Tristan Walker Talks About His Startup Walker And Co, Hiring Diverse Talent And Creating Products For Minorities It’s no secret that Silicon Valley is a very white/male dominated environment , but we wanted to make sure you know about Tristan Walker, he’s one of the rising stars to come out of the tech industry and last year he launched his startup Walker and Company, which is introducing a very unique line of personal care products designed for the severely underserved African-American and minority consumer market. We love what they’re doing with their first product – Bevel (men who get razor bumps will understand how important this product is!) we also have to give Walker props for hiring great talent, many who also happen to be women and men of color. Diddy, Notrious B.I.G. and The Lox – “All About The Benjamins” As Kimberly Jones so eloquently articulates, “Only female in my crew and I kick sh*t.” Need we say more? Foxy Brown feat. The Firm – “Affirmative Action” Probably one of the most classic verses in all of hip hop, Foxy definitively held her own against Nas, AZ and Cormega. Now if we can only get a new album by them. Nicki Minaj feat. Kanye West, Jay Z and Rick Ross – “Monster” Nicki has always had a lot to prove, whether it being compared to another female MC featured in this Boombox, the only female rapper in her very male dominated group or just more than a big butt and a smile but we honestly can say she proved a lot with this feature against hip hop’s biggest heavy weights. Shawnna feat. 8Ball & MJG – “Candy Coated” Former member of Ludacris’ group DTP, Shawnna brought the heat on this track featuring the legendary 8Ball & MJG. She is a beast. The end.
