A post shared by Marvel Entertainment (@marvel) on Jul 20, 2019 at 6:43pm PDT Ali made an appearance at the end of the panel to reveal the news that he will be taking the sword from Wesley Snipes, who previously played the Marvel Comics character in three films from 1998 to 2004 and made the film a cult-classic. Ali has been part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe before: as the villainous Cornell Stokes, a.k.a. During a set visit for Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster Captain Marvel , last year, Sam Jackson revealed his era of choice was the 60s and shared his thoughts on today’s music. “Revolutionary things were changing things and everything was happening – sex, drugs, cheap thrills,” he explained during a candid convo. “Then the 70s, I went to New York and did the theater thing, which was a great creative awesome time.” MUST READ: ‘Captain Marvel’ Is A Woman And She’s Here To Save The Universe Source: Marvel Studios / Marvel Studios Captain Marvel is set in the 90s, which means we get to see Mr. Jackson’s Marvel character Nick Fury in his youth…and sans the eye patch. While reflecting on the golden era, Sam revealed, “By the time the 90s happened I was in Hollywood. A different kind of work ethic moving through it. Usually your ball-out times are the times you feel like there’s music you can relate to. When I Iisten to a commercial now, I’m like wow they’re using James Brown in a commercial, never thought that would happen.” He continued, “When you listen now and go, which one of these songs are they going to be playing 20 years from now? Will they be playing Drake in 20 years? Fetty Wap? We were trying to figure out yesterday, who’s the great solo artist now that? I’m talking about soul. We were listening to Stevie Wonder yesterday and going through this marvelous song clip that Stevie’s had for 30 years. Who’s that 30-year person for this generation.” When the reporters in the room suggested, “Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars?” He responded, “Bruno Mars is the Frankie Beverly of the millennials. He’s millennial cookout music.” So who is Sam Jackson listening to? “I listen to hip-hop.” Rae Sremmurd. Reggae. I’m waiting on Buju to get out.” [This interview is from 2018] Catch Captain Marvel in theaters March 8. RELATED STORIES: Watch: Samuel L. I sincerely apologize to the LGBTQ community for my insensitive words from my past,” Hart wrote. He added seconds later, “I’m sorry the I hurt people. I am evolving and want to continue to do so. My goal is to bring people together not tear us apart. Much love & appreciation to the Academy. I hope we can meet again.” I have made the choice to step down from hosting this year's Oscar's….this is because I do not want to be a distraction on a night that should be celebrated by so many amazing talented artists. I hope we can meet again. — Kevin Hart (@KevinHart4real) December 7, 2018 Earlier on Thursday, Hart said he received a call from the Academy giving him an ultimatum: Apologize for his old tweets or step down as Oscars host. “I chose to pass, I passed on the apology. The reason why I passed is because I’ve addressed this several times. This is not the first time this has come up. I’ve addressed it, I’ve spoken on it. I’ve said where the rights and wrongs were. I’ve said who I am now versus who I was then,” he said. “I’ve done it, I’ve done it. I’m not going to continue to go back and tap into the days of old. I’ve moved on, I’m in a completely different space in my life. The same energy that went into finding those old tweets, could be the same energy put into finding the response to the questions that have been asked years after years after years. “We feed internet trolls and reward them. I’m not going to do it, man. I’m going to be me, and I’m going to stand my ground,” Hart added. “Regardless, to the Academy, I’m thankful and appreciative of the opportunity. If it goes away, no harm, no foul.”

Stan Lee, arguably the best known comic book creator of all-time, passed away Monday morning at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. He was 95 years old. Lee’s daughter confirmed this very sad piece of news to TMZ. The website writes that Lee was rushed from his home in Hollywood Hills to the aforementioned facility, although it’s unclear at this time what medical condition prompted the emergency. The legendary writer, however, had suffered numerous illnesses over the last year or so, including a semi-recent bout of pneumonia and a number of vision issues. He had receded from the public eye for most of 2018 as a result. Lee started out in the comic business back in 1939. Along with Jack Kirby, he co-founded Marvel in 1961 via the introduction of The Fantastic Four. He went on to create Spider-Man, Black Panther, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, Iron Man and The Avengers, among many other notable, memorable and beloved characters. Lee was always revered in the comic book universe, but he became a true pop culture icon about a decade ago after the success of the first Iron Man movie. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has basically taken over the movie world in that time and Lee has made a cameo in every Marvel film to date. In 2009, the Walt Disney Co. bought Marvel Entertainment for $4 billion. Three years later, The Avengers grossed $1.52 billion worldwide take and two years after that, Lee acknowledged his important role not just in the entertainment industry — but in the world as a whole. “I used to think what I did was not very important,” he told the Chicago Tribune in April of 2014, adding at the time: “People are building bridges and engaging in medical research, and here I was doing stories about fictional people who do extraordinary, crazy things and wear costumes. “But I suppose I have come to realize that entertainment is not easily dismissed.” A native of Manhattan, Lee wrote, art-directed and edited most of Marvel’s series and newspaper strips. He also wrote a monthly comics’ column, “Stan’s Soapbox,” signing off with his signature phrase, “Excelsior!” Lee played a vital role as Marvel transitioned into TV during the 1980s, serving as narrator on animated series like Incredible Hulk and X-Men: Pryde of the X-Men, and executive producing the 1990s animated series Spider-Man. In 2002, Lee published an autobiography, Excelsior! The Amazing Life of Stan Lee . Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse will be the next installment of the Marvel film franchise and will be released next month; it’s very safe to assume there will be a dedication to Lee in the credits. The writer’s survivors include a daughter, J.C., and younger brother, Larry Lieber, who works as a writer and artist for Marvel. Another daughter, Jan, died in infancy. Lee’s wife, Joan, was a hat model whom he married in 1947. She passed away last year. Said J.C. to TMZ shortly after confirming her dad’s death: “My father loved all of his fans. He was the greatest, most decent man.” May he rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2018: In Memoriam

So much so that his inclusion to the highly anticipated The Defenders and his important to the overall plot ruined the superhero team-up for many fans. Yeah his appearance in the second season of Luke Cage was cool but it wasn’t enough to erase the damage already done in the minds of Marvel fans. But if you thought your online outrage would be enough to convince Marvel and Netflix to pull the plug on the billionaire street vigilante, you’re wrong. Netflix has dropped their first teaser trailer for the second season to Marvel’s Iron Fist and hopefully they’ll get it right this time. Gone are the annoying curly locks of blond hair and in is the more standard rich Manhattanite white guy hairdo. While all we get to see is Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist (Finn Jones) take on some bad guys in an alley, according to io9 the Marvel panel at San Diego’s Comic Con showed some pretty great footage of the upcoming season. One scene, in particular, finds Danny and Davos in K’un-Lun (in a flashback) during one of their final tests to decide which of them is worthy of facing off against Shou-Lao. After donning masks reminiscent of Iron Fist’s from the comics, the two students are bound together with a long belt and made to beat the everliving hell out of each another until one of them yields. As brutal and bloody as the face-off is, it’s also fluid and elegant in a way that feels fresh, new, and exactly like what you want from Iron Fist. As for the overall theme of season two, Marvel’s Jeph Loeb explained the road that Danny Rand would be traveling. Marvel’s Jeph Loeb explained that fighting alongside Matt Murdock in The Defenders is ultimately what inspires Danny to use his Iron Fist abilities to become a proper street-level vigilante. Though the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen might not make an appearance in Iron Fist’s second season, his influence on Danny’s going to play a huge role is in the show’s plot. Sounds better than anything in season one already. The second season of Iron Fist will be streaming on Netflix starting September 7th. Will you be interested in giving Danny Rand a second chance or nah? Let us know.
