kavanaugh last week under the threat of a Senate Ethics Committee review and losing his Senate seat. In adding 28 more documents to the paper trail, Booker, who clearly isn’t here for Trump’s pick, is showing no signs of backing down from challenging the confirmation. All docs available here: https://t.co/n9IGe5UNgg — Cory Booker (@CoryBooker) September 12, 2018 With Booker and other Democrats’ fighting Kavanaugh replacing retired Justice Anthony Kennedy, the question is whether the Senate will consider the documents in their decision making. The documents are food for thought for the Senate Judiciary Committee, who met Thursday to discuss the matter. Senators will vote on the confirmation later this month, according to The Associated Press . The new batch of documents covers Kavanaugh’s role in judicial nominations and in the White House counsel’s office during the George W. Bush administration. The papers “raise more serious and concerning questions,” Booker said. Some documents show Kavanaugh’s connection to Bush’s nomination of Charles Pickering to the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in New Orleans — a 2002 move that was met with Senate opposition and questions about Pickering, a then-Mississippi federal judge, being racist. Pickering ultimately got the court seat. Kavanaugh testified before the committee that he was not “substantially involved” in Pickering’s nomination. At this point, senators have a total of 75 documents on the table about the nominee. An unapologetic Booker is on a mission in vetting Kavanaugh, who has been viewed by activists as a candidate that would undermine civil rights progress under instruction from Trump.
