Source: Steven Ferdman / Getty Travis Scott Suffers A Serious Injury During His Latest Performance Travis Scott brought the ASTROWORLD experience to Citi Field on Saturday, performing as one of the headliners for Rolling Loud’s first time in New York. The festival was already undergoing some issues–with certain performers on the lineup catching the attention of the NYPD –but Travis found himself hurting by the end of his set. The Houston native was performing his track, “BUTTERFLY EFFECT” when he jumped up and landed wrong on his right knee. At some point in the show, Travis put on a make-shift knee brace and went on with the rest of his performance–if you know Scott, you know how seriously he takes these concerts and giving his fans an experience to remember Of course, the comparisons to Michael Jordan’s famous flu game were all over the place. If not, he’ll probably find a way to make it on stage anyway.

The University of Kansas is apologizing for a very sexually suggestive performance featuring Hip-Hop legend Snoop Dogg at its late-night event. This was definitely not a good idea. While Snoop Dogg performed his hits, stripper poles were wheeled out on Allen Fieldhouse floor, and fake money fell out of the sky on the heads of recruits. Add this mess to the high-level NCAA infractions the University of Kansas is facing for sketchy recruiting tactics. Long took full responsibility for the risque show and added in a statement: “We made it clear to the entertainers’ managers that we expected a clean version of the show and took additional steps to communicate to our fans, including moving the artist to the final act of the evening, to ensure that no basketball activities would be missed if anyone did not want to stay for his show. I take full responsibility for not thoroughly vetting all the details of the performance and offer my personal apology to those who were offended.” He closed things out by saying: “We strive to create a family atmosphere at Kansas and fell short of that this evening.” The University of Kansas’ Late Night event is a traditional event and has taken place for 35 years. It traditionally started out as a scrimmage to celebrate the return of the college basketball season before turning into a full-on entertainment spectacle. On Wednesday (Sept 11), the British rapper, whose rivalry with Drake has been ongoing ever since he called the OVO cappo a “culture vulture” and branded them “pagans.” While it’s relatively unclear as to what triggered the one-sided bombardment, it seems Wiley has been increasingly irritated with OVO’s “sh*t record deals,” specifically in relation to the clearance of vocals on a song he did alongside dancehall artist and OVO-signed artist Popcaan as well as Nicki Minaj . “I’m being held back cos @Drake obviously ain’t clearing @PopcaanMusic and @NICKIMINAJ is going to start her family… it’s a dead-end,” Wiley wrote [then deleted] on Twitter. Wiley also criticized Drake for showing up at the concerts of numerous UK rappers, including J Hus and Dave, as well as inviting them to join him on his own tour. “@Drake suck ya mum don’t come back to England,” Wiley wrote, before claiming that OVO will “give you sh*t record deals and you’re only there to help Drake with songs to keep him up and you down.” Drake, who has previously called Wiley “goofy”, responded to his criticism earlier this year, saying: “I see a lot and I’ll never understand how supporting somebody’s song or even going a step further and giving somebody a song or linking up… how that’s not viewed as something admirable?” He continued, “But I guess people have their own outlook on [that].” Despite the criticism from Wiley, Drake and his OVO camp are slated to release an album inspired by the Netflix reboot of Top Boy , a British based crime drama that hones in on East London’s tumultuous relationship with drugs and street gangs. Some fans speculate that Drake’s announcement of his inspiration from the U.K. based drama is what fueled Wiley’s tangent. Since his Twitter rant, Wiley has revealed his reason for taking shots at Drake. During an interview with 1Xtra Breakfast Show With Dotty on Thursday, Wiley states that it’s Drake’s selfishness in business that has led to his disdain with Toronto rapper. “I didn’t need Drake to let me know that Top Boy is sick,” Wiley said. “They didn’t come to us” when asked why he and other grime pioneers didn’t step in to revive the series themselves. Can’t you see what people do out here? The truth is he’s just a pagan. He knows it. And if I say it, he can’t say nothing to me because it’s the truth . . . The latest big name artist to perform at NPR’s studio is Ty Dolla $ign and during his set went on to pay homage to Mac Miller just a month before the first anniversary of his passing. Footage has bee released from a 2016 case of a Dallas man dying while being arrested by police. Tony Timpa, 32, died after authorities pinned him to the ground in the controversial “prone position” with his face in the ground and a knee in his back. The Dallas News obtained the footage of Timpa’s final moments after a three-year records fight. ( Terms and conditions ). In the footage, Timpa who called for help in August 2016 because he suffered from schizophrenia and depression and was off his meds, is seen being aggressively pinned down. He tells authorities he can’t breathe and wails, “you’re gonna kill me,” as he lays pinned down for 13-minutes. Authorities alleged that the pinning was necessary to keep the man from rolling into the street. As he lay dying, officers then mock Timpa and claim they hear him snoring. “It’s time for school. Wake up!” says one in the video obtained by The Dallas News. “I don’t want to go to school! Email Submit The Dallas News reports that officers Kevin Mansell, Danny Vasquez, and Dustin Dillard were indicted by a grand jury in 2017 on charges of misdemeanor deadly conduct and a grand jury’s indictment stated that the “officers engaged in reckless conduct that placed Timpa in imminent danger of serious bodily injury.” But in March, Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot dismissed the charges saying that medical examiners did not believe the officers acted recklessly and “cannot, and will not, testify to the elements of the indictment beyond a reasonable doubt.” Watch the disturbing video here . Source: Timothy Hiatt / Getty Media powerhouse Lena Waithe is bringing more fire to the small screen with her new series, “Twenties.” The comedy is set in Los Angeles and follows a group of 20-somethings as they navigate life, work and love. Lena explained she wrote the series in her twenties and it is loosely based on her own life. The show, which is set to premiere on BET in 2020, includes an all-star cast including “JoJo” T. Gibbs, Christina Elmore, Gabrielle Graham and Sophina Brown. Rapper Big Sean will make his acting debut on the show, Variety reports. “It really is a figment of my imagination,” Waithe told Variety. “But I’m pulling little things about my drive, my hunger, and the frustrations that come with the business [that can be relatable to anyone].” Lena took to Instagram to announce the show and her excitement around Big Sean’s involvement in the project. “What you think about, you bring about. #Twenties has been a project I’ve been dreaming about for as long as I can remember. Sadie Roberts-Joseph , 75, was mysteriously found Friday (July 12) CNN reports. Her cause of death is still unknown. She founded the Odell S. Williams Now and Then African American Museum in 2001 where many events are held including an annual Juneteenth celebration. Roberts-Joseph had also founded her own nonprofit, Community Against Drugs and Violence, which was dedicated to making the Baton Rouge streets safer for children. “Ms. Sadie was a tireless advocate of peace in the community,” the Baton Rouge police department said in a Facebook post. “Ms. Sadie is a treasure to our community, she will be missed by BRPD and her loss will be felt in the community she served.” Sadie Roberts-Joseph, 75, an activist and founder of an African-American museum in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was found dead in the trunk of a car. Last week, she took to social media to give fans a glimpse of the toll that the recovery process has taken on her body. In a now deleted post, the “Press” rapper showed her severely swollen feet and revealed that when she flies her feet and stomach become swollen. On Instagram, the former Love & Hip-Hop star said she misunderstood how long the recovery process would actually take and didn’t follow the doctors orders when he told her not to fly for a few months. So every time that I keep traveling, like, my feet and my legs, they swell up. Like, I had really bad ‘cankles.’ Then after my shows, I wasn’t really feeling it when I performing, but I would really feel a lot of back pains. And then on top of that, my stitches around my boobs, on the outside, are completely healed, but the inside, you know, you still got stitches in the inside, in my breasts, so they’ve slowly got to heal.” The Bronx native is scheduled to perform on June 16th at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Manchester, Tennessee.
