Source: The Washington Post / Getty Stacey Abrams had some time to squash those pesky rumors that she might be considering being Joe Biden’s Vice President pick. “I think you don’t run for second place,” Abrams, who lost her governor bid for Georgia last November , told hosts on The View on Wednesday morning . However, she did reveal that she’s open to other options, which may include running for President of the United States, re-running for the governor’s seat in Georgia or even running for Senate. When pressed if she was indeed planning on throwing her own hat into the presidential ring, the 45 -year-old replied, “I do not know if I’m running. I’m thinking about everything. Part of my opportunity right now is that I have a number of options I didn’t know about before.” Adding, “If I’m going to enter a primary then I’m going to enter a primary. In fact, Abrams reminding McCain that no one has seen the report. Instead, what has been seen is the summary written by Attorney General Barr, a man President Trump appointed. “It’s like your brother summarizing your report card to your parents,” Abrams joked. She later said,” We don’t know the results of the Mueller report. We know the results of the summary of a reading of the report by a partisan who was just appointed by the person who is the subject of the report. The Democratic Party rising star also reminding McCain that collusion was just one of many issues the president was being investigated for. “But the Mueller report was not simply about collusion,” Abrams replied. “That was a pundit summary of a complicated question, which was happened preceding the 2016 election. S tacey Abrams  has been running for governor of Georgia against Brian Kemp , who is also the secretary of state of Georgia, which means he oversees elections. Kemp was clearly afraid that his racist voter suppression tactics may not seal the deal for him, which is why his latest fear-mongering tactic was so laughable. He exploded on Twitter on Election Day eve that the New Black Panther Party was endorsing Abrams. The Black Panthers are a radical hate group with a racist and anti-Semitic agenda. They are dangerous and encourage violence against our men and women in uniform.” The original Black Panther Party, which was founded by Bobby Seale and the late Huey Newton , officially ended in 1982. In 1989 , a fringe organization called The New Black Panther Party began. It has been denounced by original Black Panthers and the even the NAACP. Kemp was clearly jumping on this “endorsement” from a group that has no political or social relevance in the Black community. Coincidence? Black People In Georgia Typically Get The Oldest Voting Machines, Increasing Chances Of Error

A n often overlooked way that suppression of Black votes occurs has been through the use of ancient, error-prone paperless voting machines. Many of these ATM-style pieces of aging equipment have been around for nearly two decades and were riddled with known problems. Still, they were being used for Tuesday’s pivotal Midterm elections that carry a world of political consequence. The practice was particularly problematic in Georgia, where all voters were using the same equipment. But there was an important distinction to be made: voters in the poorest communities, which many times is synonymous for where Black folks live, tend to have the oldest of the machines made available to them, increasing errors for a demographic that has traditionally been underserved politically. “The counties and cities with the fewest resources are voting on the oldest equipment that tend to have the most problems,”  Edgardo Cortés , an election security advisor at the Brennan Center for Justice’s Democracy Program, confirmed to NewsOne during an interview on Monday. Cortés said the Brennan Center, a nonpartisan law and policy institute at New York University Law School, has been making a big push nationally, including in Georgia, to get states and local governments to get rid of the paperless equipment. Using them could result in voters continuing to see their votes being switched, as was the case in Georgia during early voting in the weeks leading up to Election Day. That probability far outweighed the chances of any electronic interference, Cortés said. Making matters worse, there is no paper trail that could verify the voter’s intent. See Also: Judge Rejects Brian Kemp’s Georgia Absentee Ballot Suppression Attempt Not including printed paper or provisional ballots, there were only five states nationwide that were exclusively using paperless electronic voting machines that don’t provide printed documentation of the voter’s choices. Those states are Delaware, Georgia, Louisiana, New Jersey, and South Carolina. Another eight states, including Texas and Pennsylvania, were also using paperless machines in some of their jurisdictions. Predictably, the problem all came down to money for these states’ underserved communities. “They don’t have the finances and resources to switch out the newer equipment,” Cortés said. “Because of that, you start to see a divide in the voting experience depending on where you live.” Georgia’s election was under a microscope for good reason. Electronic machines there have been  vulnerable to hacking and were  notoriously prone to errors . The main problem involved voters selecting a candidate on the screen before the machine automatically cast the ballot for a different candidate. Errors with the machines tended to involve voter selections automatically switching from Democratic to Republican candidates. All hands are on deck working overtime to help flex the power of the Black vote for the midterm elections. #RepresentTheVote https://t.co/SKgVhIeqHz — NewsOne (@newsone) November 2, 2018 Compounding those reports was the glaring conflict of interest from Georgia Secretary of State Brian Kemp , the Republican candidate for governor who was also overseeing the state’s election system. He was running against Stacey Abrams , who could make history as the nation’s first African-American woman governor. The two candidates were in a neck-and-neck race, so faulty machines could conceivably hand the election to Kemp. This all came against the backdrop of voting rights groups filing federal lawsuits against Kemp for rejecting certain absentee ballots , blocking approximately 53,000 voter registration forms and purging some 700,000 voters from the state’s voting rolls—all targeting Black voters. The problems with Georgia’s electronic machines were not new, and Kemp has long resisted using a paper ballot backup system since there was no incentive to change it because the errors favor his party. With Election Day here, it’s too late to make changes to the equipment. Cortés advised voters to review their summary screen before casting their vote to ensure that their choices were selected. And as a contingency, officials should maintain enough paper and provisional ballots on hand if machines don’t work. Sure. 5. The Modesty! “I was once the girl buying all those magazines and now I’m on the cover and in magazines and am the star of every occasion,” Farrah says. “I once strived to be the best in reality television and now I’m the top reality star and top 10 listed female celebrity in the nation.” The top 10 listed female celebrity, guys. The Real Housewives of New York City Season Finale Recap: All’s Well That Doesn’t End Well

It’s The Real Housewives of New York City and “All’s Well that Doesn’t End Well” in this season finale. As a matter of fact there are moments when it’s downright painful. We recap the anger, arguments, and lack of apologies in THG’s +/- review. Has anyone else had enough of the new girls this season?  Aviva is crazy but it’s hard to be entertained when she’s screeching every time she’s on the screen.  On the flip side Heather and Carole are simply boring.  Minus 20 . But back to our recap…Aviva brings her father along to Carole’s ping pong charity event.  All the man has to do is stay away from Ramona but apparently that’s too much to ask.  Minus 12. He’s got to go over and try to bait Mario.  At least Mario keeps everything civil. The ping pong event looked like a lot and something different from your normal fundraiser. Plus 9 .  And an extra plus 3 for Carole’s preppy little ping pong outfit that made her look like she just stepped out of 1955. Plus 10 to Heather who tells Aviva once again that she’s sick of having the same conversation where Aviva bitches about Ramona.  Unfortunately I doubt it will change anything. The next event is Heather’s fashion show to raise money for organ donation.  It features her Yummy Tummy collection and she asks Aviva to walk in the show.  What could go wrong? Just before she’s about to hit the catwalk, Aviva tells Heather she doesn’t want to wear the jacket.  Heather’s planned this show down to the finest detail and the jacket is part of the outfit.  She explains this to Aviva but apparently it goes in one ear and out the other. Aviva chooses to walk sans jacket anyway.  Minus 15 .  What a selfish, arrogant…I don’t want to start name calling. I’ll start to sound like Aviva. But Heather takes the high road and decides to let it go.  Plus 11 for being the better person. Unfortunately her good will is all used up by the time she comes face to face with Sonja and Ramona. Minus 10 because Ramona and Sonja are horribly rude during the runway show.  They’re loud and obnoxious and I’m not sure they ever even looked up at the catwalk. Sonja seemed just fine about the toaster oven packaging at the meeting but once she and Ramona start interrogating the photographer, things are no longer so happy. What Sonja and Ramona seem to forget is that all of this was done for free!  How can Sonja possibly complain about anything? The wave of discontent spills over into Carole’s book party.  After hearing the summary of her book, I don’t think I’d ever buy it. Minus 9. Then Heather’s husband asks Ramona about Aviva and Aviva’s antennae go wild.  It’s like she’s just waiting for Ramona to speak her name so she can go on the attack. Aviva completely loses it once again and Ramona soon follows. Minus 12 . It would be entertaining if we hadn’t watched this same scene ten time this season.  I’m with Heather on this one.  How many times can you listen to the same fight? Aviva seems torn between George being a hero and a victim.  And Minus 10 to Heather and Carole. At Ramona’s fundraiser they seemed to take her side that George was wrong but now with Aviva screeching like a lunatic, they back her.   I think being two faced is a prerequisite for being on a Housewives show. In the end the recap is pretty boring… Ramona is still keeping her distance from Aviva…until an exorcism can be performed.  I don’t blame her. Sonja’s life with her ex and her toaster oven is still in limbo. Heather’s got nothing new going on. LuAnn and Jacques are letting nature take it’s course. Sounds like baby making is on shaky ground. Aviva still waiting for an apology from Ramona. Carole’s working on making her book into a TV show and she and Russ are now officially dating. Ho hum.  Perhaps we do need Aviva screaming at Ramona to keep things interesting.  Will anything new come out at next week’s reunion? EPISODE TOTAL: -55! SEASON TOTAL: -355!

Fred Willard Explains Arrest, Adult Movie Theater Adventure

At least Fred Willard is able to laugh at himself. Appearing on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon yesterday, a week after being arrested for allegedly having his pants down inside an adult movie theater in Los Angeles, the veteran comedian kicked off his interview with one question for the host: “What do you want to talk about first?” From there, the actor made a few more jokes (“It’s the last time I’m gonna listen to my wife when she says, ‘Why don’t you go out and see a movie?’”) before admitting he did stop by an “exotic” looking theater and it felt like “a trip down Alice in Wonderland and down the rabbit hole,” where he was the “only awake and sober and conscious” person in the theater. But seriously, folks. “It’s very embarrassing,” Willard said. “It’s embarrassing as hell! But let me say this: nothing happened. I did nothing wrong, everything’s being sorted out as we speak.” The actor has been fired from his gig at PBS, but is unlikely to face prosecution “I have great respect for the authorities,” Willard added. “I mean, when we need a policeman, God bless ‘em, they’re there. But, if you’re in the wrong place at the wrong time, everything seems suspicious. “But it’s very embarrassing. Very painful. And I’m trying to laugh it off.
