The New York veteran filed sued against Rasheed “Ralo” Harrison and his company for allegedly forging Grease’s name in order to reap the benefits of royalties from the millions of records sold under the producer’s guiding hand. BOSSIP exclusively reports that Grease has filed court papers against Harrison, claiming that the Wonder Boy Publishing honcho managed to illegally obtain the rights to Grease’s catalog and royalty statements. In a statement to BOSSIP and further reporting from the outlet, Grease realized that along with him getting fleeced, Harrison may have pulled this move on others as well. “Actually, my first thought was to get on some street s**t,” Grease tells BOSSIP . “With selling 60 million records, I knew the residuals weren’t coming back. I was seeing royalty statements for a couple of hundred dollars.” Keep up with Dame Grease on Instagram here .  Salute to the new Snoop Dogg, the new Lou Rawls. — Photo: WENN

Under the guidance of his school’s chess coach Shawn Martinez , he learned how to play chess within a year and began participating in competitive matches. He went on to win the New York State Chess Championship title for the kindergarten through third-grade division. While in the spotlight for excelling at chess, a focus was put on Adewumi and his family’s living situation. His family fled from Africa to the U.S. to escape the Boko Haram extremist group two years ago and had been living in a homeless shelter. After their story received national attention, a GoFundMe page was created in an effort to help his family afford a permanent home. The Adewumi’s received over $200,000 from their fundraising campaign and moved into an apartment near Tani’s school. They also utilized the money to launch the Tanitoluwa Adewumi Foundation to help African immigrants in the U.S. who are facing financial hardships. “Anybody who is coming from Africa who is in the position we were in, we will help them. I want to release my blessing to others,” Adewumi’s father Kayode said in a statement . The film will be based on three books about the family that will be released under the W Publishing group in 2020. Noah will produce the project alongside Bob Teitel , George Tillman Jr. , Norman Aladjem , and Haroon Saleem . Paramount has acquired the project. The White Privileged Audacity Of Golden State Warriors’ Part Owner Pushing Kyle Lowry

UPDATED: 1:16 p.m. EDT — The NBA franchise co-owner who shoved a rival team’s star player Wednesday night was swiftly punished by the league, according to a new report. But considering the flagrant and angry natures of Mark Stevens pushing Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry during Game 3 of the NBA Finals, it was fair to question whether the punishment was adequate. According to Bloomberg , Stevens has been banned from attending any more games this season, which, at the most, are only four more contests this month. But after that, it would appear that Stevens’ punishment ends there. Bloomberg’s report came after NBA star LeBron James demanded Stevens be punished. James sounded off via his Instagram, claiming in part that Stevens “knew exactly what he was doing which was so uncalled for. He knew the rules more than just the average person sitting watching the game courtside so for that Something needs to be done ASAP! A swift action for his actions.” View this post on Instagram There’s absolutely no place in our BEAUTIFUL game for that AT ALL. There’s so many issues here. When you sit courtside you absolutely know what comes with being on the floor and if you don’t know it’s on the back on the ticket itself that states the guidelines. But he himself being a fan but more importantly PART-OWNER of the Warriors knew exactly what he was doing which was so uncalled for. He knew the rules more than just the average person sitting watching the game courtside so for that Something needs to be done ASAP! A swift action for his actions. Just think to yourself, what if @kyle_lowry7 would have reacted and put his hands back on him. You guys would be going CRAZY!! Calling for him to damn near be put in jail let alone being suspended for the rest of the Finals all because he was protected himself. I’ve been quite throughout the whole NBA playoffs watching every game (haven’t missed one) but after I saw what I saw last night, took time to let it manifest into my thinking I couldn’t and wouldn’t be quiet on this! #ProtectThePlayers #PrivilegeAintWelcomeHere A post shared by LeBron James (@kingjames) on Jun 6, 2019 at 9:42am PDT James hinted that the outrage would be much more widespread of Lowry, a Black man, pushed Stevens, a man whose angry facial expression appeared to be fueled by every ounce of his white privilege when he shoved the player for no good reason.   Original story:   Source: Lachlan Cunningham / Getty T he Golden State Warriors are seeing their chances of winning a third straight NBA championship grow dimmer right before their eyes. That fact was on display for the world to see Wednesday night when the Toronto Raptors traveled to Oracle Arena to defeat the defending champions on their home court in decisive fashion. Source: Lachlan Cunningham / Getty But one person, in particular, had perhaps the most unique vantage point while experiencing that truth when the Raptors’ star guard Kyle Lowry dove into the crowd to save a ball during Game 2 of the NBA Finals . Lowry landed with great force on some of those folks who paid a pretty penny for courtside seats that sometimes can put you right in the middle of game action. That was the case for one white man who happened to be hit by Lowry’s fast-flinging body. But rather than understand that was a possibility with courtside seats, he reacted with anger and violence to Lowry making contact. “How dare he touch me,” that white man looked like he must have been thinking when he pushed Lowry. Kyle Lowry was shaking his head after a courtside fan pushed him when he fell into the crowd. pic.twitter.com/5SwQv3hdnN — NBA on ESPN (@ESPNNBA) June 6, 2019 Well, turns out that man has been identified, and his actions may not seem so surprising when finding out he who he is. According to Axios , he is “ part Warriors owner” Mark Stevens . “The fact it wasn’t just a fan but someone tied to the Warriors significantly ups the stakes,” Axios wrote. Source: Lachlan Cunningham / Getty Stevens at once displayed some of the most entitled white privilege seen in recent months by shoving Lowry, whose hard dedicated play could threaten the part owner’s pocketbook if the Raptors beat the Warriors. “The fans have a place; we love our fans,” Lowry told ESPN . “But fans like that shouldn’t be allowed to be in there, because it’s not right. I can’t do nothing to protect myself.” Source: Ezra Shaw / Getty That commonly known fact to even the average basketball fan was apparently of very little consequence to Stevens, who would later be escorted from the arena that the team he partially owns calls home. Chances are he’s facing a hefty fine from the NBA and major pushback from the league’s players who have as recently as this past season been demanding more protection from overzealous fans who feel entitled because of how close they sit to the game. He still gotta get banned. https://t.co/VvbduOnI8a — David Dennis Jr. (@DavidDTSS) June 6, 2019 Conversely, Stevens’ fellow courtside audience members included none other than recently crowned billionaire Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé , who were the model of grace (except for that one moment where Queen Bey looked like she was going to snatch the wig off of Becky With The Good Hair — spoiler: she didn’t.) beyoncé’s face when shorty leaned over to talk to jay pic.twitter.com/5PqIhCmgGy — iffy (@somalijawn) June 6, 2019 The news came just days after it was reported that the NBA was moving away from labeling those with major stakes in NBA franchises as “owners.” The racial implication of the loaded term in a league of Black players and white owners was finally being recognized by the NBA. Perhaps Stevens didn’t get the memo. So I love that about it. It is a lot to carry, but so is being Serena Williams” This is the second time that the 37-year-old has worked with Abloh, who designed her amazing U.S. Open tutu outfit last year . As we previously reported, last year’s catsuit was more than just a fashion statement, it was also a means of preventing blood clots, which Serena has a history of developing. But that still didn’t stop French Tennis Federation president Bernard Giudicellli from updating the dress code to ban catsuits, saying “I think that sometimes we’ve gone too far … One must respect the game and the place.” As if Serena has ever disrespected this game. She is the game. We’re just glad to see her back! He TRIED It: Trump Supporter Calls 911 On Black Lyft Driver For Not Turning On The Radio

Jaap Arriens/NurPhoto via Getty Images White Passenger Calls Cops On Black Lyft Driver For “Racial Profiling” A  Trump  supporter berated his Lyft driver with the N word, and has since been fired from his job after a video of the harassment went completely viral. Buckle your seatbelts for this one, y’all…. The Lyft driver, Shawn Pepas Lettman, calmly filmed the 16-minute lashing out by passenger Robert Ortiz and his two friends, who called the New York City Police after Lettman refused to turn on the radio. “I feel racially profiled … because I’m not black,” Ortiz told the 911 operator. He later adds, “If this guy does anything to threaten my life, I have to defend myself. … I’m a little fearful.” The passenger then proceeds to get the phone with Lyft. “Maybe because I’m not black … I was charged $8.01 for just asking for music,” said Ortiz, while threatening to file a lawsuit against the company. “I came out of a gay club and your driver is racist against gay people,” Ortiz rants, adding, “I know my legal rights as an American citizen that voted for Trump…” Ortiz also calls the Lyft operator, “a piece of s***.”  In another video call to a friend, Ortiz uses the N word multiple times to describe Lettman. Ortiz then accuses Lettman of illegally filming him and says, “So, I’m going to make sure, while you’re recording this, that you never have a job as a Lyft driver again.” When the driver finally speaks, he points to a sign in his car that states passengers will be recorded, to which Ortiz threatens to “make your night a living hell.” Ortiz continues to dig himself into a deeper hole, yelling about, “All that Black Lives Matter is bulls***.” He calls the police again while refusing to leave the car. “I bet you if I was black — and Black Lives Matter,” he spits, “he would have put the music on. F*** Black Lives Matter — every life matters … all I asked for was music.” Following their publishing of the story, a representative from Lyft sent a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle : “The behavior exhibited in the video is deeply concerning. Lyft is committed to maintaining an inclusive and welcoming community and discriminatory behavior is unacceptable. We temporarily deactivated both passenger and driver accounts while we investigated the situation. After reviewing all sides, we reactivated Mr. Lettman’s account within hours and permanently disabled the passenger account. We have also reached out to Mr. Lettman to express our support.” Lettman explained that after he stopped recording, he called the police in fear of his own safety. “I didn’t ask for this nor did I want this,” he wrote. “I know America is better than this and despite the hate, we have to deal with from a few, my heart tells me, the world is mostly good.” On Thursday, Ortiz’s former employer, medical clinic CityMD, wrote in a  Facebook comment , “This is to confirm that this individual was terminated and is no longer employed by or affiliated with CityMD in any capacity.” You can watch the video from the absolutely insane incident below.

Kailyn Lowry: I’ll Write My Own Tell-All WITHOUT Javi Marroquin!

Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin are no longer writing a book together, but that doesn’t mean that Kailyn’s done writing. No, Kail is coming out with her own book. And we can only imagine the things that she’ll have to say, considering that Javi will no longer be her coauthor. And apparently it’s all because Javi Marroquin is banging Briana DeJesus . Can you believe that there was a time when fans worried that Briana being on the show would be boring? Until pretty recently, Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin were working together on a book, which would have been titled  He Said, She Said . The erstwhile coauthors had a falling out because, well, Javi could have dated any woman on the planet who isn’t one of his baby mama’s costars, but instead landed in bed with Briana DeJesus. And, of course, Briana DeJesus and Kailyn Lowry have been feuding . What a mess. Kailyn broke the news to RadarOnline that they’d canned their joint book-writing venture, and she phrased it as delicately as possible: “We are working diligently on the co-parenting thing. It was just too difficult to try to do business together at this time.” Kailyn Lowry rules at coparenting , so if she and Javi are struggling with it, then this is definitely intense. “It wasn’t going to work out because we recently fell back into a bad place.” Well, Javi did the falling . And Briana DeJesus was the bad place . Javi also had his statement about why he and Kailyn were no longer doing the book. “I decided I want to cut all ties with Kail and I didn’t want to come out with this book and have to go on tour. That’s behind me.” Really? He wants to cut all ties with Kailyn? What the heck does he call Lincoln, their son? We’ll chalk that up to a poor choice of words. Speaking of choice words, however, Kailyn has an announcement to make: Speaking to RadarOnline , Kailyn Lowry shares some exciting news. “I’ve experienced so much over the years but most importantly, I’ve learned a lot.” That’s true. Being a mother teaches you a lot, but being a reality star? That can be a very educational experience. Being both at once has to be an adventure. “I know that there are tons of mothers just like me in the world who are strong but also need support.” And she believes that she has valuable lessons to impart. “Just because you’re strong, doesn’t mean that you don’t need help.” Honestly, though, this is getting hyped as a tell-all book, and the publishing house says that there’s more than parenting advice within the promised pages. Orie, the CEO of 13th & Joan Publishing House, gushed about the Teen Mom star’s upcoming book: “There is so much that the world has yet to see of Kail and her talents.” That’s true. A lot of people just think of her as a woman who got pregnant as a teen. And then got pregnant again. And again. But there’s more to Kail than meets the eye, folks. “She is insightful and knows exactly what she wants to communicate through her writing.” Honestly, all of the talk of Kail as an avid writer makes us wonder if she has some undiscovered internet pen names. Maybe she’s written fanfic? “Her new projects will reveal so much about her as a mother and as a person.” That’s why it’s called a tell-all . “While the world watches and is led to believe that they have the full story, there is always more to be told.” Well, reality television never tells the whole story. And then there are time constraints. A book will be Kailyn putting her words out there and telling things from her perspective. It’s doubtful that we’ll get the same tell-all from her ex, as Javi Marroquin is being deployed by the Air Force and, obviously, won’t have time to write a book of his own any time soon. Fats Domino, Rock ‘N’ Roll Pioneer Has Died At Age 89

Continue reading here:

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Fats Domino , the amiable rock ‘n’ roll pioneer whose steady, pounding piano and easy baritone helped change popular music while honoring the traditions of the Crescent City, died Tuesday. He was 89. Mark Bone, chief investigator with the Jefferson Parish, Louisiana, coroner’s office, said Domino died of natural causes at 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. In appearance, he was no Elvis Presley. He stood 5-feet-5 and weighed more than 200 pounds, with a wide, boyish smile and a haircut as flat as an album cover. But Domino sold more than 110 million records, with hits including “Blueberry Hill,” ”Ain’t It a Shame” and other standards of rock ‘n’ roll. He was one of the first 10 honorees named to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the Rolling Stone Record Guide likened him to Benjamin Franklin, the beloved old man of a revolutionary movement. His dynamic performance style and warm vocals drew crowds for five decades. One of his show-stopping stunts was playing the piano while standing, throwing his body against it with the beat of the music and bumping the grand piano across the stage. Domino’s 1956 version of “Blueberry Hill” was selected for the Library of Congress’ National Recording Registry of historic sound recordings worthy of preservation. The preservation board noted that Domino insisted on performing the song despite his producer’s doubts, adding that Domino’s “New Orleans roots are evident in the Creole inflected cadences that add richness and depth to the performance.” Domino became a global star but stayed true to his hometown, where his fate was initially unknown after Hurricane Katrina struck in August 2005. It turned out that he and his family were rescued by boat from his home, where he lost three pianos and dozens of gold and platinum records, along with other memorabilia. Many wondered if he would ever return to the stage. Scheduled to perform at the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival in 2006, he simply tipped his hat to thousands of cheering fans. But in May 2007, he was back, performing at Tipitina’s music club in New Orleans. Fans cheered — and some cried — as Domino played “I’m Walkin’,” ”Ain’t It a Shame,” ”Shake, Rattle and Roll,” ”Blueberry Hill” and a host of other hits. That performance was a highlight during several rough years. After losing their home and almost all their belongings to the floods, his wife of more than 50 years, Rosemary, died in April 2008. Domino moved to the New Orleans suburb of Harvey after the storm but would often visit his publishing house, an extension of his old home in the Lower 9th Ward, inspiring many with his determination to stay in the city he loved. “Fats embodies everything good about New Orleans,” his friend David Lind said in a 2008 interview. “He’s warm, fun-loving, spiritual, creative and humble. You don’t get more New Orleans than that.” The son of a violin player, Antoine Domino Jr. was born on Feb. 26, 1928, to a family that grew to include nine children. As a youth, he taught himself popular piano styles — ragtime, blues, and boogie-woogie — after his cousin left an old upright in the house. Fats Waller and Albert Ammons were early influences. He quit school at age 14 and worked days in a factory while playing and singing in local juke joints at night. In 1949, Domino was playing at the Hideaway Club for $3 a week when he was signed by the Imperial record company. He recorded his first song, “The Fat Man,” in the back of a tiny French Quarter recording studio. “They call me the Fat Man because I weigh 200 pounds,” he sang. “All the girls, they love me, ’cause I know my way around.” In 1955, he broke into the white pop charts with “Ain’t it a Shame” — but actually sang the lyrics as “ain’t that a shame.” The song was covered blandly by Pat Boone as “Ain’t That a Shame” and rocked out years later by Cheap Trick. Domino enjoyed a parade of successes through the early 1960s, including “Be My Guest” and “I’m Ready.” Another hit, “I’m Walkin,’” became the debut single for Ricky Nelson. Domino appeared in the rock ‘n’ roll film “The Girl Can’t Help It” and was among the first black performers to be featured in popular music shows, starring with Buddy Holly and the Everly Brothers . He also helped bridge rock ‘n’ roll and other styles — even country/western, recording Hank Williams’ “Jambalaya” and Bobby Charles’ “Walkin’ to New Orleans.” Like many of his peers, Domino’s popularity tapered off in the 1960s as British and psychedelic rock held sway. Domino told Ebony magazine that he stopped recording because companies wanted him to update his style. “I refused to change,” he said. “I had to stick to my own style that I’ve always used or it just wouldn’t be me.” Antoine and Rosemary Domino raised eight children in the same ramshackle neighborhood where he grew up, but they did it in style — in a white mansion, trimmed in pink, yellow and lavender. The front double doors opened into an atrium with chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and ivory dominos set in a white marble floor. In 1988, all of New Orleans seemed to be talking about him after he reportedly paid in cash for two Cadillacs and a $130,000 Rolls-Royce. When the salesman asked if he wanted to call his bank about financing, Domino smiled and said, “I am the bank.” In 1998, he became the first purely rock ‘n’ roll musician to be awarded the National Medal for the Arts. But he cited his age and didn’t make the trip to the White House to get the medal from President Clinton. That was typical. Aside from rare appearances in New Orleans, he dodged the spotlight in his later years, refusing to appear in public or even to give interviews. Like BlackAmericaWeb.com on  Facebook . Crystal Hefner Breaks Silence, Addresses Husband’s Death

In the wake of Hugh Hefner’s death, nearly everyone that was close to the Playboy founder issued some kind of sorrowful statement. Nearly everyone except the woman married to him, that is. But Crystal Hefner has now broken her silence, two days after her famous husband was laid to rest in an intimate funeral attended by close friends and loved ones. “I haven’t been able to bring myself to write most people back to thank them for their condolences,” Crystal told E! News in a statement, adding simply and sadly: “I am heartbroken. I am still in disbelief.” Hefner passed away at the age of 91 last Wednesday. There had been rumors for several months that the publishing legend was ill, as he had not made any public appearances or posed for any pictures in quite awhile. Hefner was buried over the weekend alongside Marilyn Monroe, an honor for which he paid $75,000 back in 1992. “He is in the place he was always certain he wanted to spend eternity,” says Crystal. Only 31 years old, Crystal has always been aware that critics believed she married Hefner purely for his money and lifestyle. But she didn’t even bother to address those allegations in her chat with E! News. She stopped trying to convince those haters a long time ago. “He was an American hero. A pioneer. A kind and humble soul who opened up his life and home to the world,” she says, continuing as follows: “I felt how much he loved me. I loved him so much. I am so grateful. He gave me life. “He gave me direction. He taught me kindness. I will feel eternally grateful to have been by his side, holding his hand, and telling him how much I love him.” Concludes the widow: “He changed my life, he saved my life. He made me feel loved every single day. He was a beacon to the world, a force unlike anything else. “There never has and never will be another Hugh M. Hefner.” On that , everyone can likely agree. Those who attended Hefner’s funeral included Natalie Wood, Florence Henderson, Truman Capote, Eve Arden, Don Knotts, Walter Matthau, Carroll O’Connor and Roy Oribison. The publisher’s four kids were there, too, of course. “I join the world in mourning,” Crystal tells E! News. “I thank you for all of your condolences. To the people leaving sentiments at the front gate, we see you and grieve with you.” Hef’s last will and testament have yet not been made public. However, according to reports, his fortune, worth between $43 million and $110 million, is expected to go to his family and charities. There’s been talk t hat he left nothing for his wife . Taylor Swift: Does Her Squad Hate Tom Hiddleston?!

Obviously, Taylor Swift is best known as a multi-platinum recording artist, lover of cats , and living testament to the power of hair straightening. But when it comes to the gossip about her personal life, there are two types of Taylor conversations: The first and most obvious has to do with Taylor’s romantic relationships with famous men. The other has to do with Taylor’s squad , or “#Squad” as it’s sometimes known. Now, it looks like those two conversations may become one, as Swift’s highly-publicized relationship with Tom Hiddleston  has attracted the ire of some key squad members In case you’re somehow unaware, the squad is an A-list chick clique comprised of Taylor’s scores of famous friends. View Slideshow: Taylor Swift Squad Members: An Official Who’s Who! As the “Bad Blood” music video demonstrated, they will straight up murder your ass if you mess with Queen Tay. We’re speaking figuratively, of course, but we wouldn’t put it past them to actually straight up whack someone like the guy who told Joe Pesci to got get his shinebox in Goodfellas . Taylor Swift – Bad Blood (Music Video) All of this is to say that it’s not a good time to be Tom Hiddleston. According to Star magazine Karlie Kloss, Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid and Ruby Rose have all unfollowed Tom on Twitter, which is the 2016 equivalent of leaving a severed horse head in someone’s bed. (Okay, we promise that’s the end of the mob movie analogies.) Surprisingly, the anti-Hiddles uprising was reportedly initiated by Taylor’s brother, Austin, who has shown himself to be intensely protective of the singer in the past. Sources tell Star that the reason Taylor’s inner circle is so anti-Tom is that they believe his romantic intentions aren’t pure and that he’s using her in the most callous way. But apparently, they don’t suspect him of using her to boost his career as so many others have suggested. View Slideshow: Tom Hiddleston: 8 Things to Know About Taylor Swift’s New Bae Instead, they think Tom is dating Taylor as an elaborate act of revenge. Hiddleston dated Ashley Olsen for a brief period last year, and the squad reportedly believes he’s pretending to be head-over-heels with Taylor in order to make her jealous. Swift is said to be totally unaware of the con: “Tom’s charming and he knows exactly how to work Taylor,” a source tells the tabloid. “They could very well be on to something.” Or maybe they just really hated Loki in all those Marvel movies.  The world may never know!
