Daylight Saving Time 2016: IT’S (Almost) OVER!!!

Daylight Saving Time. It’s finally here, people. Almost. In just a few short hours, it will be, and when that time comes, we will in fact save daylight, turning the clocks back FOR GOOD. Or at least until March 12, 2017 arrives. Let’s break it all down real quick here: Sunday morning (November 6), Americans will come together and turn their clocks back. The savings of time? One … entire … hour. For all you Americans looking forward to a long, dark winter and the sun setting at freaking 4:00 on the east coast, it’s a thing of beauty. Which is virtually no one ever. But whatever. Hey, at least you get an extra hour of sleep! Well, unless you have kids who have no idea what the f–k is going on and just get up after X hours of sleep like they otherwise would. Okay, scratch that too. This sucks! Anyway, Daylight Saving Time remains inherently confusing for some people for some reason, which is why is THG is here to assist. See helpful graphics above. BAM!! If that’s still not sufficient, here’s a more detailed rundown of Daylight Saving Time 2016, and what you can expect next year, to boot: Daylight Saving Time began on Sunday, March 13 at 2 a.m. Time “springs” forward in the spring (how appropriate, as shown in the diagram below) and “falls” back by one hour (above, also fitting). TIP: Set your clocks ahead an hour before you go to bed. OR stay up until 2 a.m., turn the clocks to 1 a.m., then sleep. iPhones will do this automatically. Microwaves? Not so much. If you can’t figure out how to change the effing clock in your car, don’t worry. Make a mental (or Post-It) note that it’s fast until 3/12/16. It’ll start getting dark at f–king 4:30, as we said before. S–t. The concept of Daylight Saving Time dates all the way back to 1895, when the U.S. economy was much more agriculturally-based. In recent years, the duration of DST was extended to save energy nationwide. Translation: At least it’s not October-April? Standard Time is a misnomer, as it’s a shorter chunk of the year. In 2017, Daylight Saving Time begins on Sunday, March 12 (above). Arizona, Hawaii and Puerto Rico residents: Disregard. There you go, people. Jessa Duggar Turns 24, Receives ADORABLE Birthday Message from Ben Seewald!

Yesterday, November 4th, was a big day for Jessa Duggar: it was her 24th birthday! Well, it’s been a big week for her, really, as she so handily explained on Instagram a few days ago. “So many milestones this week for our little family!” she wrote. “I’m overwhelmed by God’s kindness!” “Nov 1st @ben_seewald and I celebrate out anniversary, Nov 3rd baby #2 enters the 3rd trimester, and Nov 5th #SpurgeonElliotSeewald celebrates his 1st birthday!” With all those milestones, Jessa seemed to forget her own birthday, but don’t worry — her husband didn’t. Ben Seewald got on the couple’s website yesterday to share a little letter he wrote with Jessa. And yeah, sure, sometimes this family can be super gross , but this is adorable. “Dearest Jessa,” the letter begins. “It’s your birthday, so I thought I’d take this opportunity to call you some names.” OK, OK, that’s not a great start, but hold on, it gets cute real quick. “‘Jessa-Blessa’: Because you were such a blessing to your parents growing up, and because you’re such a blessing to your own little family now. (Plus it rhymes!)” But wait, there’s more! So much more you might get a toothache. From all the sweetness, get it? Do you get it? “‘Bride’: I could call you ‘wife’ but ‘bride’ carries more of the romantic sentiment of our wedding day. Because I want the young love to continue and remember the vows we made to each other, I’ll call you ‘Bride’ … ‘MY Bride!'” “‘Mother’: Throwing this one in here for Spurgeon and Baby #2 because you are such a loving and caring mother to them. Since they’re too young to say ‘Happy birthday,’ I’ll say it for them.” “‘Beautiful’: Because you are! Inside and out!” “‘Amazing’: Okay … maybe not a name, but you are amazing!” (Ben’s really selling it now, right?) “‘Beloved’: Because you’re my Beloved and you are beloved of God.” Ben wrapped things up by writing “I thank God that He brought you into the world and that He brought us together!” “You’ve blessed my life and the lives of others in so many ways! I love you from the depths of my heart!” “Happy birthday, Sweetheart!” Absolutely nauseating, right? Of course we’d take seeing this over some of the other examples of Duggar marriage sadness we’ve seen recently, but still, it’s a little overwhelming. A few of Jessa’s siblings wrote some simple little “Happy Birthday!” messages on social media, but her parents, good ol’ Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar, were the only ones who came close to matching Ben’s thoughtfulness. They wrote a letter of their own, and they addressed it to “Jessa-Blessa,” so it looks like that’s actually a nickname of hers. “You are a blessing to us,” the OG Duggars wrote. “Happy Birthday!” “You went from being a high energy fun loving child, to a fun loving, responsible, mature, visionary, virtuous wife and mother.” “You have inspired thousands of young ladies to seek God, to wait for the one God has for them, and set an example how to dress modern, but modest.” “May God continue to bless your pregnancy, marriage and family. Jared Fogle: Ex-Wife Speaks Out, Details Worst Year of Her Life

The ex-wife of convicted sex offender Jared Fogle has opened up in a new interview with CBS This Morning. In a sit-down with the news outlet, Katie McLaughlin says she had no idea that the man who fathered her two children was a pedophile. She found out in the most dramatic, stunning way possible. “You could look up every word in a dictionary or thesaurus for ‘horrible’ and none of them describe what this year has been like,” McLaughlin told Anna Werner. She was married to Fogle for five years and is the mother of a five-year old and a three-year old she had with Fogle. When did she know that Fogle was in trouble with the law? When did she learn about the heinous allegations against him? When FBI agents knocked on the door of her home in July of last year, that’s when. “I knew nothing about his involvement in anything. … They just walk in and you’re just in shock,” she says. “I didn’t understand any of it to be honest. I mean, you just – you float out of yourself because the FBI shouldn’t be in your house.” Fogle, the former Subway spokesperson, was sentenced to 15 years behind bars in November for ogling photos of underage children online and for soliciting sex from them. In a new lawsuit filed against Subway by McLaughlin, she claims that the fast food chain was aware of Fogle’s illegal and disgusting activities while Fogle worked for it. “As early as 2004, Subway’s then Senior Vice President of Marketing received a complaint that Jared had approached a young girl at a promotional event for a Las Vegas Subway franchise for a sex act,” reads a portion of the legal document, obtained by Radar Online. It continues: “Subway exploited his family despite knowing of allegations that Jared was a pedophile and failing to properly investigate those allegations.” As part of this lawsuit, it came out that Fogle allegedly had sex with girls as young as nine years old. Yes, nine years old. A professor at the University of Ottawa in Canada who studied the ex-Subway spokesperson testified that his conclusion was Fogle suffered from mild pedophilia, hypersexuality and alcohol abuse and dependency, according to the Associated Press. “I can’t even think about him at this point in my life,” McLaughlin told CBS when asked if she still loves the father of her kids. “Of course there is anger there … he had two lives going on. Donald Trump: Alleged Child Rape Victim Drops Charges

Donald Trump is a disgusting human being. There, we said it. He’s overbearing, ignorant, cocky as hell, and just all-around terrible. He’s proved it time and time again throughout the years, and especially throughout this year as he’s somehow managed to work his way into the presidential race. He proved it when he admitted he doesn’t pay taxes and hasn’t for nearly two decades, he proved it when he told Billy Bush that he could go up to women and “grab them by the pussy.” To be clear, when Donald told Billy that he’s “a star” and he can “do anything” to women, even “grab them by the pussy,” he’s describing sexual assault. That’s not an opinion, that’s a fact. And it’s a fact worth mentioning, considering that Trump’s been accused of sexual assault by twelve different women. In one particularly disturbing case, a woman filed a lawsuit against him for raping her when she was just 13 years old. The suit was filed in June by a woman known only as Jane Doe, and she claimed that Donald, along with his pal and convicted child molester Jeffrey Epstein, “sexually and physically abused” her by making her “their sex slave.” A good amount of time has passed since this incident allegedly took place, but the woman has said that she was unable to file any charges or lawsuits earlier because she was threatened. “Immediately following this rape,” she claimed in court documents, “Defendant Trump threatened me that, were I ever to reveal any of the details of Defendant Trump’s sexual and physical abuse of me, my family and I would be physically harmed if not killed.” And on Wednesday, she was scheduled to come forward for the first time at a press conference to discuss her story. The conference was canceled because she’d received death threats. And now it looks like she’ll never come forward: she’s dropped all charges against Trump. Her lawyer, Lisa Bloom, explained things in a couple of messages on Twitter last night “Jane Doe instructed us to dismiss her lawsuit against Trump and Epstein today,” she wrote. “Tough week for her. Prince Andrew: Virginia Roberts’ Sex Slave Claims Are False!

Embattled royal family member Prince Andrew spoke publicly for the first time regarding Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged former sex slave, Virginia Roberts. Roberts has been dropping bombshell claims left and right about Prince Andrew, including in a new affidavit that also named Bill Clinton as a co-conspirator. Today, the Duke of York – Prince Charles’ brother and the uncle of Princes William and Harry – felt obliged to speak out, albeit briefly, for the first time. Appearing at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, he opened his speech by admitting he felt the need to address the “events” of recent weeks. “I just wish to reiterate and reaffirm the statements already made on my behalf by Buckingham Palace,” Prince Andrew said. “My focus is on my work.” Buckingham Palace previously denied the claims made against him in the past couple of weeks, and Andrew toed the official line during his Davos speech. According to ITV journalist Richard Edgar, “You could hear a pin drop when he spoke” about the sex scandal that has rapidly and shockingly developed. The royal has been besieged by stunning allegations courtesy of Jeffrey Epstein‘s “sex slave,” Virginia Roberts, who says she had sex with him three times. Prince Andrew Denies Sex Slave Claims One of those encounters was part of an orgy, Roberts claims. No wonder Kate Middleton doesn’t want royal family members around her kids anymore. Roberts, now 30, has come forward as one of scores of women regarded by U.S. prosecutors as ‘victims’ of the disgraced financier Epstein, 61. The billionaire had counted numerous celebrities, politicians and socialites as friends, including Clinton, Donald Trump and model Naomi Campbell. Perhaps most controversially, Epstein was also pals with two senior figures in British royal circles: Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson. Attempts from Roberts’ attorneys to get Andrew to speak on the subject have been rebuffed so far, and it remains to be seen if he will comment further. The woman’s lawyers sent him a certified letter asking him to sit for an interview under oath about her stunning claims, but the letter was refused.
