Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton may become Queen of England sooner than she ever expected, according to a recent report. For the mother of two, that means mixed emotions. As we told you yesterday, alleged palace insiders claim Prince William and Kate will be King and Queen once Elizabeth II’s reign ends. Her Royal Majesty has yet to formally say this, of course, so take it with a grain of salt. Or two grains. Or 10. Or perhaps a small boulder. In any case, the report states that Prince Charles, 68, is about to get leapfrogged in the line of succession in order to preserve the monarchy. “Her Majesty realized that William and Kate are the future,” said the palace insider, noting that her royal legacy hangs in the balance. “She has spent 65 years making sure that the House of Windsor survives,” and this decision, while bold and surprising, is no different. That doesn’t mean it’s easy – for anyone involved. Suffice it to say, Kate is royally conflicted about it. A royal source said that her concerns lie with kids Prince George and Princess Charlotte, and whether they will be negatively impacted. Middleton didn’t see this coming. How could they? “Kate had wanted to keep a low profile for a few more years,” the source said. “She’s desperate to remain a hands-on mom.” “She worries about being in the spotlight more.” William and Kate, both 35, got married six years ago. They welcomed heir Prince George in July 2013 and then Charlotte in May 2015. The parents have already expressed concerns about their kids growing up as normally as possible, so this is a complicated situation. “She’s concerned about the added pressure on her kids,” the insider added of the mother of two, noting that they’re camera shy as it is. On the flip side, this is what she signed up for. The future Queen has, since moving to Kensington Palcae, been working extra hard to make sure the next generation is ready to take over. “William and Kate have taken on more responsibilities,” the source said, despite frequent talk of Kate being the laziest royal of all time . “They’re learning even more about what it entails to take on such powerful positions,” and while this promotion is huge, it’s not imminent. Elizabeth II has reigned for over six decades, but is still spry and active for 91, and has no intention of abdicating the throne while alive. William could wait awhile yet (ask Charles). In any case, George and Charlotte will soon glean that their lives are very different from regular kids, but will stay grounded just the same. This comes from upbringing, and is clearly paramount to William and Kate; George and Charlotte will be well raised, regardless of title. That much you can take to the bank. Also a guarantee is that they will look simply adorable next to Kate and William for years to come. When they’re King and Queen or just during run-of-the-mill royal engagements, the youngsters are the spitting image of their parents. We expect they will lead charmed lives, but not because of the royal status Kate never enjoyed while she was growing up (see below). Just because their mom and dad are pretty great. Image via Larry French/Getty Maryland Governor Looks Into Allegations Of Graduation Fraud In PG County Prince George’s County has 5 of the top 10 richest Black neighborhoods in America according to Atlanta Black Star . It stands to reason that communities like PG County where there are stable homes and economic empowerment would likely yield an above average high school graduation rate. However, according to the Washington Post , Maryland Governor Larry Hogan is skeptical of all the #blackexcellence taking place just outside the nation’s capitol. Governor Hogan has launched an investigation into PG County school’s where there have been allegations that teachers are finessing students’ grades to increase the graduation rate. The CEO of Prince George’s County Schools, Kevin Maxwell, denies any such thing. We’re definitely gonna keep an eye on this one. If Governor Hogan doesn’t come back with some hard evidence then this whole investigation into one of the wealthiest Black communities in America is gonna look REAL funny in the light.

John Legend is stepping into what may be America’s most polarizing controversy at the moment. And it centers around America’s long-time theme song. Last week, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick made headlines for something he did away from the field. Just a few feet away from the field, to be exact. Prior to a preseason game against the Green Bay Packers, Kaepernick sat down on the bench during the Star-Spangled Banner. He bucked the tradition of standing and taking off one’s hat in order to show respect for his country and he later explained why to NFL.com. “I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick said. He added: “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder. Here is a photo of Kaepernick taking his stand sit: The quarterback did not cite any specific incidents, but it stands to reason that he’s motivated to make this protest by the disturbing number of African-American deaths at the hands of police officers in 2016. For instance, Alton Sterling and Philando Castile both lost their lives in confrontations with authorities in June and July, respectively. Neither man appeared to be an imminent threat to the lives of the cops at the time. Kaepernick’s stance has elicited strong opinions from both sides, with critics aghast over the way he his spitting on his own country… … and defenders saying he’s just exercising his First Amendment right to make a larger point. On which side does Legend fall? Team Kaepernick, it would seem. After tweeting an article about the Star-Spangled Banner that claims an often unsung verse in the Francis Scott Key classic “literally celebrates the murder of African-Americans,” Legend referred to the song as “weak.” My vote is for “America the Beautiful,” he wrote, offering up that track as the new national anthem. Legend then posed a question to those hating so hard on Kaepernick. These people absent-mindedly stand up during sporting events just because they’ve been told to, but are they even aware of the basis behind the song? Moreover, do they even like it? “For those defending the current anthem, do you really truly love that song? I don’t and I’m very good at singing it. Like, one of the best,” he Tweeted. It’s true. John Legend can wail! Since his initial protest, the back-up signal-caller has made it clear that he’ll continue to sit “to stand with the people that are being oppressed.” He explained: “To me, this is something that has to change. When there’s significant change and I feel like that flag represents what it’s supposed to represent and this country is representing people the way that it’s supposed to, I’ll stand. There’s people being murdered unjustly and [people are] not being held accountable. Cops are getting paid leave for killing people. That’s not right. That’s not right by anyone’s standards.” This sort of stance isn’t new to anyone who has been following Kaepernick on social media. The athlete has been outspoken when it comes to similar issues, providing his 845,000 Twitter followers and 1.3 million Instagram followers with plenty of updates about racial injustices. “This country stands for freedom, liberty, justice for all – and it’s not happening for all right now,” he says. Two Middleton babies are on the way! One will be royal, the other will be a common plebe. OK! Magazine wins this month’s “Weirdest Tabloid Cover Story,” and it’s only September 1st. “Princess Kate & Pippa: We’re Both Pregnant!” The headline declares. “One’s having a boy, one’s having a girl! “Kate Will Be 8 Months Along At Pippa’s Wedding.” Pippa only got engaged to financier James Matthew on July 19th, so being an unwed mother is quite the scandal. “The news is twice as nice for the Middleton family: Sources say that not only is Duchess Kate expecting — her little sister Pippa, is too!” a source allegedly told OK! . “Just a few weeks back, Kate discovered that she’s expecting another little princess, and the buzz in Pippa’s circle is that’s pregnant, too — with a little boy.” The Duchess of Cambridge is mom to two children already – Prince George, 3, and Princess Charlotte, who turned 1 on May 4th. And while Catherine and William are said to want a big family, there has been no official word from the palace on whether she is expecting. In other words, she’s not. 32-year-old Pippa is, of course, aware of the stigma attached to her situation. The source helpfully pointed out that she’ll “now have to endure whispers about whether hers is a shotgun wedding,” which would mortify her mother, Carole. I’m making that up. Carole looks to be a very modern broad and probably supports a woman’s right to get knocked up by a multi-millionaire. No matter! Pipps and Jim are in this to win this, having dated back in 2012, then getting back together this past fall, after she broke up with another fiancier, Nico Jackson. Plus, if all the gossip gets Pippa down, James can whisk her off on his private jet to his family’s hotel in St. Barts. Must go, my horse and carriage is here.” To drive the point home, the only reliable source when it comes to royal pregnancies (not Middleton pregnancies), is Kensington Palace. Much to the dismay of the royal family and – in particular – Queen Elizabeth, Catherine is planning playdates for Prince George with other children from Westacre Montessori school in Norfolk, England. “Does Kate Middleton plan on having mummy wine and cheese parties while Prince George has the run of Anmer Hall with his little chums from Westacre Montessori?” Probably not, since Catherine’s not too keen on the bottle. “Will a butler pass ‘round a tray of Prince Charles’ finest cheeses?” Well, William and Catherine do have a housekeeper, but I dare say there’s a Mr. Carson lookalike standing behind Her Royal Highness, ready to serve cheese. Speaking of which, Duchy Originals has a wide variety of products, so it wouldn’t be totally out of question to serve “fine cheese” from Prince Charles. “Perhaps Camilla Parker-Bowles brought back some interesting wines from the Wales’s trip to Australia and New Zealand. Do you think Camilla Parker-Bowles would miss a bottle – or 10 – of wine from her private stash?” No, because she’s President of the United Kingdom Vineyards Association, so it’s likely she’s cool with letting the moms get squiffy while the kids take advantage of country life. Earlier this week, Star magazine reported that Caitlyn Jenner “regrets” her transition and would like to go back to identifying as a man named Bruce. The story is obviously ridiculous, but if a new report from OK! magazine is true, there may be some truth to the claim that there are aspects of Caitlyn’s old life that she misses. If you watch I Am Cait online , then you know that Caitlyn spends much of her time these days with a group of trans friends who helped support her during her transition. Caitlyn and Candis became so close that at one point it was rumored that they were dating. Now, sources are telling OK! that Candis and the rest of Caitlyn’s new friends are simply exploiting the world’s most recognizable trans person for money and fame. It began with reports (which Jenner has never refuted) that Caitlyn pays Candis and company to appear on I Am Cait . Sources say the situation snowballed from there, until Caitlyn was fully supporting several of her “friends.” “She doesn’t realize she’s being used, because she thinks it’s fair to pay people who appear on the show.” an insider tells the tabloid. “But she’s so generous and eager to be loved, she just gives them however much they ask for! It’s sad.” The problem it seems, is that Cait’s new identity had left her feeling isolated from many of her former friends, and she still feels guilty over how much easier she’s had it than most trans people. She reportedly sees using her wealth and fame to improve the lives of the trans women around her as an easy fix to both problems. Kate Middleton, Prince William and their children pretty much make the perfect family … but was their perfect Christmas portrait doctored? Yes, this is a serious debate happening on social media. Many Royal Family fans feel that Princess Charlotte, or at least her head, was somehow altered in the official photo released last week. Charlotte’s “recycled” ensemble in William and Kate’s Christmas portrait was quickly noted, but whatever, all babies re-wear clothes. However, people started “observing” that Charlotte’s head is clearly defined in the picture, yet the area around her head is a bit fuzzy. Supposedly. The rumors began to swirl, in any event, and Elliot Wagland, Photo Editor of Huffington Post UK and AOL, weighed in. “Something is wrong with this (photoshopped) picture of the royal family,” he wrote on Twitter, taking the “scandal” to a new level. Then BuzzFeed did a whole story on this in BuzzFeed fashion. “We’re not the only ones to notice something is afoot,” the site declared. “Why is her head so clear and the area around it so blurry?” The Christmas photo has been dissected, enlarged and analyzed countless times, and frankly, the “evidence” is flimsy at best. For one, the supposed blurriness around the cutie’s neck is only visible whilst zooming in so far that the whole image is blurry . Secondly, there are other imperfections, if you will, such as Charlotte adorably losing a shoe and William not looking at the camera. Any family of four – particularly ones who own humans under the age of three – know it’s next to impossible to get everyone to look. If they cared, they would choose a different picture, no? Finally, even if there were airbrushing, filtering or Photoshop involved … this distinguishes the royals from exactly no one in this era. You don’t even need Photoshop proper these days, as technology on every mobile device lets you enhance and edit photos in 20 seconds. Seriously, the drama over Kate Middleton’s bangs and her oft-debated commoner holiday plans have more legs as royal non-scandals go. A Palace spokesperson told BuzzFeed that the royal family had no comment … but reportedly laughed out loud when asked about it. LOL, indeed.
Not surprisingly, a new round of speculation about whether or not Kate Middleton is pregnant goes began pretty much the moment the Duchess gave birth to Princess Charlotte. So we doubt anyone was terribly shocked to see this cover story in OK! magazine: For some reason, tabloids are obsessed with the idea of Kate Middleton giving birth to twins . In fairness, if the reactions to Prince George and Princess Charlotte are any indication, the entire UK would explode from excitement if Kate ever brought a matching set of royals into the world, so it’s not hard to see why the BS press is so enamored with the idea. Anyway, OK! can’t quite make up its mind on this one, as the cover claims Kate is giving birth to a boy and a girl , while the article inside says that the couple “doesn’t plan to find out what they’re having in advance, instead they want to be surprised at the birth.” (We read this nonsense so you don’t have to!) The tabloid even claims that upon hearing the news, William excitedly exclaimed, “My mother would be so thrilled!” View Slideshow: Princess Charlotte and Prince George Photos Yup. They even went for the Princess Di emotional gut-punch. And you thought the British media was bad! Are we saying with absolute, 100 percent certainty that Kate is not pregnant with twins? No, but if she is, it’s a total freak coincidence. Maybe OK! is planning to report that Kate is pregnant with twins every week between now and when she reaches menopause, just so if it ever happens, they can say they broke the story.
