I think I was yelled at by Janelle Monae the other day…but that could have been someone else at the grocery store….which seems to be the only place I socialize… Janelle Monae, not my Grocery Store clerk, is some high concept performer who you can tell thinks she’s an artist or performer or important…and that is irritating…but when stripped down to show their true self, you know what look like half naked, you can clearly see she’s average at best…so as important as she thinks she’s is, it doesn’t take away from how uneventful her bikini pics are… I don’t really believe her storyline – where she was raised working class, with a Janitor mother and Truck driver dad, in Kansas…only to end up at some Performing arts school in NYC…which all broke people can afford…..then in 2001 she made her way down to Atlanta where Outkast signed her and mentored her and gave her a career…I just think there is more to the story, you don’t just call Outkast and say “sign me”….and when you’re broke…you don’t just move from Kansas to NYC for school. Just another lie from some asshole trying to make her story more interesting so you buy her shitty music…or look at her in her shitty bikini…. Check Back Here For 61st Grammy Awards: Live Updates Alicia Keys hosts the 61st Grammy Awards in Los Angeles and before the show officially got started, a few winners had already been announced including Dave Chapelle for Best Comedy Album, Black Panther for Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, Childish Gambino’s “This Is America” for Best Music Video and Kendrick Lamar, Jay Rock and Future’s “King’s Dead” for Best Rap Performance. At the top of the show, Camila Cabello opens up the 61st annual Grammy Awards with a colorful Cuban inspired set for “Havana” featuring Young Thug. The highlight of the set was obviously Thugger who made a fashionable entrance in his finest Michael Jackson-esque rhinestone loafers but the guests didn’t stop there. Ricky Martin and J Balvin also joined Camila on stage for a “Havana” mashup. When that was over, Alicia Keys took the stage to begin her monologue. She thanked her friends, her husband, showed some love to Tracee Ellis Ross and then took a moment to surprise the audience by bringing out a few queens who happen to be some of the most honored women in the world. A big part of friendship is showing up for your girls—that’s why I was thrilled to be there for the one and only @aliciakeys at the #GRAMMYs . She is one of the most genuine and thoughtful people I know—there’s no one better to help us all celebrate the unifying power of music! pic.twitter.com/8cMhTmsClA — Michelle Obama (@MichelleObama) February 11, 2019 Without an introduction, out walks Lady Gaga, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Jennifer Lopez. But that wasn’t even the best part — Michelle Obama (who looked like a fine, tall glass of water) joined the ladies and the crowd erupted. There’s absolutely no way you can discuss queens and not bring Michelle O. Janelle Monae channeled her inner Prince when she took the stage for “Make Me Feel”. The Dirty Computer singer gave a very eclectic performance while wearing a black vinyl bodysuit and gyrating across the stage. If anybody knows how to put on a show, it’s Janelle Monae. She did THAT! “This Is America” won its second award of the night for Song of the Year. Unfortunately, he and his bleached out beard weren’t in the building to accept it. H.E.R, who was nominated for 5 Grammy awards, hit the stage to perform “Hard Place” and let’s be clear, her mic was ON! H.E.R. can sing live and she made sure we all knew it. The highlight of the night had to be Cardi B channeling her inner peacock and Offset loving every minute of it. Cardi twerked to “Money” with a tail of feathers and in that very moment, Offset was thinking about dropping a Kulture II in her womb. UHHHH CAN WE JUST?! #Grammys #cardib #offset pic.twitter.com/qD3lVwc3pV — Cosmopolitan (@Cosmopolitan) February 11, 2019 Drake shocked everyone when he actually showed up for the Grammys. The Toronto rapper won “Best Rap Song” for God’s Plan and he was up against some stiff competition. However, when he accepted his award, he treated everyone like a winner. He told his fellow rappers that even though they hadn’t won the actual award, as long as they had fans singing every word of their songs, waiting in the rain for their concerts, they are the real winners. Unfortunately, the Grammy’s wasn’t feeling that. They cut to commercial mid-speech. Yikes! WAIT…they cut Drake off???? #Grammys pic.twitter.com/MFuVCPAu1O — Global Grind (@GlobalGrind) February 11, 2019 Stay tuned here, as we give a live recap of the Grammys!
F ormer President Barack Obama has always been big on music. Throughout his presidency, he’s shared with us the songs that he keeps in heavy rotation. Let us not forget that time he made an appearance at the Apollo Theater and sang some of Al Green ’s song “Let’s Stay Together.” Obama has now taken his love for music to new heights. According to USA Today , his recent collaboration with Hamilton star Lin-Manuel Miranda has landed him a spot on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart. Barack Obama has made his debut at No. 22 on Billboard's Hot R&B Songs chart https://t.co/NrYGOWq1rR — USA TODAY Life (@usatodaylife) January 4, 2019 The song, dubbed “One Last Time (44 Remix),” debuted at No. 22 on the chart. The track features Obama, singer BeBe Winans , and Hamilton actor Christopher Jackson . On the song—which is about former President George Washington leaving his presidential seat—Obama recites Washington’s farewell address. “I anticipate with pleasing expectation that retreat in which I promise myself to realize, without alloy, the sweet enjoyment of partaking, in the midst of my fellow-citizens, the benign influence of good laws under a free government, the ever-favorite object of my heart, and the happy reward, as I trust, of our mutual cares, labors, and dangers,” says Obama. The song is a part of Miranda’s project Hamildrops which puts a spin on different songs from the musical. He launched the project last year and some of the proceeds are given to different nonprofit organizations. Obama has been a long-time supporter of the Hamilton movement. He took his family to see the show on Broadway and in 2016 the cast performed at the White House. His Billboard accomplishment comes just weeks after he shared his favorite songs of 2018 list which included music from The Carters , Leon Bridges , J. Cole , Cardi B , Janelle Monae , and others. Check out the “One Last Time (44 Remix)” below and share your thoughts in the comments. SEE ALSO: My Elementary School Was Named After A Racist. Throughout the short 30 seconds, the singer is showed cozying up with Thor: Ragnarok star Tessa Thompson, with the majority of the scenes showing the two women about to engage in some romantic activity one way or another. This trailer is just the latest piece of evidence to fuel rumors of a Janelle Monae/Tessa Thompson relationship–and people all over the internet are super excited by the prospect of this union. Back in 2010, Monae told Rolling Stone : “The lesbian community has tried to claim me, but I only date androids. Nothing like an android, they don’t cheat on you.” Her thoughts from 8 years ago coud have changed by now, though. The two lovely ladies have been pictures together multiple times in the past couple of months, even appearing on the carpet together for Thompson’s premiere of Annihilation just a few days ago. The two also attended the Black Panther premiere together, and were pictures at the 2017 Emmy Awards looking mighty comfortable holding hands under the table. i just read this huge thing about how tessa thompson and janelle monae might be dating and just that fact that this is a possibility has raised billions for the lgbts pic.twitter.com/hN5YOBNZpp — king killmonger (@louislestats) February 9, 2018 Of course it’s a possibility these two are just really good friends, but….come on!! Source: J. Countess / Getty Tyrese has time this week. He’s serving up a nice slice of petty along with an explanation in his notorious essay format. Yup, you know the format — when Tyrese argues in more than five sentences on Instagram. The actor took to the social media to explain his earlier rant against Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson . The former wrestler allegedly won’t hit Tyrese back about a possible The Fast and the Furious spinoff movie centered around The Rock’s character, Luke Hobbs. Apparently, if you don’t give Tyrese a call back about a major project, he’ll escalate things real quick. After calling Johnson out in the comment section of one of his pictures, Tyrese goes into details in a post of his own. “I have never and will never have a problem with this major movie star, he’s my brother… I repeat never,” Tyrese said. He then rants that didn’t like The Rock’s Bay Watch but he did like The Rock’s singing in Moana. He finally gets back on message, saying, “I’m simply trying to reach him cause he won’t call me back about this solo #HobbsMovie. I want you to shoot it just not right now cause the #Fast9 release date has already been announced and we can’t let our loyal fans #FastFamily or our loyal fast and furious FANS down on any level from pushing the date.” Tyrese puts even more of his business out there by saying he already had a great call with someone from The Rock’s production company. He argues that he’s making all this information public because he wants to continue doing business with folks in the Fast & Furious world. “We do this on behalf of the families, the cast, the crew members who have been down and loyal to us for 15 years……Everyone matters……When we shoot we all eat, when we eat we show up as a FAMILY display our love, our funny stuff, our story lines and HEARTS in every frame.” You can read Tyrese’s essay below and let us know what you think.
