According to Page Six , in an email sent to NBC staffers, the network announced Gifford will stay through the morning show’s next anniversary, April 7, 2019. “In 2008, I joined the ‘Today Show’ family intending to spend one year. But something unexpected happened along the way: I fell in love with a beautiful, talented, extraordinary Egyptian goddess named Hoda, and an amazing group of individuals who work tirelessly and joyfully at their jobs, many of them starting at midnight, creating an unprecedented four hours of live television. “It’s bittersweet, as these things always are…” @kathielgifford announces she will be leaving TODAY on her 11th anniversary in April 2019. pic.twitter.com/x5EZXyIJNb — Kathie Lee and Hoda (@klgandhoda) December 11, 2018 “I stayed year after year making a million memories with people I will never forget. Sony Hackers Threaten Terrorist Attacks on Theaters Showing The Interview

The group responsible for the Sony hacking scandal just took their campaign to a dangerous new level via a new message directed at both Sony executives and anyone planning to see the now-controversial comedy, The Interview. “We will clearly show it to you at the very time and places The Interview be shown, including the premiere,” reads the latest threat from the group known as Guardians of Peace. “How bitter fate those who seek fun in terror should be doomed to. Soon all will see what an awful movie Sony Pictures Entertainment has made.” “The world will be full of fear. Remember the 11th of September 2001. We recommend you to keep yourself distant from the places at that time. (If the house is nearby, you’d better leave.)…All will denounce Sony.” The broken English and cartoonish commands to “denounce Sony” perfectly encapsulate the bizarre mix of absurd humor and real fear that’s characterized this scandal. The hacks have damaged the reputations of Sony several Sony execs, two of whom were exposed for making  racist jokes about President Obama via their corporate email accounts. The Interview stars Seth Rogen and James Franco, and while both actors have denounced the actions of the hackers, they’ve also expressed their belief that the impact of the attacks will be minimal.  North Korea has denied responsibility, but offered praise for those responsible for the hacks. 9 Things We Learned From the Sony Hacking Scandal 1. Kathie Lee Gifford: Bill Cosby Tried to Kiss Me!

Television personality Kathie Lee Gifford is the latest to add her name to the long list of women who have accused Bill Cosby of sexual misconduct. The Today host opened up this morning about a strange encounter with Cosby that took place while she was the opener for his stand-up act in the late 70s: “I will admit, toward the very, very end of the last time I saw him, he did try to kiss me,” Gifford revealed on her show. “I said, ‘Bill, no, we’re friends,’ and he said, ‘OK, goodnight.'” Gifford stated that she never witnessed any forceful or violent behavior from Cosby, but she stated that one portion of Beverly Johnson’s essay about her encounter with Cosby  matched her own experience with the legendary comic: “Every night we’d come off stage and Bill would be going on stage, and he would have made cappuccinos for all three of us,” Gifford said.  “And I always thought it was such a kindness and so sweet and now you see Beverly Johnson saying he made her a cappuccino.” Johnson stated in her essay that Cosby drugged her beverage as part of an attempt to rape her. At the time of the alleged encounter with Gifford, Cosby had already been married for over a decade. Camille Cosby defended her husband in a statement released on Monday. Also on Monday, an unidentified woman came forward and claimed that Cosby drugged her and licked her toes at the Playboy Mansion in 2008. Kathie Lee Gifford to Parents of Drug Addicts: You’re FAILURES!

Kathie Lee Gifford is facing some heavy criticism from fans after strongly implying to Family Circle magazine that parents of drug addicts are failures. The quote in question, from her recent interview: “I’m not a perfect mom, but my kids haven’t been arrested, in rehab or kicked out of school, so I must be doing something right!” Her implication, intentionally are not, is that the parents of kids who have been arrested, in rehab or kicked out of school are not doing it right. Many of Kathie Lee Gifford’s fans are, predictably, far from pleased and telling her off as a result, posting blistering rebukes on her Facebook page. “Well Kathy, here is a pic of my little brother who we lost at the age of 33 yrs old due to a DISEASE called DRUG ADDICTION,” wrote one fan. “I find it funny we were both raised by the same woman called MOM … I am NOT an ADDICT and NEVER was … Poor parenting?? Gimme a break.” Another went right after the talk show host, saying: “Shame on you Kathie Lee Gifford, shame on you. You are a thoughtless human being.” “You know the first thing they teach in counseling for loved ones of addicts? The three C’s; you DIDN’T cause it, you CAN’T cure it, and you CAN’T control it.” “Poor parenting?? I’m glad you never had to face any of your babies drowning in a disease they could not be cured from.” And on and on and on. Kathie Lee – who also made news recently for asking Martin Short about his late wife – may not have meant to suggest this about all parents of troubled children, but she nonetheless did, and she’s hearing about it. To err is human, to forgive DIVINE!!! Martin Short gets major kudos for not being upset about Kathie Lee Gifford dragging him down a likely painful memory lane this week. Martin Short isn’t one to hold a grudge. The actor, 62, says he understands that Today show host Kathie Lee Gifford didn’t intend to offend during his Wednesday appearance on the show with her questions about his wife, Nancy Dolman–who passed away in 2010 from ovarian cancer. “You and Nancy have one of the greatest marriages of anybody in show business,” Gifford said. “How many years for you guys now?” “We . . . married 36 years,” Short replied. “But you’re still in love!” the host exclaimed. “Madly in love,” he answered. “Madly in love.” During a commercial break, Gifford learned of her cringe-worthy gaffe and apologized on-air. “Martin just told me as he was leaving, he said, ‘Kathie, you probably didn’t know,’ but his beautiful, precious wife Nancy did pass away a year and a half ago . . . I feel so badly,” the remorseful Gifford told viewers. On Thursday, Short spoke to E! News about the awkward exchange–and made it clear he doesn’t hold it against Gifford. “I think that it’s live television and people make mistakes and there’s no ill will intended,” the Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted star shared. “And I think it’s nice to aspire to be that way.” At least he’s understanding about it. Arizona Girl Given Fake Award For Best Homework Excuses; Mom Says Teacher "Humiliated" Her

The mother of an 8-year-old girl presented with a “Catastrophe Award” for the best/most excuses for not doing homework believes her child was humiliated by her teacher. Christina Valdez said her daughter, Cassandra Garcia, came home one day from class at Desert Springs Academy in Tucson, Ariz., with the paper award. The document, which looks like a colorful card, says: “You’re Tops! Catastrophe Award . Awarded to Cassandra Garcia. For Most Excuses for Not Having Homework!” The teacher signed and dated the card, which included a smiley face. Eight-Year-Old Wins ‘Catastrophe Award’ The teacher announced the award in front of Garcia’s entire third grade class, while other students laughed at her daughter, Valdez told KGUN-TV in Tucson. When she called to complain, the principal “blew me off,” Valdez added. “She said it was a joke that was played and that the teachers joke around with the children.” Valdez told KGUN that she didn’t find any of it funny. “I think it’s cruel and no child should be given an award like this. It’s disturbing,” she said, adding that she was unaware of any problem with homework.
