Random Ridiculousness: Father Of Five Who Was Legally Pronounced Dead Reappears Alive And Well As Gay Man

This takes deadbeat daddy to a whole new level. Father Of Five Reappears As Gay Man According to Mail Online A married father-of-five who went missing 16 years ago and was legally pronounced dead has reappeared alive and well having started a new life for himself as a gay man. In a report broadcast on ABC’s 20/20, the man, Eric Myers, is described as having lived the American dream. The Arizona man married his high school sweetheart Anne, and they started a life having two daughters, Kirtsen and Erin, and adopting three boys from Vietnam. Things seemed to be going well for Myers, who was working for his father’s booming property business. But according to one of his friends, Myers complained about being in debt. Added to that stress was the fact that his marriage was on the rocks. Anne wanted to go to college, and that didn’t fit into deeply religious Myer’s idea of the ideal Christian housewife. Though he tried to find reasons in the bible to keep her from pursuing her education goals, he couldn’t find a valid excuse and felt trapped. They talked about divorce, but Myers wanted to do the Christian thing and stay married. Soon after, Myers attended a real estate seminar in San Diego and never came back. At first authorities suspected foul play, but they couldn’t find any evidence of a crime. Myers had completely vanished. They did find that he checked out of his hotel the first day of the conference, but kept going to the meetings. No one knew where he was or where he went. According to Myers, he was robbed the last day of the conference, so he spent the night in a seedy motel with only a few hundred dollars in his pocket. Myers said he was dealing with the stress of keeping a long-hidden secret: the fact that he was attracted to other men. Kirsten doesn’t believe that her father’s sexual orientation is an excuse for his disappearance. ‘I know a lot of people who would never do this…absolutely never blame it on their homosexuality. I don’t believe that he is capable of love.’ If he wanted to be gay, he should have admitted that and got a divorce. It is selfish to leave your daughter without a father because you’re in debt and like men. SMH. Lungmyers.com Continue reading

Heavy D Was ‘In Great Shape,’ His Brother Says

‘He constantly made sure that his health was in check,’ Floyd Myers tells MTV News after public memorial. By Rob Markman Heavy D Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images Heavy D will be missed, and fans aren’t the only ones searching for answers about his sudden death . On Thursday (November 17), MTV News visited the Mount Vernon, New York, home of Heavy D’s family, who are still grieving over the passing of their beloved Dwight Myers. “Heavy was in great shape,” Floyd Myers, the fallen rapper’s brother and business partner, told MTV News. “You guys seen him at the BET Awards, and he just did the tribute to Michael Jackson; they flew him out to London to do that. Heav was in good shape, healthy, no heart problems. He constantly made sure that his health was in check.” The initial autopsy report came back inconclusive, but Myers said he spoke to his hitmaking brother the day before he died, and as far as he could tell, there were no signs that he was ill. On records and onscreen, Heavy D promoted love and positivity. Myers assured that his brother was the same way even when the cameras weren’t on him. “He loved family, and that’s who he was, but it wasn’t too much different from how he treated his friends and his fans,” he said. “He showed everybody love and affection, and we’re gonna miss that.” On Thursday, fans gathered at Grace Baptist Church in Mount Vernon for a public viewing and a chance to say goodbye to the Overweight Lover before his private funeral on Friday. The public support has been remarkable, and Myers admitted that he didn’t know Heavy had impacted so many people. “I didn’t realize how he built his legacy and how it stands today because of the things that he has done and has not done over the years,” Myers said of his brother’s dedication to only partake in the positive business ventures. “There was just certain things that Heav just wouldn’t do, and we used to riff at him. We used to be like, ‘Yo, that’s a lot of money you turning down,’ but it wasn’t the right thing to do. Maybe if he would’ve did those things, his legacy would have not been sealed the way it is today.” Despite their current grief, the tremendous amount of support from fans and friends like Sean “Diddy” Combs, Andre Harrell, Russell Simmons and producer Eddie F. have helped alleviate some of the Myers family’s pain. “Besides the famous guys, it’s the regular dudes on the street that’s just throwing out love to my family. It’s taken the sting out a little bit,” Myers said. In support of Heavy D’s daughter Xia Myers, the family has set up the Heavy D and Xia Myers Fund. Mike Myers ‘Interested’ In ‘Austin Powers’ Sequel

Reports that Myers had signed a deal for the follow-up to ‘Goldmember’ are contradicted by Deadline New York. By Terri Schwartz Mike Myers Photo: Lee Celano/AFP Oh behave, “Austin Powers” fans, because a sequel might not be in the works just yet. News broke over the weekend that Mike Myers was “signed, sealed, delivered” for “Austin Powers 4,” the long-awaited follow-up to 2002’s “Goldmember.” HitFix confirmed that Myers had signed a deal to return to the franchise, but now Deadline New York is reporting otherwise. The entertainment website is saying that, despite Myers’ interest in the project, no deal has been signed yet. Apparently all that’s happened is that Myers has expressed interest in a proposal for the movie that New Line presented six months ago, and it’s not a full-blown deal. The project had seemingly fallen by the wayside after Myers’ 2008 flick “The Love Guru” tanked at the box office, and he disappeared from Hollywood (barring a brief appearance in “Inglourious Basterds”). But New Line sought to revitalize the project recently and sent out a new offer about six months ago. Deadline is reporting that Myers’ representatives have finally responded that Myers is interested. There’s no word yet on whether Myers’ writing partner Michael McCullers will be back for the fourth installment. “Austin Powers” director Jay Roach also has not been announced for the upcoming flick. In fact, there’s no confirmation that a script has even been written, though New Line commissioned one in 2008 and Myers has frequently said that it’s a work in progress. But this news definitely seems to inspire hope that an “Austin Powers 4” deal is on its way at some point soon. The last MTV News heard about the project was at the 2010 Tribeca Film Festival . Only a month earlier, Roach told MTV News that Myers was working on ideas for the script, though it wasn’t completed yet. Myers later echoed that while promoting “Shrek Forever After” at Tribeca. “Things are on track. It’s hard to keep a Stanley Cup team together and I’m very happy how insanely well it’s gone. Then it gets hard to get everybody all together. It’s chugging along,” Myers said. “I’d be very happy to do it in 7-D. I can’t tell you exactly how it works. Actually, I left the plans for it in a bar and somebody saw it. But it’s very exciting.” No word on “7-D” in either the Deadline or the HitFix reports, but fans of the franchise can rest easy knowing that it seems like an “Austin Powers 4” will likely hit theaters over the next few years.
