MODEL MONDAY: Eugena Washington Is Moving Beyond The Camera And Ready To Empty Her Best Self Into The World

Source: Dave Kotinsky / Photo by Dave Kotinsky/Getty Images for Harper’s Bazaar) Name: Eugena Washington  IG: @EugenaWashington   Agency: InnovativeArtists NY l LA Claim to Fame: Eugena stole our hearts with her supple skin and sharp cheekbones in cycle seven of America’s Next Top Model. Since then she has stayed in the spotlight appearing on Time Squares billboards, soap operas, and even won Playmate of the Year.    Type ‘Eugena Washington 2016’ into Google and you’ll find them: Crisp images of a Brown skinned beauty beaming beside one of the most controversial figures in American history, flanked by others of her striking a sexy pose beside a cream convertible quickly fill up the white space. With shining skin and radiant, raven hued hair, she is confident, she is beautiful, she is Playmate of the Year. She is also deeply unhappy.   “ The thing about modeling is that it’s completely superficial,” she told Hello Beautifu l in an exclusive Interview.  “It’s the only job the only career that’s completely superficial based on what you look like. Based on what you look like, they can tell you yes or no. With that being said you can be the most perfect, the most amazing, you can be at your very best and then you’ll get ‘Nos’ all around just because.”   Source: Photo by Phillip Faraone/WireImage / Photo by Phillip Faraone/WireImage She admitted that the constant rejection and the “toxic” culture upheld by less than ethical people impacted her greatly. “When I first started modeling I told myself that I would only do this until it made me feel bad about myself, like I didn’t want to do it if it was going to be something that was going to lower my self-esteem, lower my self-worth, and make me feel bad about myself you know, and ultimately start making you hate yourself. As I went on modeling it slowly started to do that.” The only solution to feeling like the industry was in control of her self-worth was proving to herself that she was strong enough to walk away from it. Source: Photo by Charley Gallay/Getty Images for Playboy “I took about a year off in 2017 to really just reconnect with myself and silence all the noise. I really had to stop and take some time off and recover myself and decide to decide that I’m great regardless. Like that’s the choice that you have to make. So for me now, it’s about knowing who I am, getting in touch with who I am, and deciding that I am amazing regardless of what anybody thinks.” Modeling afforded Washington many opportunities including the chance to travel to Barcelona and Cape Town, which she described as “the most majestic place I have ever been to in my life,” but she wasn’t prepared to make her entire life about the profession. Washington opted to return to the modeling industry but on terms that satisfied her ambitions beyond the runway. For a long time I felt that I couldn’t do that because you’ll gain weight and it will be hard to match your measurements.” Nevertheless, the industry is changing. Model Chanel Iman has had a child and a successful career while Slick Woods literally went into labor while backstage at the Fenty x Savage show in 2019 . Models as moms are becoming more of a norm and less of a phenomenon or sign of a career ending.  “When I realized that I have control of my life and I can decide what I want and everything will fall into place anyway, I gave myself permission to have those dreams and goals outside of my profession,” Washington shared.  The joy in her voice is evident as she speaks about the possibilities of living without restriction. “ I just want to have fun! I want to have a fun life outside of business all the time and working and obligations.” View this post on Instagram @danessa_myricks is legendary and you’re blessed if she touches your face. ThankYou LoveYou A post shared by EUGENA (@eugenawashington) on Oct 10, 2018 at 7:50am PDT   She chose to work with people that fit her career and personal goals instead of contorting herself into the industry mold. “I chose them because they work with me, they believe in me and that they push me and that’s what it takes to be successful somebody who believes in you and pushes you and wants to work with you. Like all the names and hype and stuff, you could be sitting IMG’s board and not doing shit because they don’t believe in you.” She was selective when she opted to step back in front of the camera.   “I’ve been modeling ever since the show, I’ve been through so many agencies girl it’s just about who works for you and who works with you. Each agency looks for something different and if we’re honest we’re just dealing with people,” she added. “I had to work that out too and it took me a while to learn that because I thought it was about the name, if I get with this name and that name then I’ll…but no! People can shelve you. I’ve been shelved but I’ve also been pushed.” View this post on Instagram Mmmmhmmm… Mua: @jordanliberty Photo: @juliakuzmenko A post shared by EUGENA (@eugenawashington) on Jul 14, 2018 at 11:28am PDT She is careful about the kind of people that she allows in her space duly protective of the peace that accompanies her evolved perspective at work and at play.  “I learned I had a lot of toxic people around me and I didn’t know how. I was just like trying to heal and save everybody and trying to be nice.”  Being socialized to be the “nice girl” had consequences when she found it difficult to speak up for herself or even be honest with herself. She said she had to learn to say “I don’t like this” or “This doesn’t make me feel good”. It was tough for her “saying how I feel and being okay with saying how I feel and being okay with my anger and being okay with someone not liking me and using my power and my strength.”  View this post on Instagram I think it's gone be shoulders all summer @louieaguila @iamkevinwade @queenwink A post shared by EUGENA (@eugenawashington) on May 26, 2018 at 12:34pm PDT “My mom was always like ‘Just be a nice person,’ I was just trying to be a nice person, I thought that’s all you had to do. So I didn’t really have my guard up.” That guard stands tall now, “I had to stop being nice. That’s the journey I’m on right now, developing my inner bitch because people will be like ‘Oh you’re so pretty, I can just disrespect you and treat you like you ain’t shit and treat you like you’re dumb and you’re just a pretty model.’ And I would just internalize like ‘You know what? This person is hurting so let me just internalize that.’  No. I don’t have to take anything! How dare you talk to me crazy ’cause you’re a nobody. No one’s above me and I had to realize that. I had to take control of my life I had to boss up and find my inner bitch.”   Evidence that her belief in herself stands strong can be found in her willingness to come out of her comfort zone. She has started developing a haircare line and a podcast . “That was a way for me to establish myself in a different way where I wasn’t just basically relying on how I look because that also gets old. You know? There other parts of me! I have other talents and there other ambitions.”   Today, she is proud to say, “I get my self worth from other places.”   View this post on Instagram Everything you've ever wanted is yours. She said she plans to, “ Empty my best self out to the world.” “It helps me heal by helping other people heal because when I’m talking to you about what I’ve learned I’m also getting more downloads and answers.” She wants to offer support, “ Because I didn’t have it,” and says she relates to the conversations on social media about the perils of being “the strong friend.”  “It was hard because I’ve been through a lot of shit. You know when you just go through one thing after another? I had to take my way through and not be taken over. I was in an abusive relationship. I had an abortion when I was in my early twenties. So in those situations I didn’t have the guidance to help me navigate through those situations I had to just use my common sense and consider how to move forward in the best way possible. I was kind of overwhelmed so I had to take some time off and kind of heal some things in myself. And in that time of healing it was like I’ve figured out these things I’ve rectified them for myself and I’m not ashamed of them so I might as well talk about them.”  View this post on Instagram October, you so pretty…. A post shared by EUGENA (@eugenawashington) on Oct 1, 2019 at 8:57am PDT She isn’t afraid of some of the backlash that public figures have gotten for being raw about their feelings and emotions.  “I’ve always felt like if people are watching me you might as well give them a show and if you give them a show then that means you’re in charge of the narrative, and I’m not a shy person either. I feel like if you tell somebody your business they can’t come back and throw it in your face because you already told them what it was so that’s kind of what it is for me.”  After years of using her looks she is excited about what will happen when she opens her mouth.  “Instead of hiding away from the things that I’ve been through and learned from and overcame I stood out in front of them because its my story regardless.” DON’T MISS: MODEL MONDAY: Cheyenne Maya-Carty Skated Into Her Dreams MODEL MONDAY: Nyakim Gatwech Is A Model With A Message For Black Girls MODEL MONDAY: Nicque Marina Went From The Air Force To Fashion Week By Following MadameNoire [ione_media_gallery src=”https://hellobeautiful.com” id=”3063794″ overlay=”true”]

Jade Cline Gets Roasted By Teen Mom Fans: You’re Selling Sex, Just Like Farrah!

Jade Cline is still relatively new to the world of Teen Mom stardom. After starring in a single season of Teen Mom: Young and Pregnant, Cline was selected to replace Jenelle Evans on Teen Mom 2 after Evans was finally fired. So while, she’s been in the spotlight for a couple years, Jade just experienced a major boost to her public profile. Going from a first-year spinoff to a popular, long-running series like Teen Mom 2 is like being called up to the majors. As a result, Jade is making more money, and she’s more popular than ever on social media. That may sound like an unimportant side effect of fame, but the increased following brings with it the opportunity to make big bucks from sponsored content. Unfortunately, it also means Jade has more haters than ever before. And these days, she’s being compared to one of the most reviled Teen Moms of all time — Farrah Abraham. During her time on Teen Mom OG, Farrah continued to perform in online sex shows , a decision that eventually got her fired from the show. (In reality, she was probably canned because producers were sick of being abused by her, but the Cam Soda partnership provided a convenient excuse.) Now, Jade is being accused of following in Farrah’s footsteps by partnering with an adult toy company. On Thursday, Cline invited her fans to enter a giveaway for a chance to win three free vibrators. “Hey guys! I’ll be partnering with [Vush] this week to put together an amazing giveaway bundle to one of my followers! Stay tuned! Will be posting the giveaway and how to enter this week on my page,”  Cline later offered specifics — along with the photo below, in which she can be seen showing off Vush’s wares. “3x Vibrator bundles from Vush to 3 lucky people in the comment section,” Jade wrote. “Each bundle includes The Empress, Your Majesty and The Rose! ($400 value per bundle).” For reasons that aren’t entirely clear, this promotion left some of Jade’s followers deeply irritated. “The next Farrah,” wrote one commenter. “I actually thought u were one of the good moms…” another remarked. “Wtf! Another Farrah in the making!” another echoed. “Y’all really have to come up with better insults,” Cline replied. She’s right about that. For one, there’s a major difference between what Farrah did (making a career in the adult film business and falsely claiming that her debut feature was a privately-filmed “sex tape”) and what Jade is doing — which is just a slight variation on what most reality stars do on their social media pages. From the start, Jade was upfront about the whole thing. Rather than attempt to Trojan Horse in ad into what appears to be a regular post, she stated at the outset that she’s promoting products for Vush. There’s no sneakiness involved, so is it really just the nature of the products that has people pissed off? WTF? Is Jade starring on Teen Mom 2 or Counting On? Fortunately, Cline has received a good deal of support from fans who aren’t embarrassing prudes. “People act like they have never seen a sex toy before,” one fan remarked. We couldn’t have said it better ourselves. View Slideshow: Jade Cline vs. Ashley Jones: Brawl Breaks Out at Teen Mom 2 Reunion!

Jacqueline Laurita Simply GOES OFF on Teresa Giudice: What a Dumb, Selfish Felon!

Come on now, Jacqueline Laurita. Don’t beat around the bush. Tell us how you really feel about Teresa Giudice. Appearing on something called The LookOver Ladies podcast this Tuesday night, Laurita absolutely laid into the polarizing Real Housewives of New Jersey star, referencing the rumor that Teresa cheated on her husband and citing the joint interview she recently did with Joe. “They both did each other wrong,” Laurita said simply, adding in pointed detail: “They both cheated on each other, they both did wrongdoing. “They don’t trust each other. That’s the problem with the marriage — besides the resentment, the time apart, there’s no trust. They don’t trust each other. They both know that each other have been unfaithful.” That seems nearly impossible to disagree with. Joe certainly thinks Teresa cheated and Teresa has flat-out said that she won’t remain in the marriage if/when Joe officially gets deported to Italy. Jacqueline — who ceased being a regular castmember on The Real Housewives of New Jersey in 2014 — went on to say she thinks Teresa resents Joe for a number of reasons … and that she’s never been able to take accountability for her own illegal actions. ( Teresa spent time in jail after pleading guilty to her role in a bankruptcy fraud scheme, and seems like a very awful individual overall.) “She’s a narcissist, sociopath,” Jacqueline said this week. Of Teresa’s financial scheming, the ex-reality star says: She didn’t know everything, but she is not innocent for sure. I know this. And I think that she’s angry at [Joe] because she felt like she spent that time away from her kids, her family, the public embarrassment. A nd also the fact that once she got out, her mom passed away shortly after, and she was very close to her mom, so she looked at it like a time of that year I could’ve spent with my mom before she died, but I had to spend it here. Yes. Because she committed a crime. Teresa has said many times that she won’t move with her daughters to unite the family  in Italy, a decision that Laurita finds appalling. “If that was my husband and my husband had to do all that, I would go wherever he went,” Jacqueline said of Joe’s likely deportation to his native country . “When I was in New Jersey, when my husband got the job out here [in California]…it wasn’t an easy decision for me because I had family here obviously, but I still had to pick up my kids, uproot them from their [lives] to move them out here. “I don’t care if my husband had to go out of the country. I don’t care where he went, I love my husband so much, wherever he goes, I would go with him.” View Slideshow: Teresa Giudice vs. Joe Giudice: The Most Shocking Interview Reveals! Laurita went on to say Teresa is forcing her kids to live in a “toxic environment” because they are so often in the press and being teased at school. Laurita also  called Teresa a “very calculated manipulator” and continued to trash the Bravo personality: She’s a narcissist, she really believes that she’s like this… She’s famous? She’s infamous! I would never wanna be famous for flipping tables, acting classless, being dumb and being a felon. I’m sorry! I just wouldn’t want that. Giudice was front and center on last night’s Real Housewives of New Jersey premiere ; she clearly isn’t leaving the spotlight any time soon. “It’s actually sad,” Laurita concludes of how Teresa has changed. “When I first met her, she was very lighthearted, ditsy, but always just so funny because she was so stupid. I think that she would just say dumb things, and I would laugh all the time. “I always had laughs with her. It was lighthearted and fun. I wasn’t a threat to her, so she didn’t show that ugly side of her to me because I’m one to praise my friends, I like them to feel good, that’s what I did for her. I helped her out, I made her feel good. “Teresa likes ‘yes’ friends and people who will always agree with her. She likes fans, not friends.” In the end? “She [has] no loyalty to her family, I’ll tell you that right now,” Jacqueline says.

Under the guidance of his school’s chess coach Shawn Martinez , he learned how to play chess within a year and began participating in competitive matches. He went on to win the New York State Chess Championship title for the kindergarten through third-grade division. While in the spotlight for excelling at chess, a focus was put on Adewumi and his family’s living situation. His family fled from Africa to the U.S. to escape the Boko Haram extremist group two years ago and had been living in a homeless shelter. After their story received national attention, a GoFundMe page was created in an effort to help his family afford a permanent home. The Adewumi’s received over $200,000 from their fundraising campaign and moved into an apartment near Tani’s school. They also utilized the money to launch the Tanitoluwa Adewumi Foundation to help African immigrants in the U.S. who are facing financial hardships. “Anybody who is coming from Africa who is in the position we were in, we will help them. I want to release my blessing to others,” Adewumi’s father Kayode said in a statement . The film will be based on three books about the family that will be released under the W Publishing group in 2020. Lauren Conrad Welcomes Second Baby: What Is It?!?

The Hills are alive with the sounds of… … crying. Both of the happy and frustrated variety, we should specify, because Lauren Conrad just welcomed a brand new baby into the world! The former MTV personality confirmed this blessed piece of news herself on Wednesday evening being an adorable drawing of what we presume to be herself, her husband William Tell and their two kids. “Our sweet baby boy, Charlie Wolf Tell, has arrived!” Conrad wrote on Instagram as a caption to the cool image below. The couple is already parents to son Liam James Tell, 2. The Hills alumna initially shared news of her second pregnancy back in April, posting a sweet photo of her bump and writing along with it: “It’s been hard to keep this one to myself! Very excited to share that our family will be getting a little bigger this year.” Conrad, who has remained mostly out of the spotlight ever since the original The Hills went off the air (she plays no role in the much-maligned reboot) married Tell in a September 2014 sunset ceremony at a boutique winery. She mostly makes a living these days in the fashion industry. A decade before tying the knot and shifting her goals, however, an 18-year-old Conrad sky-rocketed to prominence after being cast on Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. This reality show chronicled her and her friends’ lives in their hometown of Laguna Beach, California. This series was then spunoff to create The Hills two years later. After it went off the air, though, Conrad really focused on her family life and the fashion world, never even responding to shade hurled her way by former rivals Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. She really does seem far over all that these days. Earlier this year, meanwhile, Lauren opened up about finding her footing when it comes to parenthood. “Feeling like your quote unquote old self, I think takes a really long time,” she said in her Asking For a Friend podcast, adding at the time: “For me, I would argue it took me at least a year to start feeling like normal again.” We’re guessing millions and millions of women can relate to this quote and the sentiment behind it. Thankfully, the ex-reality star has learned to lean on her parents — and her husband’s family. “There is a lot of pressure to do it on your own and I felt that even with all the help I was like, ‘No, I need to do this all by myself,'” Lauren said. “I don’t know when we decided that that was the way it was supposed to be or set that standard because it’s so impossible. When you’re not sleeping, that’s a form of torture! “You’ll literally lose your mind to the point where I was like, ‘I don’t know if I’m qualified to watch a baby right now. I don’t know if I should be left along with my child. I haven’t slept in three days. I’m so tired.'” We feel ya, LC. And we’re so very happy for you and William! Congrats on the new addition!

Teen Mom Dads, Husbands & Boyfriends Ranked: Who’s #1?!

So how great are all those guys on Teen Mom, huh?! Such remarkable specimens of manhood, every one of them, filled to the brim with integrity, compassion, and grace. … Wait, like 85% of them are completely terrible human beings ? Well, huh. Sure, some of them baby daddies are awful, but some of the aren't! Some of them are kind of OK, and a few are even great ! Check out our ranking of all the Teen Mom fellas, from best to worst. And prepare to be amazed, as always, at the level of awfulness on this show. 1. Cole DeBoer Cole DeBoer is Chelsea Houska’s husband, and thank goodness for that. He’s a wonderful stepfather to Aubree (and he’s made it clear that he’s ready to adopt her if/when Adam gives up his parental rights for her like he did with his other child), he and Chelsea have had two precious babies together so far, and ever since he first came on the show, he’s been perfect. He’s an easy number one, y’all. 2. Taylor McKinney Taylor McKinney is Maci Bookout’s husband, and they share two children together, Jayde and Maverick — and they’re often talking about having more, whether it’s through more pregnancies or fostering and adoption. They’re also raising Bentley, the son Maci had with Ryan Edwards, and it’s safe to say that Taylor is doing all the heavy dad lifting there, too. Sure, Taylor drinks Bud Light like it’s water and he’s in a desert, but he’s an amazing father. 3. Tyler Baltierra Tyler Baltierra has been with Catelynn Lowell since they were 12 years old (yes, literally), and when she got pregnant at 16, they placed their daughter up for adoption. They’ve since had two more children, daughters Nova and Vaeda, and they’ve been through just a lot of stuff together. He can be pretty insensitive sometimes, but he’s proven that he’s one of the best dads and husbands in the whole franchise. 4. Gary Shirley Let’s just say it: Gary was not great in the early days of Teen Mom. He never did anything to deserve being abused by Amber, to be clear, but he was kind of a jerk. Fortunately he’s matured a bit over the years, and he seems like a great father to Leah and Emilee, the daughter he shares with wife Kristina. And thank goodness for that, because it looks like Amber may be headed back to prison soon. 5. Andrew Glennon Oh, Andrew … where do we begin? He loses points for his history of restraining orders, but the way he’s stepped up for baby James after Amber’s horrifying meltdown in July is definitely commendable. Since the arrest, we’ve heard plenty of evidence that’s proved that she’d been abusing him for nearly a year before the July assault, and Andrew has said that she’d even been rough with James, too. It looks like he’s placing James’ safety and wellbeing above all else, and if that’s not being a good dad, what is? 6. Corey Simms Corey Simms was married to Leah Messer, and they had twins Ali and Gracie. They got divorced when Leah couldn’t stay faithful to him (and also because they had twins and got married when they were teenagers), but Corey’s been a good father, and a good coparent with Leah. He’s just a good ol’ boy, y’all. View Slideshow

Sophia Abraham Curses Out "F–king Haters," Enters Therapy

Imagine having Farrah Abraham for a mom. Or, it that thought experiment is too terrifying for a Friday, just take a good long look at the life of Sophia Abraham. Sophia's been in the spotlight literally since the day she was born, and while many hoped she might be able to enjoy a somewhat normal childhood after Farrah got fired from Teen Mom OG , that hasn't turned out to be the case. In fact, the problem of overexposure seems to have gotten worse, as Farrah drags the 10-year-old to red carpet events all over the world, as though Sophia is some sort of a fashion accessory.  And now, it seems that fishbowl existence is beginning to have a major impact on the young girl's mindset. Take a look: 1. Like Mother, Like Daughter Very few 10-year-olds spend as much time posing for selfies and attending red carpet events as Sophia Abraham. 2. The Team To be fair, Farrah’s daughter does seem to enjoy all the attention — but that observation comes with two caveats: 3. Too Much, Too Soon For one, even if she likes it, showering a 10-year-old with constant praise and attention from adults — most of them strangers — is probably not a good thing. 4. Farrah’s Version On top of that, the only insight we gain into Sophia’s experience is filtered through Farrah, so naturally, we’re given the impression that she’s living every child’s dream. 5. Sophia’s Choice And so, despite how much time she spends in the public eye, it’s still very difficult to tell exactly what’s going on with Sophia. 6. Learning From the Past But we know from many prior examples that child stars often find it difficult to navigate the road to adolescence. And at least those poor kids didn’t have Farrah freakin’ Abraham for a mother. View Slideshow

Josiah Duggar & Lauren Swanson Share Baby Registry With Fans: Buy Us Stuff, Y’all!

If you’re a Counting On fan, then you’re probably already aware that we’re in the middle of a full-blown Duggar baby boom . No fewer than four Duggar couples are currently expecting, and Jessa Duggar just welcomed her third child in May. Of course, the bulk of the public’s attention is being paid to the couples who are expecting for the first time — couples like Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson. Back in May, the Duggars announced that Lauren is pregnant . The news was met with an even larger tidal wave of encouragement and enthusiasm than usual, owing to the fact that Swanson suffered a miscarriage in February. So despite the fact that half his freakin’ family has a kid on the way Josiah and Lauren are very much in the spotlight right now. In fact, more than any other time since their wedding, the couple is at the center of fans’ attention. And it looks as though they’re seeking to cash in on the opportunity. Yes, Josiah and Lauren are now participating in one of the most controversial Duggar traditions by posting their baby registry online so that fans can buy them items from the list. “Thank you for visiting our baby registry! We are so thankful and blessed for our sweet baby girl that’s on the way,” reads a greeting on the couple’s website. Most of the items are standard — such as diapers, baby monitors, and nursery decor, but there’s also an option to simply purchase Amazon gift cards for Josiah and Lauren. As for the nursery, Josiah and Lauren are expecting a girl , but they’ve encouraged fans not to go overboard on pink baby furniture. “As far as [the] nursery,” they wrote, “we are going with more of a gender neutral theme (black, white, wood).” Not surprisingly, the reaction to fans has been less than ebullient: “I may be wrong but TLC and their personal appearances [probably] pay them well,” wrote one visitor to the website. “Donate to a charity in their name [instead].”  The Duggars have been down this road before, such as when they took flak for posting Joseph Duggar and Kendra Caldwell’s baby registry on several websites related to family news and events/  “Very, very uncool. … There are ways to circulate this info to the guests. This is a gift solicitation for the FANS,” wrote one fan at the time. Many others echoed the sentiment, and the registry was eventually taken down. We guess Josiah and Lauren didn’t learn from that debacle. But hey, we guess it’s less shady than when Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar begged fans for cash , straight-out! Maybe the Duggars are very slowly learning how to not seem so desperate! View Slideshow: Josiah and Lauren Duggar Reveal Gender of First Baby (EEEEK!!!!!)
