Chiwetel Ejiofor: Gays Have It Worst In Hollywood It’s a good thing 12 Years a Slave star Chiwetel Ejiofor is a straight black man and not gay because, according to him, it’s hard out here for gay actors in Hollywood. Way harder than black ones. Per a recent interview with The Times UK via Hindustan Times : Chiwetel Ejiofor believes Hollywood still marginalises people because of their sexuality. The industry has been accused of a lack of diversity following the 2016 Academy Awards nominations, where no African-American actor or director was nominated for a top honour for the second year in a row, but the actor “believes it’s harder for someone to succeed if they’re homosexual than if they’re black. “I hope this changes (but) I think it’s probably harder to be gay,” he said. “I think sexuality is still marginalised in a way that is pretty open. I think it’s tough. I think for one’s own peace of mind, for one’s own sense of self and psychological health, I feel like that’s the horrible thing about ‘don’t ask, don’t tell’… Because it produces a sense of shame, and therefore this sense of being ‘less than’, you know? And I hate that. I hate that for anybody.” But Ejiofor, 38, argues that at the same time, a person’s sexuality isn’t anyone else’s business, and if the individual wants to, they should be able to declare their preference without fear of it affecting their opportunities in life in any way. “If I hadn’t had the opportunities and the fortune that I have had, of course I would have a very different perspective to that, but I can’t be completely intellectually dishonest about what has happened in my life… It’s a tiny bit more nuanced for me to talk about,” he explained. Do gays still have it harder despite the number of LGBT characters popping up on both the small and big screen? Continue reading →

A Never-Before-Seen Interview Of 14-Year-Old Tiger Woods Talking About Racism In Golf A young Tiger Woods could not help but recognize that he was a black man in a white man’s world when it came to the golf course. Back in 1990 he spoke to Trans World Sports about what its like to be a person of color in such an overwhelmingly caucasian sport. “Every time I go to a major country club I can always feel it. Always sense it. People always staring at me. ‘What are you doing here? You shouldn’t be here,’” Woods said. We’ve taken the liberty of starting the video where the race talk begins, feel free to rewind and watch the entire interview. So Tiger DID used to claim his blackness. Interesting… Image via YouTube
Travis Scott & Kanye Team Up To “P*** On Your Grave” “New music” duo Travis Scott and Kanye West have teamed up for a music video released to Apple Music. The video is for Travis’ song ‘P*** On Your Grave’. If you’re not familiar, the track is from his most recent LP, Rodeo. In the clip the artists rap their way through a creepy fog ridden forest and into an open field in zombie Yeezy Season 2 inspired gear. They definitely get an A for effort but frankly it’s just a little weird. See the flick for yourself from Rolling Stone and drop a comment below. Are you guys feeling it??
You’d think a 65-year-old man would have good enough sense to know not to trust wiring money to a stranger ! Man Sues OKCupid.com For Not Warning About Dangers Of Online Dating But apparently EVERYTHING has to come with a warning label these days. According to NY Daily News reports : A Queens man is suing online dating service OkCupid.com after a failed relationship that started on the site set him back over $70,000. Michael Picciano says in papers filed in Manhattan Supreme Court that when he found a man calling himself Bruce Thompson in February 2013, he “felt safe and trusted the profile” of the man because of the dating site’s reputation. Picciano, 65, says that after 10 days of chatting on the site, he and Thompson moved to personal emails at Thompson’s suggestion. About a month later, Thompson made his first telephone call to Picciano and by the end of March, Thompson was asking for money for a new computer parts business. “Believing his story because he now trusted Thompson based on their multiple daily conversations,” Picciano went to his bank — the Little Neck branch of Capital One — and made two wire transfers worth a total of $12,000 to a Charles Willard in Dallas, Texas, according to court papers. When those funds were returned to Capital One, Thompson asked Picciano to send the money instead to the account of Dennis E. Racer in Addison, Texas, according to the court papers. Picciano sent a third wire transfer of $12,000 to Edmond Thebeau in Ontario, Canada and a fourth wire in mid April to MacBenson and Associates in Manchester, England. The wire transfers added up to a whopping $70,460. Picciano eventually discovered none of the recipients were legit and the money instead went to Thompson’s accounts, according to his suit. However, all of the wire transfer reports issued to Picciano by Capitol One had the bank’s name and address as the recipient instead of the real recipient. Late last April, a friend searched the internet and found Thompson’s name on a website called malescammers.com, the suit says. Picciano says he contacted the NYPD and he gave a detective a $100,000 forged check that Thompson had sent Picciano to gain his trust. According to court papers, a police crime lab didn’t find fingerprints on the check and learned that the software used to create the check could not be traced. Picciano says he believes Thompson is back on OkCupid, trolling for new victims and using the screen name “bigheartedbt,” according to the court papers. Picciano is faulting the website for not giving subscribers warnings and Capital One for not getting him the proper information about where his wire transfers were really being received. There was no immediate comment from the bank or the parent company of OkCupid, IAC.com. What kinda cyber schlong was homeboy slanging to talk dude out of that kind of money after knowing him just a few months?! And why didn’t he think to check malescammers.com BEFORE wiring the money? Just sayin! Do you think OKCupid owes this guy ANYTHING? Shutterstock
Dear Bossip , I need advice. I broke up with my child’s father 3 years ago. He proposed, but I turned him down because he wasn’t saved, and he is in the music industry. I also kicked him out the apartment. He still resents me. He says that I’ve betrayed him. I also put him through a lot during our relationship. I now realize that he is a good man, and I made a terrible mistake. He is now dating, and he has revealed to me that he has been seeing someone for two years and he loves her. I really want my family back. How can I get him back? – Wanting Him Back Dear Ms. Wanting Him Back , So, you broke up with him and turned down his marriage proposal because he wasn’t saved, and is in the music industry. Now, two years later, he is seeing someone else, and he told you that he loves her, but you want him because you feel you made a terrible mistake. I’m sorry, but am I missing something. What happened? Are you that miserable and alone that you’re considering going backwards instead of moving forward? But, let’s be real and ask the serious question, why do you really want him back? That is the tee-hee-hee-hee-hee! Do you want him back because he is happily involved with someone else, and is in love with another woman? You see how happy he is, and how loving he is with another woman, and because you didn’t realize it or see it when he was with you all of a sudden you have this epiphany that you want to be a family with him? Chile, miss me. Misery loves company. He’s happy and in love, and you want what he has. Why can’t you just be happy for him? I’m sure if you were to have a new man, someone who loved you, and you were in love he would be happy for you. You broke up with him for a reason. You left him for a reason. And, you explicitly stated it’s because he is not saved, and he is in the music industry. That hasn’t changed. He still is not saved, and he is still involved with the music industry. Why do you want him back? Really? But, ma’am, isn’t it contradictory for you to be talking about him not being saved, yet, you were having sexual relations with a man before marriage? And, you produced a child. Huh? So, I take it that you’re saved, yet, you were laying up with him, and spreading your legs wide for him. You weren’t thinking about your morals and values while he was laying the pipe. But, you want to point fingers at him for not being saved. I love it! But, I get it. You have remorse and regret. You hate that you turned down the proposal, and after a few years of thinking, dating other guys, and you haven’t met someone and fell in love, you want what’s familiar. So, now you’re alone and you realize you should have accepted the proposal, worked on the relationship, and become the family you desired. You’re rehashing what happened, what went wrong, and how can you fix it. Ma’am, this is something you can’t fix. When you’re emotionally, mentally, and spiritually broken, then it requires working on yourself. Building who you are, and reconnecting to the source of spiritual nourishment. If he is not spiritually connected, or not saved, then you can’t make him saved. You can’t make him spiritually whole. That is something he has to do on his own, and be willing to do. If that is not what he desires or wants, then why do you want to go back to that? How will that fulfill you, or be nourishing to you. And, let’s think about this: What makes you think he wants to be with you? You put him out. You said you put him through a lot during your relationship. If your relationship was filled with drama, stress, and both of you were unhappy, then why go back for a repeat of this? You folks won’t leave well enough alone. You crave drama. You need it to survive and live. If you don’t have drama in your lives, and relationships then you feel incomplete. Also, why do you want to be with someone who resents you, and feels betrayed by you? Does that make any type of sense? Trying to get him back will only bring back the resentment and betrayal he feels. He will bring that back into the relationship with you. Girl, let him go and move on. If you feel you made a mistake, but the relationship was not what you wanted, and he was not the man you desired or needed, then just realize it for what it was, learn from it, and move on with your life. He is happily involved with someone else, and in love. Why interrupt his happiness, and what he has going for him because you feel you made a mistake. People, people, people if you don’t know anything else, please know that you learn from mistakes. You grow from them. You take the experience and become better. And, you try not to make the same mistake again. You don’t keep repeating them. Doing the same thing over and over again but expecting a different result or outcome is called crazy. Leave well enough, be happy that he is happy, and work on your relationship with him as a father and co-parent to your child. There is a reason why he is an ex, and a reason why you ended the relationship. Why repeat the past? Life is about moving forward, growing, and learning. Continue to work on you, build yourself, stay connected to your spiritual source, and continue to grow emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. Stay firm in your beliefs and desires. Your man will come along, and you will connect with someone who has the same vision, dreams, and hopes that you do. – Terrance Dean Hey Bossip Fam, what do you think? Newt Gingrich: President Obama Is Trying To Form Dictatorship Newt Gingrich likes to stay with a little President Obama slander in his mouth… According to Raw Story: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) argued on Tuesday that the government shutdown stemmed from an attempt by President Barack Obama to create a dictatorship. “The big problem is that President Obama refuses to behave like an American president,” Gingrich said in an interview on The 700 Club. “He refuses to deal with the Congress as equal, which it is in the Constitution.” Gingrich then went into an explanation of the constitutional articles providing for the establishment of all three government branches, accusing Obama of putting himself “above the Constitution, and that’s very dangerous for our freedoms.” Peep video below: Discuss…
It’s back to school time and you know what that means. Your very vulnerable freshman daughter is being exposed to all kinds of dangerous situations and misogyny. Such as the scenario painted by this SMU chant which was part of a freshman week event that pretty much promotes underage forced sex … Here’s more info via CTV News : Student orientation leaders at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax will undergo sensitivity training after some of them were captured on video chanting about non-consensual sex with underage girls. In the video taken during frosh week activities and posted on Instagram, both male and female student leaders can be seen taking part in what a university spokesperson called a “sexist and offensive” chant. “SMU boys, we like them young,” the students can be heard singing at the start of the video. The chant includes the phrases: “Y is for your sister,” “U is for underage,” and “N is for no consent.” It was performed by student leaders in front of about 300 first-year-students on Monday. “This is a disappointing, discouraging and, quite frankly, an offensive video and we’re, I guess, taken aback,” Keith Hotchkiss, SMU’s senior director of student services, told CTV Atlantic. Jared Perry, the president of the university’s student association, which organizes frosh week activities, has apologized. “We’re sorry this went through,” he said. “Now we’re looking forward into the future and the chant will never take place again. We’ll be educating our leaders.” SMU spokesperson Steve Proctor told The Canadian Press that a less sexist version of the chant has been performed on campus in the past. St. Mary’s University Student Association President Jared Perry says he feels terrible and an investigation will be launched into the incident. He also has resigned from his post and says he plans to devote his energy to bringing attention to the issue and turning this negative into a positive. YouTube Continue reading →

Here this fool goes. SMH. It seems that everyone has an opinion on Bey’s new song “Bow Down” including the a$$hole better known as Rush Limbaugh. Via NYDailyNews reports : Rush Limbaugh is giving Beyoncé’s new single two thumbs down in the feminism department. The talk show host, 62, spent part of his show on Wednesday criticizing the pop singer for pulling a “total 180″ with her new single “Bow Down/I Been On.” Citing a story in The Telegraph , Limbaugh claimed that, rather than extolling women’s independence in her song, Beyoncé is encouraging women to be subservient to their spouses. “Bow Down,” according to Limbaugh, advises women to “put up with it.” “She married the rich guy,” Limbaugh continued. “She now understands it’s worth it to bow down to men.” “She’s going to call herself Mrs. Carter on the Bow Down B——s tour,” Limbaugh added. Beyoncé, who has gone on record as a feminist in the past, might not agree with Limbaugh’s interpretation of her single. “I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women,” the superstar said in an interview with The Daily Mail in 2010. “I think we learn a lot from our female friends — female friendship is very, very important.” We’re pretty sure Rush Limbaugh didn’t even listen to this song. He just likes to run his mouth. WENN
