Octavia Spencer bought out a screening of ‘Hidden Figures’ at a Baldwin Hills, California movie theater with her mom and single parents everywhere in mind.
Hidden Figures and Rogue One did almost identical numbers at the box office this week. But it doesn’t take rocket scientist to figure out the wildly different paths the two films took to reach Hollywood’s highest rank.
Although “Hidden Figures” (not “Hidden Fences”) got snubbed at the Golden Globes last night, a group of Black businesspeople and organizations are making sure young students get a chance to view the film African-American business leaders along with 20th Century Fox, Google, Facebook, Infor, and AT&T, have launched an initiative to offer free admission to “Hidden Figures” for more than 25,000 students in New York. New York schools will be the first to benefit from the project, which is similar to a 2015 project to screen Oscar-winner “Selma” which reached 300,000 students nationwide. Janelle Monae And Pharrell Host Screening For “Hidden Figures” Wednesday night BOSSIP was among a group of specially invited press, influencers and celebrities who attended an advanced screening and soundtrack listening for the new movie “Hidden Figures.” The screening was held at Regal Cinemas 16 at Atlantic Station, while DJ Drama, Don Cannon and DJ Sense hosted the listening party at their Means Street Studio.
