Nick Cannon Dresses Up As White Man To Market Album Nick Cannon has some folks out of sorts after posting up photos of himself on Instagram dressed up as a white hipster. Apparently his hashtags didn’t go over too well either. Do you think the stereotypical hashtags make the costume more, or less offensive? Ready to meet Connor Smallnut? To promote the upcoming album “White People Party Music,” Nick Cannon took to Instagram last night and posted as a character by this name. A white character by this name, we should say, joking to a follower on Twitter that it feels “great” to be this color because “I’m no longer afraid of the Police!! LOL.” However, after Vanity Fair Tweeted that Cannon’s stunt is “cringe” worthy, the America’s Got Talent host shot back: “Don’t get your fancy panties in a bunch! It’s funny how people take themselves so seriously. People love drama! We feed off of it. Just relax and have fun!!” Cannon then posted a picture of Robert Downey Jr. in black face in Tropic Thunder and wrote as a caption: “This is one of my favorite characters of all time! Hilarious!!! There is a big difference between Humor and Hatred.” True. But remember when Julianne Hough went blackface for Halloween? She faced a torrent of criticism. Shailene Woodley of The Secret Life of the American Teenager and Divergent fame is showing fans a new side of herself in the new issue of Interview . A self-proclaimed environmentalist with a high regard for herbalism, the actress discusses her lifestyle with Emma Stone, while posing provocatively: “I was on a quest to find out what healthy really meant … so I started researching indigenous people and what their lifestyles were like,” she reveals. “I was fascinated by the fact that they could still run in their eighties and still had amazing muscular and nervous systems,” Woodley, 21, adds. “Whereas in America now, by the time we get to our 30s, it’s really hard for us to lose weight and maintain a healthy body and composition.” Woodley’s appreciation for organic recipes and living an indigenous lifestyle began at 15, when shooting The Descendants alongside George Clooney: “It was at the very beginning of my young adult life, and I think just being connected to nature in that way really reminded me of what life is about.” Now, she continues to live a clean lifestyle while shooting Divergent in Chicago, but still finds the need to make slight adjustments to fit city living. “I’ve never where I have to be careful about walking around naked because the business office next door will be able to see me at 7 a.m.,” she says. “But I still have my crock pot of chaga mushroom tea brewing all the time.” Fortunately for those neighbors, they can just pick up the new Interview . Although Woodley was cut from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 , she doesn’t sway from revealing specifics about herself with interviewer Stone. “I dream so many dreams!” she says. “I’ve actually found some herbs that will induce lucid dreaming or will help with other types of dreaming.” The actress reassures Stone that the herbs are “not mushrooms!” She’s been acting since age five, but feels she’s just begun. “I want to do a role that I’ve never done before,” she says. “I’ve never been a really funny girl, so I think I would like to do a quirky dark comedy.”
This year’s ” Highest Paid Actors ” list has been released by Forbes and given the monster year Tony Stark had, it’s no surprise that Robert Downey Jr. tops them all. Banking an impressive $75 million is apparently not all that hard to do when your movie rockets to #3 of the highest grossing movies of all time, like The Avengers did. Now that he’s signed on for more Iron Man and Avengers 2 , it won’t be surprising if Robert Downey Jr. makes numerous repeat appearances on this list in the coming years. However, this list teaches us that if you are going to make a movie about being a male stripper, go ahead and do so with a lot of your own money. Channing Tatum came in second to RDJ thanks to Magic Mike (just wait for the Magic Mike sequel ) and the fact he and director Steven Soderbergh bankrolled the film on their own. It’s always refreshing when the abs have brains. Rounding out the list were a few surprises, like Mark Wahlberg coming in at number four with $52 million thanks to Ted and Adam Sandler at number six with $37 million, no thanks to Jack and Jill. Bringing up the rear comes Liam Neeson in the tenth spot with $32 million. Just goes to show, want to bank a fortune? Play a man chasing after his kidnapped family member or some variation on that theme, over and over.
Only a handful of movies have ever made $1 billion. Shockingly, Miley Cyrus is not in any of them (The Best Of Both Worlds Concert Tour .only made $70 million???). Well, the club just got one member fuller, as Iron Man 3 has passed the $1 billion mark worldwide. Shane Black directs the third film in the superhero series, with Robert Downey, Jr. making what may be his final Iron Man film. Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Guy Pearce, Ben Kingsley, Rebecca Hall, James Badge Dale, Stephanie Szostak, Jon Favreau, and Ty Simpkins also star. Iron Man 3 has only been in American theaters for two weeks, topping the box office the entire time. With the premiere of Star Trek Into Darkness, however, the Marvel film may just drop down the rankings. Read our Iron Man 3 review to see why we think it deserves all the success its seeing.
