Did The Seattle Seahawks Trade Percy Harvin To The Jets For Deeming QB Russell Wilson Not “Quite Black Enough?”

SMH didn’t ninjas learn anything from the “cornball brother” fiasco ? Percy Harvin Traded From Seahawks Because Of Racial Tensions In Locker Room Over Russell Wilson’s Blackness Looks like another black man has lost his gig, at least partly because of the way he questioned another man’s blackness … According to NY Post reports : There are several theories behind the stunning trade of Percy Harvin to the Jets. One new one is his relationship — or in this case, lack thereof — with quarterback Russell Wilson. A story from Bleacher Report portrays a locker room increasingly divided over Wilson and raises the possibility of racial tension among the Seahawks. The report, citing an anonymous player, said Harvin had “increasing animosity” toward Wilson and was leading a faction of the team that was beginning to dislike the young Super Bowl-winning quarterback. The report, citing multiple interviews with Seahawks players, says some of the African-Americans on the team feel the multiracial Wilson “isn’t black enough.” Furthermore, there is the belief within the Seahawks that Wilson isn’t accountable for his own mistakes, often blaming teammates for poor throws. The good news for Harvin is he still has a job. But some of his teammates are PISSED! The Seahawks learned of the trade before getting on the bus and Marshawn Lynch was so upset that his homie was shipped off he tweeted about it . AP/WENN

Hi Hater: 90’s Singer Annie Lennox Slams Beyonce For Being A Fake Feminist “Twerking Is Not Feminism Or Empowering!”

Is Bey really a feminist ? Annie Lennox Says Beyonce Is Not A Feminist Via Gawker reports: On the road to promote her upcoming album Nostalgia, Annie Lennox has tried, it seems, to start something with Beyoncé. Sure, why not? Last month, she called Bey “feminist lite,” and in an interview with NPR’s Steve Inskeep yesterday, she clarified, “twerking is not feminism.” Lennox addressed the overt sexualization of women in music more broadly, explaining, The reason why I’ve commented is because I think that this overt sexuality thrust—literally—at particular audiences, when very often performers have a very, very young audience, like 7 years older, I find it disturbing and I think its exploitative. It’s troubling. I’m coming from a perspective of a woman that’s had children. Which, fine, but Beyoncé isn’t exactly a teen idol . Inskeep pushed Lennox, noting, “Some people will know that you specifically criticized Beyoncé for this the other day.” Lennox responded: “I was being asked about Beyoncé in the context of feminism, and I was thinking at the time about very impactful feminists that have dedicated their lives to the movement of liberating women and supporting women at the grass roots, and I was saying, ‘well that’s one end of the spectrum, and then you have the other end of the spectrum.’” She continued: “Listen, twerking is not feminism. Thats what I’m referring to. It’s not—it’s not liberating, it’s not empowering. It’s a sexual thing that you’re doing on a stage; it doesn’t empower you. That’s my feeling about it.” Beyoncé hasn’t responded, nor will she ever. Feminism is a well-documented legal and philosophical movement. Twerking is a dance but borrows from the idea that women should be able to be sexual creatures. Isn’t liberation what feminism is all about? Do you think Beyonce is a feminist for the modern woman??
