The Bachelorette Recap: Which Luke Did Hannah Choose?

Two Lukes entered on The Bachelorette this week, both hoping to enter Hannah Brown at some point. But only one Luke left. Indeed, the rare Tuesday installment of this beloved ABC franchise produced what amounted to a one-on-one battle for Hannah’s affections, following some serious back and forth between two men with the same first name. Would producers make Hannah choose the stalker-ish one who declared his ever-lasting love for her after about three hours? Or the one who warned her that this guy is a phony who isn’t exactly on the level? This is what it came down to for Brown this week, who jetted off to Scotland while pondering the decision and giving each suitor a forum with which he could trash the other. More or less, that is. At one point, Hannah pulled the two Lukes aside to get them to talk out their differences. The Bachelorette told these fellas, who previously got into a physical altercation on the rugby pitch, that she was irritated with their accusations against each other, along with their perceived dishonesty. “I’m not going to sit here and ever tell Hannah anything I don’t believe,” Luke P. said, adding he didn’t see Luke S. as “a fit” for the woman he wanted to be his wife. Added Luke Parker : “At the end of the day, I told Hannah how I feel. My feelings about you being here for the right reasons haven’t changed.” However, Luke S. wasn’t convinced his rival’s intentions were pure, telling him flat out: “With you, it’s just lie after lie, manipulation after manipulation. I wish Hannah could see what’s going on right now.” The viewers can see, of course. And numerous celebrities can see, having alerted Hannah to all the clear red flags Parker is basically waving high in the air . But Hannah continues to either be blinded by love or lust when it comes to this contestant. Very frustrated by the entire situation, she actually cancelled the night’s cocktail party, calling it a “confusing night” that ended a “hard week” at the subsequent rose ceremony. Announcing she intended to follow her instincts with the evening’s selection, Luke S. made a point to pull Hannah aside for the final time, telling her he intended to send himself home amid the drama. For real! “I would just urge you to keep your eyes open for … I think you know who I’m talking about,” he told her, obviously talking about that other, allegedly conniving Luke. You know, the one who did receive a rose from Hannah. “Luke P. is still here because my heart wants him to be here – my head doesn’t always want him to be here,” Hannah explained to the camera. She added: “It makes it really difficult to know what’s the best decision to make. We know we have chemistry, but there are red flags and I honestly haven’t had time to explore our relationship the way it needs to be explored.” She wants to have sex with him. We think that’s what Hannah is saying here. With Luke S. outta there due to his drama with the overwhelmingly disliked suitor, Jed warned the rest of the men to watch their backs going forward. “We’ll have to be really careful in this,” he told the group. “He will do anything to rise up. He will pull anyone down. He’s not a good dude, he’s proven it over and over again.” This is starting to sound more like Game of Thrones than The Bachelorette, huh? Tune in next week (on Monday!) to see who figurative dies and who figuratively lives — and click below to read through a bunch of The Bachelorette spoilers . Madonna: The Sexist New York Times "Made Me Feel Raped"

Madonna has never hesitated to call out her critics and body shamers , but this time, it’s a little different. In a new profile for the New York Times , she drew attention after describing her negative experiences with Harvey Weinstein. But now, on social media, Madonna is blasting the article and its author, calling both a tool of the patriarchy . Before we get into Madonna’s furious response to the article, the article itself is worth mentioning. The New York Times did a profile on Madonna, titled: “Madonna at Sixty.” The subtitle explained that it was a detailed look at Madonna’s view of “aging, inspiration, and why she refuses to cede control.” Within the profile, Madonna discusses how Harvey Weinstein “crossed lines and boundaries” with her. This allegedly went down during the making of her 1991 documentary, “Truth or Dare.” Madonna mentions that Weinstein had been “incredibly sexually flirtatious and forward with me when we were working together.” “I was aware that he did the same with a lot of other women that I knew in the business,” Madonna admits. Madonna is quoted as having operated under a mindset that Harvey Weinstein’s power made his behavior necessary to tolerate. “‘He’s so successful and his movies do so well and everybody wants to work with him,'” Madonna recalls feeling. “‘So you have to put up with it.'” We’ve heard that horrifying mentality from so many people. Terrible that it went on for decades. But her quotes regarding Weinstein may be the one thing that didn’t make Madonna furious about the article. Taking to her Instagram, the music legend put the New York Times on blast. She specifically excoriated the article’s author, a woman named Vanessa Grigoriadis. “To say that I was disappointed in the article would be an understatement,” Madonna writes. She goes on to accuse the article and newspaper of ageism, sexism, and of betraying her trust. “It seems,” Madonna reflects. “You can’t fix society.” She has certainly tried to do so over her career, but it seems that she is despairing that society has so much further to go. “And,” she continues, laying into society and “its endless need to diminish,  disparage or degrade that which they know is good.” Madonna observes: “Especially strong independent women.” Women like herself, she means. “The journalist who wrote this article spent days and hours and months with me,” Madonna writes. “And,” she notes, the writer “was invited into a world which many people dont get to see,” “But,” Madonna laments, the journalist “chose to focus on trivial and superficial matters such as the ethnicity of my stand in or the fabric of my curtains.” “And,” she points out. “Never ending comments about my age.” Madonna asserts, probably correctly, that this is something “which would never have been mentioned had I been a MAN!” “Women have a really hard time being the champions of other women,” Madonna expresses in despair. She says that this is true “even if. they are posing as intellectual feminists.” Everyone has blindspots, even within the feminist community. Madonna clearly has major regrets about this profile. “I’m sorry i spent 5 minutes with her,” Madonna writes. “It makes me feel raped,” Madonna writes. “And yes I’m allowed to use that analogy having been raped at the age of 19.” While we are deeply sorry for her horrific experience, most people feel that even rape survivors should be careful with their analogies. “Further proof that the venerable N.Y.T. Is one of the founding fathers of the Patriarchy,” she accuses. Patriarchal cultural forces are pernicious … and much, much older than the New York Times . Or the English language. Or writing itself. “And I say — DEATH TO THE PATRIARCHY woven deep into the fabric of Society,” Madonna expresses. She concludes: “I will never stop fighting to eradicate it.” View Slideshow: Donald Trump Impeachment Party: Who’s Attending?

The Bachelorette Spoilers: Shocking Conclusion to Luke P. vs. Luke S. Feud REVEALED!

Even before Hannah Brown’s season began, you didn’t need The Bachelorette spoilers to tell you that Luke Parker is a psychopath. You can’t keep that kind of insanity a secret. People were warning her about Luke even before he got out of the limo, petrified that it would be to whom Hannah Brown is engaged . (Actually, he climbed on top of the limo and snarled like a wild beast, which should have been all the red flag she needed.) The usually-chill Nick Viall called Luke out as a dangerous narcissist early on, and viewers quickly realized that was no exaggeration. Few reality shows have attracted as many douche bros as The Bachelorette , and Luke might be the douchiest of them all — which is really saying something. If you’ve been reading Bachelorette spoilers, you know that sadly, Luke’s con job is working like a charm, and Hannah won’t be 86-ing him anytime soon. (This is the point in the article where we inform you that further spoilers are coming.) (And if you wish to be surprised by the Bachelorette finale like it’s Game of Thrones or some s–t, you should read no further.) Luke makes it all the way to Hannah’s final four , which is especially shocking given his behavior on Monday night’s show. As you may recall (who could forget?) Luke P. bodyslammed Luke S. following a particularly intense rugby game. (Luke P. tried to make it sound like the slam happened mid-game, but that was not the case.) The moment was caught on camera, but Hannah didn’t witness it herself. Then, for some reason, she’s decided not to believe the other 14 guys in the house who have repeatedly told her that Luke P. is the absolute worst. Yeah. It make zero sense. As you may have figured out, this situation doesn’t have a happy ending. According to the guru  of spoilers Reality Steve, Luke P. moves on following next week’s rose ceremony (the episode will air on Tuesday due to a scheduling conflict with the NBA Finals). Luke S.? He does not. But before you get prematurely furious at Hannah for sending the wrong Luke home, you should know that it wasn’t her decision. Reality Steve is reporting that Luke S. TOOK HIMSELF OUT OF THE RUNNING and went home prior to the rose ceremony. Frankly, given the extent to which Hannah has allowed herself to be manipulated by Luke Parker, we don’t blame him. In fact, we wish all the remaining contestants would take themselves out of the running. Not that we wish her any ill will. But if that’s what it took in order to help Hannah realize she’s allowing a full-blown lunatic to stay on the show? Then yes. As we said earlier, Bachelorette villains are nothing new, but the Luke situation is unprecedented. Host Chris Harrison even felt the need to indirectly address the insanity in a recent interview: “There’s gonna be villains, and it’s not your typical villain,” he said. “It’s not the typical bad guy that’s like a flash in the pan and goes away … although there are those too.” “What really creates the drama, what really drives this entire season and may dictate how this ends for Hannah and kind of reflects and affects the rest of her life is the drama lasts, and it’s about people she cares about,” Harrison added. “It’s not just oh here’s the bad guy, he’s gone. “This thing festers and has to deal with the entire kind of undertone to the season. So that’s what’s really going to shape the season, and what I think people are going to take away.” Wow. Usually, Harrison alerts us when there’s one rose remaining and otherwise keeps his commentary to himself. View Slideshow: The Bachelorette Spoilers: Check Out the Lucky Guy Who Wins Hannah’s Heart! [UPDATED] On social media, Hannah is taking a lot of flak for not seeing through Luke P.’s BS, but to be fair, hindsight is 20-20 and the guy is a master manipulator. Fortunately, these days, Hannah is engaged to someone else – and you can jump into the gallery above to find out which lucky guy earned her final rose.

Demi Lovato Also Thinks Bachelorette Suitor Luke Parker is Full of Crap

Demi Lovato just started watching The Bachelorette for the first time. But the singer has already come to the same conclusion about early front-runner Luke Parker as many an experienced viewer of this franchise. Which is to say the following: Lovato thinks star Hannah Brown should run as far away from this suitor as possible. Heck, jump a fence if she needs to. Just do NOT give this man another rose, Demi says. Lovato watched the episode two of The Bachelorette season 15 one day after it originally aired on Monday, May 20 — and felt the need to pass along a very simple message to Brown immediately afterward. “Hannah, honey, do not trust him!!!!!!” she captioned a clip of the dating series on her Instagram Stories. Why does Lovato feel this way? Because Parker dropped the L Bomb on Hannah this week , like a day after meeting her for the first time. After Luke told Hannah that he’s “starting to fall in love” with her, despite it being extremely early in the season, Lovato’s reaction was clear: “Huh?! How?!” she wrote. “I’m uncomfortable. I’m cringing,” Lovato added. She wasn’t alone in feeling this way. Most observers don’t understand how Parker should say such a thing at this point in the show’s run — unless, of course, he’s just spewing a bunch of seemingly romantic crap in order to end up in a Fantasy Suite with Hannah down the line. In other words: He may be on this show for the wrong reasons. Parker spilled his love-themed tea while on stage in front of many other contestants, setting up quite the awkward situation for all involved. But Hannah seemed to buy it. She had previously given Luke her First Impression Rose and she then crowned him Mr. Right after this week’s group date pageant. “He was the person that I had the first real, indescribable connection with… And if anybody was going to say it, I would more so believe Luke out of anybody,” Hannah said on air, adding this past Monday: “[But] at the end of the night, I started questioning it a little bit too.” She also started making out with Parker a lot, though, so she must have come up with her own answers to those questions. Lovato isn’t the only celebrity who is down on Luke Parker . On his podcast last week, former Bachelor anchor Nick Viall laid into the aspiring husband very hard. “I really f-cking hate him ,” Viall said of Parker, mocking the suitor for saying that God spoke to him in the shower a little while back and told him to stop having so much random sex. “He’s a terrible human being,” Viall added, prior to Tweeting: Luke P seems like the type of guy who is capable of being really shitty and then defends his action by saying ‘Only God can judge me.’ Not true Luke, I’m judging you right now. Also, i hate your tie. #theBachelorette. View Slideshow: The Bachelorette Spoilers: Check Out Hannah Brown’s Final THREE! [UPDATED] But the question remains: Will Hannah love or hate Luke in the end? The Bachelorette Alums: Where Are They Now?

Well, a new season of The Bachelorette is almost upon us. But before Hannah Brown begins her search for love with a new round of 32 suitors, it's time to check in on the 14 women who came before her. Host Chris Harrison sat down with most of the previous Bachelorettes this week to film a historic reunion special. Harrison says the result is an eye-opening look at how both the show and the dating scene have changed since 2004. The reunion will air on May 8, just days before Hannah's season premieres on May 13. So join us as we prepare ourselves with a trip down memory lane and a glance at Bachelorettes past: 1. 15 Years of History Chris posted this photo of himself with MOST of the women who handed out roses on the iconic ABC reality show. Two of the past Bachelorettes were unable to attend, but more on that later. 2. Trista Rehn (Season 1) It all started with Trista. She accepted a proposal from Ryan Sutter and the couple later married in a televised ceremony. 3. Still Going Strong Trista and Ryan are now parents to two children. They recently celebrated their 15th anniversary together. 4. Meredith Phillips (Season 2) Next up was Meredith Phillips, who ended her season by getting engaged to Ian McKee. The couple broke up one year later. 5. A Shocking Epilogue Meredith made headlines last year when she revealed that she had been sexually assaulted during her time on the show. Not surprisingly, she opted out of this week’s reunion. 6. Jen Schefft (Season 3) Season 3 had Jen Schefft handing out roses. She rejected Jerry Ferris’ proposal in the finale, later explaining that she saw him more as a friend. View Slideshow
