Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Cover Is ‘Polarizing,’ Perez Hilton Says

‘She loves that people are talking about it,’ gossip blogger tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Perez Hilton and Lady Gaga Photo: Michael Caulfield/ Getty Images When Lady Gaga tweeted the Born This Way album art over the weekend, fans were a bit surprised by the cover photo, which features Gaga as a motorcycle/human hybrid. Was it a joke? Was it for real? Well, it was for real, and even days later, everyone’s still talking. “They were definitely divisive and it was a polarizing image,” Gaga’s pal Perez Hilton told MTV News. “I knew it would really get a reaction out of people, and that was her intent. She could have easily gone for something expected, but that’s the beautiful thing about Gaga.” The gossip blogger said the Nick Knight image’s intention was to get people buzzing, whether or not that buzz ended up in the Mother Monster’s favor. He even offered some insight into the photo’s message, which has been lost on some of Gaga’s Little Monsters. “She always wants to keep people guessing, and I think the cover works on many different levels,” he explained. “Literally, she was born that way, [like] some kind of mutant freak. There’s a lot of energy in that picture.” He adds that the vibe captured in the image will also find its way into the music on the May 23 album release. “There’s something very metal [about it and] ‘Judas’ [which was released last week] gives a taste of that dance/metal feeling,” he said. “Once the album comes out and they listen to the music, the artwork will make more sense. She loves that people are talking about it.” What do you think of the album cover? Let us know in the comments! Related Artists Lady Gaga

Christina Aguilera’s Bionic Will Settle Gaga Debate, Songwriter Says

‘Once the album comes out … I don’t think the comparisons will last,’ says Claude Kelly. By Jocelyn Vena Christina Aguilera’s Bionic Photo: RCA Fans have already gotten a pretty good taste of what they can expect from Christina Aguilera ‘s upcoming album, Bionic, out June 8. In addition to the singles “Woohoo” and “Not Myself Tonight,” other tracks from the disc have leaked online. Despite rumors that worries about the album’s success are what prompted Aguilera to postpone her summer tour to 2011, songwriter Claude Kelly said it will be the album of the summer. “I’m excited about Christina,” Kelly told MTV News at the “Sex and the City 2” premiere, where he also dished about working with Leona Lewis and Jennifer Hudson on their track for the flick. Kelly said that he enjoyed hitting the studio with Aguilera to cook up some choice tunes for the release. “I did ‘Woohoo,’ which is the single out now,” he shared about the track that also features Nicki Minaj. “I did ‘Glam, which is kind of like futuristic, kind of an homage to ‘Vogue’ by Madonna. [I did] a song called ‘Vanity.’ [I did one called] ‘I Hate Boys.’ She has a fun record coming out.” Aguilera’s look during TV appearances and videos of late has led some Lady Gaga fans to accuse Christina of biting Gaga’s style . Kelly said the two pop queens couldn’t be more different. “I will say that there’s room for everybody,” he said. “I also know Gaga as well. She’s incredible. They really are honestly two different powerhouses. Once the album comes out and they hear what Christina’s doing, I don’t think the comparisons will last. But, I mean, at the end of the day, they’re both amazing women.” Are you looking forward to Christina’s new album? Tell us in the comments! B.o.B’s ‘Airplanes, Part 2,’ Featuring Eminem And Hayley Williams, Hits The Net

‘Since the album is leaking, I want this one to come from ME,’ B.o.B tweets about posting song. By Steven Roberts B.o.B Photo: MTV News There’s been much hype surrounding B.o.B’s debut album, B.o.B Presents: The Adventures of Bobby Ray, which is slated to drop April 27. The album’s lead single and surprise hit, “Nothin’ on You,” featuring Bruno Mars, currently sits at #1 on iTunes’ songs chart . But once the album’s track listing was released, anticipation began to grow even more, thanks in large part to the Eminem feature on “Airplanes Part II.” B.o.B decided to unleash the track Monday afternoon (April 19) via his website , and it lives up expectations. The song features Em spitting another song-stealing verse, rapping hypothetically about what could have been failed opportunities. “Let’s pretend Marshal Mathers never picked up a pen/ Let’s pretend things would’ve been no different/ Pretend he procrastinated, had no motivation, pretend he just made excuses that were so paper thin.” Em continues, listing off scenes from his now-famous narrative of a tortured childhood and his tumultuous relationship with his mother. “Now pretend they ain’t just make him angry with this sh–/ And there was no one he could even aim [at] when he’s pissed at/ And his alarm went off to wake him, but he didn’t make it to the Rap Olympics/ Slept through his plane and he missed/ He’s going to have a hard time explaining to Hailey and Laney this food stamps and this WIC sh–/ Because he never risked sh–/ He hoped and he wished it.” The retrospective track also features Paramore’s Hayley Williams on the hook , who was as surprised as anyone by the Eminem collaboration. “I only found out about Eminem getting on the track like a month ago,” she told MTV News. “As if the song couldn’t get any better. He just slays me, he’s such a genius.” B.o.B told MTV News last week that it was a gift to work with one of his heroes. He said Em’s manager Paul Rosenberg grabbed Slim Shady’s attention with B.o.B’s first mixtape, Cloud 9, and he kept Em abreast of B.o.B’s work. He tweeted Monday that he wanted to share the song first, since his album was leaking. “Since the album is leaking … I want this one to come from ME. Hear ‘Airplanes Pt. 2’ ft. EMINEM & Hayley Williams of Paramore.” Related Artists Eminem Paramore B.o.B
