Kristin Cavallari, Lo Bosworth Call ‘The Hills’ Ending ‘Spectacular’

‘To see it come to and end is always bittersweet,’ original star Lauren Conrad tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Tim Kash Kristin Cavallari Photo: John Shearer/WireImage “The Hills” ended Tuesday night with a wink from the show’s producers, and while it might have been a surreal way to end a show that was grounded in reality for six seasons, the stars of the show enjoyed the mysterious scene final scene . Lo Bosworth, who has said that seeing the show again is like watching “home movies,” had only one way to describe the finale. “The ending, I felt, was spectacular,” she told MTV News. “I think the fans will forever question: Was it fake or was it real? And I don’t think I will be answering that question.” “That day of filming, it was surreal to me, because they wouldn’t tell me what we were filming,” said Brody Jenner, who shared that an ending with Lauren Conrad had been shot as well. “I think the show has always battled with what’s real and what’s fake, and this ending was perfect, because you still don’t know what was real, what was fake, and it’s kind of like L.A., in a sense. I thought it was very clever, and I was happy with it. I was stoked they were ending it with me. I was flattered.” “I mean, I think we both couldn’t have been happier with the ending. We were speechless,” Kristin Cavallari said about the final scene, which saw her get into a waiting car destined for the airport and a plane to Europe — or so we thought. Instead of pulling away, the camera pans out to show the entire production, including crew members and cameramen. With the “fourth wall” dropped in the final moments, what does the show’s original star, Lauren Conrad, think about the show ending after all these years? “I think it’s sad to see something that was so great, to see it come to and end is always bittersweet,” she said. “But I think they had a great run. They went on for so long, and I think it’s nice they wrapped up everybody’s story and it’s a happy ending.” Were you surprised by the way “The Hills” ended? Tell us in the comments! ‘It was another fun, cool ending,’ he says of onscreen reunion that was shot but didn’t make the final cut. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Tim Kash Brody Jenner at the “Hills” series finale after-party on Tuesday Photo: John Shearer/ WireImage “The Hills” may have bid a fond farewell on Tuesday night, leaving fans pondering the show’s somewhat mysterious and unusual ending , but Brody Jenner, whose final scene with Kristin Cavallari ended the show’s successful six-year run, admits there was another scene with another ex-lady that was shot but didn’t make the final cut. He revealed to MTV News backstage at the aftershow party that it included some face time with Lauren Conrad, who did make an appearance on the aftershow . “We filmed a couple different endings and we didn’t know which one they were gonna use. There were some other ones that were great as well,” Brody teased about the LC ending. “One of the other endings, Lauren was in it. She had come back into the show for the last episode. I come back home, and basically Lauren’s at my place [and I tell her about saying goodbye to a friend]. We film this whole lovey-dovey scene as if me and Lauren had been together this entire time. So it was another fun, cool ending. “That day of filming it was surreal to me because they wouldn’t tell me what we were filming,” he continued. “I think the show has always battled with what’s real and what’s fake, and this ending was perfect because you still don’t know what was real, what was fake and it’s kind of like L.A. in a sense. I thought it was very clever and I was happy with it. I was stoked they were ending it with me. I was flattered.” So is it real? Well, yes and no, for that matter. “I would say it’s entertainment and just enjoy it; don’t question it too much. There were a lot of moments that were real and a lot of moments that were not so real.” Were you pleased with the ending? Would you have liked to have seen Lauren? Tell us in the comments!
