Eric don’t play that! Eric Holder Blasts Critics In Newly Released Emails Eric Holder, the first black Attorney General who recently resigned from office , is being outed for blasting some of his critics in emails. In one in particular a very frustrated Holder suggested “some people can kiss my a**.” Welp! The Huffington Post reports: Newly released emails show Attorney General Eric Holder said that Justice Department prosecutors who were critical of the department’s handling of the fallout of the Fast and Furious gun-walking scandal could “kiss my a**.” Operation Fast and Furious was a botched effort by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives to track firearms across the Southwest border. Revelations about it created a political firestorm, leading to congressional investigations and turnover within the ATF and Justice Department. The Justice Department selectively provided a batch of emails this week to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee. The Associated Press obtained the emails on Friday. In one email from March 2011, after being sent a news story about the Fast and Furious investigation, Holder told staff, “I hope there is another side to the story.” Later, after the ATF deputy director assured Holder aides that “we did not allow guns to walk,” Holder responded to staff with, “Do they really, really know?” That August, Holder was told by staff that about 25 U.S. attorneys was upset that the resignation of Dennis Burke, then the U.S. attorney in Arizona, was announced simultaneously with the reassignment of ATF Acting Director Ken Melson. Holder wondered “why wouldn’t we get the benefit of the doubt. Assume we’re doing things for the right reasons and in the right way.” Holder later added, “Some people can kiss my a**.” It’s obvious that the Attorney General was at his wit’s end over the gun-walking scandal. Do you think what he said was fair or foul??
Nice! Chadwick Boseman Cast As First Black Headlining Superhero In “Black Panther” The Marvel Universe is getting an extra splash of color … Via USAtoday : “Welcome to the fray.” Robert Downey Jr. greeted Chadwick Boseman’s entry into the Marvel Cinematic universe Tuesday at the El Capitan Theater in L.A., where Marvel Studios unveiled a slate of movies that will have fanboys psyched until 2019. Boseman was cast as T’Challa, the ruler of Wakanda and the title superhero of Black Panther. The movie is scheduled for release Nov. 3, 2017, and will be part of Marvel’s “Phase 3″ slate beginning with Ant-Man in July. Introduced in 1966, Black Panther was the first black superhero in comics, and the film — in addition to a female-led Captain Marvel project in 2018 — infuses diversity into Marvel’s lineup of movie characters. After Downey told him to get used to a heap of applause from the gathered crowd, Boseman confirmed that Black Panther “is kind of his own guy. I’m blessed to be a part of this Marvel Universe, to work with you both, and to make magic together.” Black Panther is one of Marvel’s most interesting characters, said Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige. “He’s a bit of a prince, he may even become a bit of a king, but it’s all about how this isolationist country meets the world. Maybe it goes well, maybe it doesn’t.” This is big. Marvel is getting with the program and adding diversity. DC, it’s your move…
Bill Clinton Says He Loves Being Called The First Black President It’s no secret that former Democratic President Bill Clinton a was favorite among African-Americans during his time in office and he couldn’t be more proud. via L.A. Times Once again, Bill Clinton proved that being an ex-president, surrounded by the rosy glow of the past, beats being the current pilloried resident of the White House. A Wednesday night guest on comedian Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night ABC show, Clinton was tight-lipped about his family’s future political plans, leaving that to Hillary Rodham Clinton to eventually divulge, but embraced his 1992 moniker as the nation’s “first black president” — and the actual first black president. “I loved being called the first black president, but Barack Obama really is,” Clinton told Kimmel, to laughs. Clinton’s historic support among and affinity with African Americans became strained in 2008 when Hillary Clinton and Obama battled to become the Democratic party’s presidential nominee. Clinton pointed to that divide when he said that any differences between his family and Obama were resolved along with that primary fight. “You know, I’ve done what I could — since Hillary lost the primary, we’ve done everything we could to support him,” Clinton said. Then he turned to Obamacare, and pointed out that more than 7 million people signed up for healthcare coverage by Monday’s deadline. Clinton, of course, had battled for his own healthcare proposal when he took office, to no avail. Big Willy love his honorary black card!
