Oprah Responds To Comments From Followers Who Raise Questions About Sexual Assault Outside Of Hollywood

Kevork Djansezian/NBC/NBCU Photo Bank via Getty Images Oprah Reassures Women She’s Speaking Out For The Common Folk, Too Though most are happy to see a change in Hollywood where women are being embraced for speaking out against their own stories of sexual assault, people are always going to have something to complain about. One of the criticisms that commonly seems to come up in complaints about the Times Up or Me Too movements is the fact that this is only highlighting women in Hollywood, and not everyday women who experience the same thing in their everyday life. It seems pretty obvious that those women speaking out in Hollywood are just a larger, more public representation of the issue that will help bring attention to all workplaces–but some just don’t see it that way. Oprah recently posted an interview of hers on Instagram again sparking conversation on the subject, following her inspiring speech at the Golden Globes. Though many were moved again by her words, some commenters can’t get over the fact that they feel their stories are more important or more damaging than women in Hollywood. Comments included people making comments like, “do you realize that ‘normal’ women cannot speak up out of fear for their jobs and even their lives” and “f**k Hollywood they are paid victims what about us poor that have to continue with sexual harassment just to pay our bills.” Oprah responded to two commenters, saying she completely hears what they’re saying, and they are who she was speaking to when she said, “the women who have endured because they had children to feed and dreams to pursue.” Oprah knows what it’s like to endure harassment in a career where she couldn’t do anything about it, and she’s reminding those who think she forgot.

Lindsay Lohan’s Weirdo Cooking Show of the Day

Lindsay Lohan is such a fucking weirdo…with brown looking teeth….and her raspy voice and doughy injected face….but I find her inspiring and you should too.. Because there’s nothing more erotic than a woman in the Kitchen, doing domesticated shit she probably never saw her own mother do, because they were Hollywood trash living the life of luxury early on in her life, and I guess cooking brings her peace and serenity and is therapeutic, not as much as all the medis she’s on…but therapeutic none the less.. She is the goddess Lindsay Lohan looking for nromalcy while being Lindsay Lohan…and for some reason I always like when a bitch cooks..I call it being a dude…with mommy issues… She’s so hot, I like to start everyday with Lohan The post Lindsay Lohan’s Weirdo Cooking Show of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepfather .

Robert Vaughn Dies; Magnificent Seven, Man From U.N.C.L.E Actor Was 83

Robert Vaughn, the actor best known for his roles in the classic Western The Magnificent Seven and the 1960s NBC spy series The Man From U.N.C.L.E has passed away. Vaughn’s manager confirmed the news today in a press release: “Mr. Vaughn passed away with his family around him,” the statement read. Sources say Vaughn had recently been diagnosed with Leukemia. Though best known for his work on such beloved TV series as  Gunsmoke , Father Knows Best , Wagon Train , The Rifleman and The Dick Van Dyke Show,  Vaughn also racked up more than 200 film credits over the course of his more than 60-year career. He continued to work until the end of his life with roles on the UK series Hustle and Coronation Street . Born in New York City, Vaughn moved to the West Coast for college when he was in his teens. John Legend Releases Inspiring Music Video After Trump’s Win

John Legend is a gift we simply do not deserve. He’s so classy, and so talented, and he’s got the most beautiful family in Chrissy Teigen and their baby, Luna . And now we’ve got another little thing to add to his great big pile of wondrousness: John Legend’s “Love Me Now” Music Video This is John’s music video for his song “Love Me Now,” and if it doesn’t make you cry, then maybe get your tear ducts examined. At the very least, hop on Google and figure out how to unthaw your cold, cold heart. The video features footage from the Domiz Refugee Camp in Northern Iraq, the Dominican Republic, Standing Rock Reservation in North Dakota, and Orlando, particularly of couples and children. There’s also a few scenes showing John with Chrissy, and there’s also Luna in her music video debut. All those images are enough to cause a mental breakdown, but throw in John’s chorus: I don’t know who’s gonna kiss you when I’m gone So I’m gonna love you know, like it’s all I have I know it’ll kill me when it’s over I don’t wanna think about it, I want you to love me now And it’s enough to just break your heart to pieces. But while John is obviously an emotional guy, he says it was a lucky accident that such a touching video was released the same week we all really needed some uplifting . Here, check out his incredible message for yourself: It’s been quite a time for the United States and the rest of the world as we all watched the election results come in early Wednesday morning. Some of us wept for our country. Some of us celebrated. Some of us are already taking to the streets in protest. You all know how I wanted and expected the election to go. I wanted us to choose unity and inclusion over building walls and singling out ethnic and religious groups for hate and suspicion. I wanted us to choose progress over yearning for some long-lost mythical era when America was supposedly greatest. I wanted us to destroy the highest glass ceiling instead of electing an admitted sexual assaulter. But we did not. These are the election results and all of us will have to learn to deal with it. I will not give up though. I will continue to be aware and vigilant. I will continue to speak out for justice. We didn’t think about the election when we planned the release date for this song and video. But in this time of conflict and uncertainty, it’s clear that we all need more love. I find it in my family and in my music. Embracing my family has made today full of love and light despite the bad news. But it’s also important that we show love and empathy to people who may not look like us or live like us. Those who are marginalized and rejected, feared and left behind. The video premieres Friday and features a diverse group of people from all over the world. From Standing Rock to Iraq, from Orlando to the DR. Love is universal. We all can give it. And it will ultimately win over hate. I have to believe that. If you want to join our celebration of love, use the hashtag #lovemenow and send us a picture of you and someone you care about. Like we said, we really, honestly do not deserve the greatness that is John Legend . View Slideshow: Donald Trump Wins Presidency, Twitter Reacts

State Trooper Offers Grieving Man Unexpected, Inspiring Assistance

We’re living in a scary moment in history. The relationship between police officers and the citizens they are meant to protect has never been worse. But perhaps the following story will serve as some kind of turning point. Or, at minimum, put a smile on your face. Around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Mark Ross discovered that his 15-year old younger sister, Eliza Fletcher, had been killed in a car crash. In a desperate panic, he enlisted the help of a friend to make the immediate drive from Ohio to Detroit in order to be with his grieving mother. According to Inside Edition, however, an officer pulled their car over for speeding at approximately 100 miles per hour. When the officer saw that the driver of the vehicle had his license was suspended and that Ross had an outstanding warrant, he subsequently towed their car. Ross was left stranded. Moreover, there was a good chance he was going to prison for the warrant. But then Ohio State Highway Patrol Sergeant David Robison showed up on the scene… and things started looking up. In a lengthy post on Facebook, Ross said he explained how Robison responded once he learned exactly what was going on. Here is what Ross wrote, as pictured above: At 3am I got a phone call stating that my sister had been killed in a car accident due to some young dumb punk! I haven’t slept and instantly got on the road. Of course we were speeding, trying to get back to Detroit. And we got pulled over in Ohio. I knew I was going to Jail due to a petty warrant. The police called Wayne county and they refused to come get me because of the distance. I explained to the officer that my sister had died and that I needed to get to my mother asap. I broke down crying and he saw the sincerity in my cry. He REACHES OVER AND BEGAN PRAYING OVER ME AND MY FAMILY. He offered to bring me 100 miles further to Detroit because they towed the vehicle. Everybody knows how much I dislike Cops but I am truly Greatful for this Guy. He gave me hope. This story is giving us all hope. The Facebook post above has been shared over 103,000 times at last check. Inside Edition even says the officer who drove Ross all the way to Michigan will be attending his sister’s funeral. Pretty amazing, huh? Especially in light of all that’s been happening around the country over the past few months. Here is a photo of Ross’ late sister. May she rest in peace.
