Independence Hall Nip Slip of the Day

What kind of name is INDEPENDENCE HALL? Independence Hall is the building where both the United States Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution were debated and adopted. It is now the centerpiece of the Independence National Historical Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. It is also some bitch with her fat saggy tit hanging out with some old perverted dude named Ice Mrozek…who I guess is her boyfriend…and more importantly some nipple…that seems placed in all the wrong places… If this is what Independence Hall is all about, I can support it, but I wish her hippie name trickled down to more flashing….or pussy puppet shows…or really anything a little weirder and sex positive than this. Former National Teacher Of The Year Jahana Hayes Becomes First Black Woman Elected To Congress In Connecticut

You also believe that we have an obligation to be of service to someone else, … that true leaders lead from the front and lead by example, and reject all of this hate and intolerance and this indescribable fear that does not define who we are.” With the election, Hayes added to a number of historic results for a large group of African-American candidates running in the midterm elections across the country. The former national teacher of the year was still teaching full-time in the months leading up to Election Day. What will soon be her former profession has really helped inform the way she approaches politics, she told the Hartford Courant recently. “When you’re a teacher, you don’t pick and choose who you advocate for. You don’t choose who comes to your class. You don’t ask kids, ‘Is your mom a Republican or a Democrat,’ because that’s how I’m gonna decide how hard I’m gonna work for you,” Hayes said . “They come to you and you have a responsibility to leave them better than when they came. I think that’s what government should be doing.” Not unlike other Black women running for key state-wide elected seats, Hayes encountered her fair share of resistance from Democratic Party insiders who initially favored other candidates. Because of some creative maneuvering by the Connecticut state Democrats, Hayes didn’t get the party’s nomination. Still, she won the primary in August and forced Democrats to support her as the party’s nominee. That phenomenon was similar to those we saw for other Black women who were still able to win their respective primaries with little or no help from Democrats. Hayes explained why she was running for Congress when she declared in July. “Who will speak for them?” Hayes recalled asking herself one day while looking at her students. Thanks to the voters of Connecticut, that question has been answered, and then some. SMFH: The Cheeto In Chief Thinks Funding HBCUs Might Be ‘Unconstitutional’

Because of course… President Trump Suggests That Funding HBCUs Is Unconstitutional Remember that really silly photo op of the HBCU Presidents meeting with Donald Trump ( and aged avocado Kellyanne Conway ) in the White House to discuss HBCU funding? Well if you had any doubt at all that it meant absolutely nothing, then here’s your proof. The Washington Post is reporting that YOUR Crusty Cheeto Head Commander In Chief is wondering if funding a program that helps historically black colleges and universities get loans for construction violates the constitution. Rut roh… “The White House released a signing statement connected to the recently approved federal funding measure. Tucked away in the last paragraph, the White House announced that it would treat a program that helps HBCUs get low-cost construction loans “in a manner consistent with the (Constitutional) requirement to afford equal protection of the laws.” People in higher education circles worried that the statement meant that the president was planning to get rid of a capital financing program that helps historically black colleges repair, renovate and build new facilities. Congress approved the program in 1992 after finding that “HBCUs often face significant challenges in accessing traditional funding resources at reasonable rates,” according to the Education Department. SMH. The United Negro College Fund is who initially noticed Trump’s wording about HBCUs, but according to them they’re not worried—-yet anyway. “We’re not overly alarmed at this point, based on informal reassurances and just our own knowledge of how these funding statement get put together,” Cheryl L. Smith, UNCF senior vice president of public policy and government affairs, told The Washington Post. We sincerely hope Trump doesn’t make any policy changes that affect our beloved HBCUs. It’s clear he and his constituents don’t value them. AP Photo/ Evan Vucci

Hi Hater: Nasty Newt Gingrich Blames Gov’t Shutdown On Obama – “He Was Trying To Form A Dictatorship And Refuses To Behave Like An American President!”

Newt Gingrich: President Obama Is Trying To Form Dictatorship Newt Gingrich likes to stay with a little President Obama slander in his mouth… According to Raw Story: Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (R) argued on Tuesday that the government shutdown stemmed from an attempt by President Barack Obama to create a dictatorship. “The big problem is that President Obama refuses to behave like an American president,” Gingrich said in an interview on The 700 Club. “He refuses to deal with the Congress as equal, which it is in the Constitution.” Gingrich then went into an explanation of the constitutional articles providing for the establishment of all three government branches, accusing Obama of putting himself “above the Constitution, and that’s very dangerous for our freedoms.” Peep video below: Discuss…

Gawker Refuses to Pull Hulk Hogan Sex Tape Coverage, Cites First Amendment

Last week, Hulk Hogan won a restraining order against Gawker Media, as a judge ordered the company to remove all material related to the Hulk Hogan sex tape from its site. There’s just one hiccup: Gawker refuses to do so. The company has taken down a one-minute excerpt from the half hour video, but a 1,400-word narrative about the sex tape remains. Moreover, Gawker linked to another website that hosts the footage, as editor John Cook explained why: We publish all manner of stories here. Some are serious, some are frivolous, some are dumb. I am not going to make a case that the future of the Republic rises or falls on the ability of the general public to watch a video of Hulk Hogan f***ing his friend’s ex-wife. But the Constitution does unambiguously accord us the right to publish true things about public figures. And Campbell’s order requiring us to take down not only a very brief, highly edited video excerpt from a 30-minute Hulk Hogan f***ing session but also a lengthy written account from someone who had watched the entirety of that fucking session, is risible and contemptuous of centuries of First Amendment jurisprudence. In response, Hogan is moving forward with a motion to show cause why Gawker shouldn’t be held in civil contempt for openly disobeying these legal orders. The former WWE champion previously settled a separate lawsuit with Bubba the Love Sponge and his wife/sex tape co-star Heather Clem outside of court.

President Obama Sworn In for Second Term

It’s official: we have four more years of Barack Obama as Commander-in-Chief. The President was sworn in for the second time today, as Chief Justice John Roberts delivered the oath of office in the White House Blue Room a little before noon. It will take place again in public tomorrow on the steps of the U.S. Capitol. Following the mishap in 2009, when Roberts misplaced the word “faithfully,” the judge read the oath this time around from a piece of paper. And all went smoothly, at least according to Sasha Obama, who reportedly turned to her father soon after his promise to uphold the Constitution and said: “Good job, daddy.” Obama, of course, already has a number of difficult tasks ahead of him. The economy isn’t exactly strong; a new NRA ad claims he’s a hypocritical elitist; and the top of gun control isn’t going away any time soon. How do you think the next four years will go?   Very well, we’re on the right track! Better than the last four years at least Better than the first term of Mitt Romney would have been Terrible, we’re doomed! View Poll »

Irene Sofia Esser Quintero, Miss Venezuela, Gives Best (Worst) Answer at Miss Universe 2012

Olivia Culpo won the title (U-S-A! U-S-A!) but Miss Venezuela 2012 Irene Sofia Esser Quintero gave by far the best/worst answer at the Miss Universe 2012 pageant. In addition to showing off their beauty in dazzling gowns and bikinis, they show off their brain power (or something like that) in the crucial Q&A round. Miss Venezuela, Irene Sofia Esser Quintero, was asked “If you could make a new law, what would it be? And explain why.” Her answer? Well, see below: Miss Venezuela: Miss Universe 2012 “I think that any laws there are in Constitution or in life, are already made. I think that we should have … uh … a straight way to go … in our similar, or, eh, in … in our life has it this,” she said. “For example, I am a surfer and I think that the … the best wave that I can take is the wave that I wait for it. So … please … do our only … eh … law, that we can do. Thank you, Vegas!” Hey. It’s not her native language after all. Give her credit for trying! The judges apparently did exactly that … she finished as the Miss Universe second runner-up to winner Miss USA and Miss Philippines, respectively.
