Stephen Collins, Faye Grant Finalize Divorce

Embattled actor Stephen Collins and his estranged wife Faye Grant have finalized their divorce, allowing them to avoid a public, contentious trial. The couple decided the terms this week. The settlement includes a 50/50 split of the sale of their pricey Brentwood homes but no spousal support for either. Neither Collins nor Grant are working right now, according to court papers filed on Friday, though Collins collected over $46,000 in residuals for 2014. The divorce has been ugly, to say the absolute least. Collins’ attorney argued that Grant lost her right to a financial settlement when she recorded her husband in a therapy session without his knowledge. Grant has denied that she leaked the tape, in which Stephen Collins admits to child molestation in one of the biggest celebrity scandals of 2014. Collins later spoke out about the tape, confirming it. 15 Celebrity Scandals That Rocked 2014 1. Stephen Collins Admits to Molesting Children Stephen Collins gained fame for playing the Reverend Eric Camden on wholesome family series 7th Heaven. In real life, Collins has been accused of molesting several children, and has confessed to at least one sexual assault. “Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since,” the actor said of abusing underage girls . He says he has sought help, and feels tremendous guilt. Calling himself a flawed person, he insists these actions are in the distant past, and said his therapy with Faye Grant was never, ever meant to go public. As for how that got out? The couple’s settlement papers included a lengthy, detailed section about the now-infamous recording that was made in 2012. All copies of the tape must be destroyed, the court said. The original Stephen Collins audio will be handed over to an independent lawyer, who will only release it in the event of a future criminal or civil proceeding. 13 TV & Movie Casts Who Have Come Back Together 1.
