You’re Next Graffiti Art: Is Banksy at Fantastic Fest?

A cool bit of graffiti art popped up overnight at Fantastic Fest for Adam Wingard’s buzz film You’re Next , which screens later tonight. Passes to the hotly anticipated horror pic, which was picked up by Lionsgate after a Toronto Film Festival bidding war, sold out quickly online and with fest faves A.J. Bowen and director Ti West (who both star in the film) in town it’s one of the hot tickets for tonight. Is Banksy in our midst as well, spraying movie promos all over Austin? Or Mr. Brainwash? (Or both, if they’re the same person??)

Don’t Judge Darren Bousman’s ‘Mother’s Day’ By This Awful Sales Trailer

Darren Bousman’s home invasion horror pic Mother’s Day hasn’t had the easiest time while struggling to see the light of day. Shot back in 2009, it’s taken a long road to securing distribution, and earned mixed-to-mildly enthusiastic reviews among the fanboy elite at last September’s Fantastic Fest — not exactly the place to bow to “meh” reactions if you’re trying to generate genre buzz. But, hey; this newly unearthed foreign sales promo could be just the ticket to reversing that tide of bad luck!

Jersey Shore Fresh-to-Death Report Card: ‘Dirty Pad’

So before we crawl under a smush-couch cushion and curse the evil archangel who made Angelina the person she is, it’s time for our weekly exercise in guido evaluation, the Fresh-to-Death report card. Marks are posted after the jump, undergrads!

Attend Fantastic Fest From Your Couch

Austin, Texas, is nice, but sometimes you just want a film festival to come to you, you know? Enter Fantastic Fest, which kicked off yesterday and will offer four of this year’s selections on IFC on Demand starting next week. Among them you’ll find the demonic thriller Heartless , the psychological thriller Red, White & Blue , the mountain-climbing horror show High Lane , and the Ozploitation entry Primal . And they’re even bringing last year’s fave Human Centipede back because hey, what the hell. You’ll miss the Q&A’ s, alas, but it’s a trade-off for avoiding airport security. Enjoy!
