Are you ready for a new beginning? MTV surely is. And the network is hoping viewers feel the same way. On Sunday night, not long after Spencer Pratt and company came together on the red carpet of the MTV Video Music Awards for a reunion photo, MTV made the announcement many had been waiting to hear for months: THE HILLS IS COMING BACK! As you can see above, Spencer and Heidi Pratt, Audrina Patridge, Jason Wahler, Justin Bobby, Stephanie Pratt and Frankie Delgado all showed up for the annual awards ceremony, causing some fans to think this mere red carpet gathering would be the only reunion they'd see for awhile. But they were sorely (and awesomely?) mistaken. Midway through the VMAs, MTV ran the promo featured here. It teased a revival of the former reality series that will apparently be titled The Hills: New Beginnings . And why not, we guess, right?!? Last Man Standing is coming back this fall. So is Murphy Brown. Netflix has found success with Fuller House and MTV itself has found enormous success with Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. So … why not The Hills? According to a network press release, this new version of The Hills will reunite original cast members, alongside their kids, friends and returning favorites, while following their personal and professional lives while living in Los Angeles. It is scheduled to premiere in 2019. In the first preview for the program, footage of Los Angeles plays as Stephanie is heard saying, “It’s like we’re all growing up. It’s weird.” That's not really weird. That's sort of just how life works. But Heidi and Spencer have a son now and that is really weird! Only one question now remains: Will Lauren Conrad appear on the reboot? It doesn't sound that way. “I don’t think I would do another show that involved my family,” Conrad told HuffPost earlier this year, adding: “I spent a lot of years on a show focused on my personal life, so I don’t think I’d do it again.” Oh well. Jacob Hall, the six-year-old boy who was wounded in Wednesday’s elementary school shooting in Greenville, South Carolina, has died. The toddler’s parents confirmed this tragic news to People Magazine, saying via statement: “Our son, Jacob Hall, who was shot at Townville Elementary School on Wednesday, died today surrounded by family at Greenville Health System Children’s Hospital.” Continued the statement: “Jacob came into our lives six years and four months ago and changed it completely. He showed us how to love, laugh and smile even on days we did not want to. “God gave him to us and he was taken away from us by a senseless act.” A kindergarten student, Hall was allegedly shot in the leg by a 14-year-old suspect. The suspect was later captured by authorities and has been charged as a juvenile with one count of murder in the death of his father and three counts of attempted murder. The bullet struck Jacob’s femoral artery, resulting in massive blood loss that lead to cardiopulmonary arrest, his family says. The six-year old had been on life support due to suffering a severe brain injury, along with the amount of blood he lost in the incident. “Jacob was a tremendous fighter but was unable to overcome the catastrophic blood loss and resulting cardiopulmonary arrest caused when the bullet hit his femoral artery,” Dr. Keith Webb with GHS Children’s Hospital told People . “We grieve for the loss of this little boy and pray for his family as they work through this extraordinarily difficult time.” As part of their statement, Jacob’s parents thanked the physicians and nurses of GHS Children’s Hospital “who did everything in their power to try to save Jacob.” They also passed along their appreciation to Preacher Blizzard and the staff of Oakdale Baptist Church, the Townville Rescue Squad, Townville Fire Department, Fire Chief Billy McAdams and all of the first responders. “We know that Jacob has already forgiven this child for what he did to him and his family because that’s the kind of child he was,” the statement read. “Jacob was sent to this earth for this short a period of time to show us that there is such a thing as pure love. Jacob is in heaven with God now and everyone who loves him. “Words cannot express how much we will miss him.” Gerald Gambrell, Jacob’s brother, penned a touching tribute to his sibling on Facebook Saturday. Read the message: “God took his strongest soldier. Jacob will be with us forever and always in our hearts. I love you little brother and I can’t wait till the day we meet again. “Your my hero buddy. I love you so much watch over your family son.” Jacob, another kindergarten student and a teacher named Meghan Hollingsworth were all shot last Wednesday; the latter two victims were released from doctor’s care later that same night. The suspect’s father was found dead near the school in what officials have determined to have been a related incident. Police have said the 14-year-old shooter drove the family truck to the school… crashed into a fence outside the playground… got out of the vehicle… and then started shooting. Yes, as much as the world probably thinks they would not make the finest parents, they are actually planning to create an offspring. “I am writing a coffee table wife type of book. It’s more like a fun project, something I enjoy doing and then I’m getting ready to be a mom hopefully next year,” the former reality star, 30, told Faithwire. “So that is going to be my main priority and full-time job.” It is pretty crazy to think of the two of them with a child. If you watched The Hills , you probably know they’re not the most stable couple in Hollywood. Things got so bad that they were fired from the show midway through the final season. Spencer was quick to blame Jersey Shore for The Hills coming to an end. He clearly didn’t realize that the show was running on fumes. Heidi also revealed that Spencer was not fond of the idea of being a father. “You know, I had to pray to get my husband to even … agree to have a kid and so this whole journey over the last few years … I have had to do.” Does this not just remind you of the time Heidi tried to get Spencer to have kids on The Hills ? That did not go down well, but it proves that at least one thing from the show was real. Heidi even chatted about how difficult it is to have kids. “You know, it’s not so easy, not everyone can just have kids whenever they want,” Montag told Faithwire. “There is a lot of hardship and prayers and certain things you have to put into that.” She went one step further and revealed how she felt about her public fall from grace. “I grew up in a small town in Colorado and I always dreamt that I would be buying Louboutins and I had a love for Vogue magazine,” she said. “[So] when I actually had an opportunity to buy those things, it was almost like … it was fun and then of course, I just got a little carried away with it.” People do get carried away, but they don’t get Heidi Montag carried away. She famously got 10 plastic surgery procedures in just one day.
