The man wanted the cows to move away from his horse feed so he shot them in the face!?!? Makes sense right?? According to NBC2 in Orlando : A Flagler County man is accused of shooting neighborhood cows in the face. Six of the Bunnell cows were shot — two of them badly injured. According to a report from the state attorney’s office, Justin Deloach is responsible for the cow’s injuries. Authorities say the shooting happened late last month. The cows were hit in the face, rump, ribs and shoulders. Deloach claimed he only fired into the air when he said the cows broke through a fence and ate his horse feed. He said he only wanted to scare the animals so they would move. The animals returned their owner, however, bleeding profusely. A veterinarian who examined the cows said the injuries are so significant, the animals’ value is affected. This sociopath really needs to learn how to take his anger out on some dayum hay bales instead of shooting cows! SMH Images via shutterstock/tumblr
Barack said today that the plan is “odious” and the new bill has Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni feeling torn between siding with the ‘demands’ of the evangelical church vs. incoming aid from donors. According to Reuters : Some international donors have threatened to cut aid if the legislation, which is now before a parliamentary committee and was first introduced in parliament in 2009, becomes law. “Ugandans want that law as a Christmas gift. They have asked for it and we’ll give them that gift,” parliament speaker Rebecca Kadaga told Reuters on Tuesday. As House speaker Kadaga can ask the committee to expedite scrutiny of a bill in order to bring it back to the House for final debate and voting. Existing legislation already outlaws gay sex. The new bill prohibits the “promotion” of gay rights and punishes anyone who “funds or sponsors homosexuality” or “abets homosexuality”. Kadaga said it was still possible to pass the bill this year although there was little time remaining before the House went on recess for Christmas holidays. “It’s very, very possible, we can do it,” Kadaga said. Homosexuality is taboo in many African nations. It is illegal in 37 countries on the continent, including Uganda, and activists say few Africans are openly gay, fearing imprisonment, violence and loss of jobs. Last month Uganda’s leading daily newspaper, Daily Monitor, reported a spat in Canada between Kadaga and Canada’s foreign minister over Uganda’s harassment of gay people. “If homosexuality is a value for the people of Canada they should not seek to force Uganda to embrace it. We are not a colony or a protectorate of Canada,” the paper quoted Kadaga as saying. Her comments drew support among some Ugandans on Twitter and Facebook and upon returning from Canada she received a rapturous welcome at Entebbe, Uganda’s main international airport. Clare Byarugaba, coordinator for Civil Society Coalition on Human Rights and Constitutional Law (CSCHRCL), said the group would petition the constitutional court to declare the draft legislation unconstitutional. “The international community supports us and we also believe in the constitution of our country which protects the rights and freedoms of everyone,” she said. “And we’ll petition it (constitutional court) and we strongly believe the law will be on our side,” she said. International activist group Avaaz condemned the decision. “Sentencing people to life in prison for love is not a “Christmas gift”, it’s a sickening violation of human rights,” campaign director Emma Ruby-Sachs said in a statement. In August gay rights activists hacked several Ugandan government websites to denounce what they regard as harassment of homosexuals in the east African country. The country also banned 38 NGOs in July it accused of promoting homosexuality and recruiting children into homosexuality. Think she’s getting coal in her stocking this year?? Images via tumblr
Re-writing the fate of Hitler’s Nazi Germany was just the start for Quentin Tarantino , whose American South-set spaghetti western Django Unchained , his follow-up to the Oscar-winning Inglorious Basterds , tackles another ugly moment in world history: Institutionalized slavery. But are audiences ready to process the tough reminder of America’s regrettable past that lies not-so-deep beneath the surface of Tarantino’s revenge Western? Tarantino and stars Jamie Foxx, Kerry Washington, Christoph Waltz and Walton Goggins hit Comic-Con to share footage from Django Unchained , the tale of a slave (Foxx) freed by a bounty hunter (Waltz) who sets off to rescue his wife from a Southern plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio). While grindhouse-esque violence , a bright pop canvas, an oily and evil DiCaprio, and Tarantino’s encyclopedic affinity for the genre have already made Django one of the most anticipated films of the year, deeper reflections demanded by the s-word — slavery — could make Django a real socio-historical conversation-starter. “When I read this script the first time I thought, this was going to start a revolution,” recalled Goggins, who filmed his part as Billy Crash, Candie’s right hand man, during time off from TV’s Justified . “Not necessarily people in the streets, but an inward revolution. I think it’s going to play a significant part in race conversations. I keep saying this over and over again: Make your dinner reservations now, because you’re going to want to talk after this movie.” In the film, Foxx’s Django is freed from bondage on the condition that he help Waltz’s Dr. King Schultz hunt down a pair of sibling outlaws, a set-up that allows Django to literally cast off his shackles and start kicking ass in retribution. But while Foxx seems to acquit himself quite while in the first promos, he points to castmate Washington for her bravery in the face of some of the film’s most difficult scenes. Between takes of a scene in which Washington is lashed, Tarantino piped in a song by gospel singer Fred Hammond through on-set speakers per Foxx’s request. The actor recalled the emotional scene. “The song was, ‘No weapons formed against me shall prosper,’” he said, singing the melody. “When that song was playing, one black lady [extra] from New Orleans who had never been on a set before, I see her hands go up like this. And I see her rocking back and forth with the child that she was standing with… You’ll see it on screen. You’ll feel it.” Washington, meanwhile, found strength within the love story at the center of Django (which reunites her with Foxx, who played her onscreen husband in Ray ). “One of the things I loved about this character is that she exists in a time when historically, black women were of a necessity independently strong, and the breakdown of the black community in order to maintain slavery began with the breakdown of the black family,” she said. “I loved that this film is about two people who, even though they exist in a time when in our Constitution they’re only 3/5 a human being, they so believe in their own humanity and so believe in the love that they share and their illegal marriage that they risk life to find each other.” While Washington’s Broomhilda isn’t the kind of action-oriented leading lady of Tarantino’s previous films, she marks a different kind of cinematic milestone. “The fact that Broomhilda gets to be the princess in the tower that gets rescued by her man in a way that kind of reclaims black marriage and black love, to me, is a different kind of strength,” Washington said. “I felt like the black woman as the princess in the tower who’s rescued is an archetype we haven’t been able to enjoy.” Diving into the themes and world of the antebellum South was tough for everyone on set, Goggins admitted. His Billy Crash — a “mandingo fight trainer extraordinaire” on Candie’s plantation — serves as one of the film’s antagonists, and required Goggins to go to some particularly ugly places in character. “While liberal Walton didn’t have anything to apologize for, I began every take with an apology because these are my friends, outside of what it means to a race of people and to everybody,” he said. “It’s not easy. It’s awful to say these things, but you’re in the service of something much greater than yourself and you’re telling a piece of history that is the biggest blight on our history as a country, and it needs to be retold.” Django Unchained hits theaters this Christmas . NAACP Protests Proposed Gun Offender Registry Law In Wealthy African-American County A law that would require members of the community convicted of gun-related crimes to check in with police every six months is in the works in Prince George’s County, Maryland. The NAACP chapter of Prince George’s County, which is the wealthiest African-American majority county in the nation, says they are not havin it. The Prince George’s County’s chapter of the NAACP is hoping to stop County Executive Rushern L. Baker III (D) from signing a countywide gun offender registry program into law, claiming the law is unconstitutional. The registry program, passed June 5 by the County Council with a 9-0 vote, would establish a police-kept registry for those convicted of gun-related crimes who would have to check in with police every six months for three years in addition to providing information such as phone numbers and where they live and work. Legislation for the registry was introduced by County Councilwoman Karen R. Toles (D-Dist. 7) of Suitland and co-sponsored by the entire council to serve as “a deterrent to gun offenders” to reduce the amount of gun-related crimes and homicides in the county, Toles has said. Members of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People met June 21 to discuss their opposition, saying the bill violates the 14th Amendment to the Constitution, which prohibits governments from depriving a person’s life, liberty and property without first taking certain steps to ensure fairness. In addition, they are citing flaws in similar legislation in Baltimore for a gun-offender registry that is currently up for potential appeal after a city circuit court judge said April 6 that the legislation was unconstitutional and too vague. Although the position of First Lady, or as Sarah Palin dubbed it, “First Dude,” is not mentioned in the Constitution, the president’s spouse is a part of the package voters decide upon every four years. Now we know what it takes to make Rush Limbaugh issue an apology: money. Or a lackthereof. Facing the loss of sponsors following his referral to Sandra Fluke – a Georgetown student who tearfully explained to the press last week why health insurance companies should cover the cost of contraception – as a slut , the radio host actually took to his website yesterday and wrote the following: “For over 20 years, I have illustrated the absurd with absurdity, three hours a day, five days a week. In this instance, I chose the wrong words in my analogy of the situation. I did not mean a personal attack on Ms. Fluke. I think it is absolutely absurd that during these very serious political times, we are discussing personal sexual recreational activities before members of Congress. I personally do not agree that American citizens should pay for these social activities. What happened to personal responsibility and accountability? Where do we draw the line? If this is accepted as the norm, what will follow? Will we be debating if taxpayers should pay for new sneakers for all students that are interested in running to keep fit? In my monologue, I posited that it is not our business whatsoever to know what is going on in anyone’s bedroom nor do I think it is a topic that should reach a Presidential level. My choice of words was not the best, and in the attempt to be humorous, I created a national stir. I sincerely apologize to Ms. Fluke for the insulting word choices.” Is Limbaugh still wildly off base? Of course. Fluke is pushing for health insurance companies to cover birth control, not American citizens. And her argument is based around non “social activities,” specifically the case of how contraception can assist with medical conditions such as ovarian cysts. And why doesn’t Rush create a similar stir over health insurance companies covering Viagra? Still… the guy apologized. That’s amazing. Sadly, this also means the Mayans were correct: the world is clearly about to end.
Here we go again. Stirring up “birther” controversy yet again, Maricopa County (Ariz.) Sheriff Joe Arpaio said he suspects the President Obama’s birth certificate released last year is fake. Armed with a 10-page report he personally commissioned, Arpaio said he suspects Obama’s long form birth certificate is merely a “computer-generated forgery.” Arpaio also raised questions about the authenticity of the president’s selective service registration card. He said he would like Congress to investigate the matter. Joe Arpaio Unveils Obama Birth Probe “Based on all of the evidence presented and investigated, I cannot in good faith report to you that these documents are authentic,” Sheriff Arpaio said last week. “My investigators believe the long-form birth certificate was manufactured electronically and that it did not originate in paper format as claimed by the White House.” Arpaio repeatedly said he is not questioning Obama’s legal status under the Constitution nor alleging fraud on Obama’s part, but did say there is evidence of crimes. The controversial lawman believes someone close to the president has tampered with or forged documents and he is required to investigate under Arizona law. Fact-checking groups have concluded the certificates are authentic, of course, and Obama has even joked about the sideshow that has followed his presidency. At last year’s White House Correspondents Association Dinner, he ridiculed Donald Trump , who had said that his own investigators were looking into the matter. But Sheriff Arpaio, who built a national profile by creating tent cities for jail inmates and by taking a tough stance on immigration, could reignite the controversy. Last December, the Justice Department accused Arpaio of civil rights abuses, sparking debate over whether his latest “birther” crusade is politically motivated. Arpaid said he began his investigation before that – in August 2011 – after tea party members from Surprise, Ariz., signed a petition challenging the certificate. Joe Arpaio has a history of launching investigations of his enemies, however, be they journalists, judges, Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, you name it. For years, notes the Tucson Citizen (a vocal Obama critic, no less), if you criticized Joe Arpaio, you’d soon be staring down often baseless criminal investigations. Is President Obama a natural-born U.S. citizen?
Rush Limbaugh told his audience today that the real target of the Obama Administration’s birth control mandate is the US Constitution. The Blaze reported: “It‘s not the government’s business to make any church or any religion ‘modernize’ …there is no … Continue reading → Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Gateway Pundit Discovery Date : 07/02/2012 20:11 Number of articles : 2
