According to Page Six , in an email sent to NBC staffers, the network announced Gifford will stay through the morning show’s next anniversary, April 7, 2019. “In 2008, I joined the ‘Today Show’ family intending to spend one year. But something unexpected happened along the way: I fell in love with a beautiful, talented, extraordinary Egyptian goddess named Hoda, and an amazing group of individuals who work tirelessly and joyfully at their jobs, many of them starting at midnight, creating an unprecedented four hours of live television. “It’s bittersweet, as these things always are…” @kathielgifford announces she will be leaving TODAY on her 11th anniversary in April 2019. pic.twitter.com/x5EZXyIJNb — Kathie Lee and Hoda (@klgandhoda) December 11, 2018 “I stayed year after year making a million memories with people I will never forget. Gifford also continued to thank her longtime co-host  Hoda Kotb  along with fans during Tuesday’s 10 a.m. hour. “I want to thank everybody who has watched us all these years as well,” she added. CBS 42 reports that the mother of 9-year-old McKenzie Adams says bullying led her daughter to kill herself. McKenzie’s mom says her daughter complained to school officials numerous times about being bullied but little was done to stop it. On December 3, McKenzie’s grandma found her hanging in her home. “She told me that this one particular child was writing her nasty notes in class. It was just things you wouldn’t think a 9-year-old should know. And my baby to tell me some of the things they had said to her. I was like where are they learning this from” Adams said. “I just felt that our trust was in them that they would do the right thing. And it feels like to me it wasn’t it wasn’t done”. She also believes that race might have played a factor in her late daughter’s death. A white family friend drove McKenzie to school and she used to get picked on about it. “She was being bullied the entire school year, with words such as ‘kill yourself,’ ‘you think you’re white because you ride with that white boy,’ ‘you ugly,’ ‘black b***,’ ‘just die,’” McKenzie’s mom told The Tuscaloosa News. Funeral services for McKenzie Adams will be held next Saturday at Alabama’s U.S. Jones elementary school.
