Late last month, we posted adorable photos of parents and their baby recreating a number of famous movie scene, from Jurassic Park to Indiana Jones and many in between. Now, a man and his dog have gone ahead and done the same thing. The results are both hilarious and a tad disturbing, starting with this reenactment of the Dirty Dancing lift: Then there’s this scene from Brokeback Mountain: There’s also this romantic Sixteen Candles moment: And this VERY romantic Top Gun scene: The owner and his pet also made like Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams in The Notebook: And like Peter Parker and Mary Jane in Spider-Man: Finally, this dog is the King of the World. Does there come a point in reenacting exploitation, humiliation, and sexual degradation where the reenactment essentially becomes real life for the performer forced to endure it? It’s a tough question about whether in its making, art can perpetuate or exploit the very moment it purports to condemn, and I guess we’ll have to ask Lindsay Lohan about it after she tries to get a dog to have sex with her in her new film, Inferno.
