Source: Axelle/Bauer-Griffin / Getty You never quite know what to expect from the glorious Samuel L. Jackson , he is truly a national Black treasure. During a set visit for Marvel’s upcoming blockbuster Captain Marvel , last year, Sam Jackson revealed his era of choice was the 60s and shared his thoughts on today’s music. “Revolutionary things were changing things and everything was happening – sex, drugs, cheap thrills,” he explained during a candid convo. “Then the 70s, I went to New York and did the theater thing, which was a great creative awesome time.” MUST READ: ‘Captain Marvel’ Is A Woman And She’s Here To Save The Universe Source: Marvel Studios / Marvel Studios Captain Marvel is set in the 90s, which means we get to see Mr. Jackson’s Marvel character Nick Fury in his youth…and sans the eye patch. While reflecting on the golden era, Sam revealed, “By the time the 90s happened I was in Hollywood. A different kind of work ethic moving through it. Usually your ball-out times are the times you feel like there’s music you can relate to. When I Iisten to a commercial now, I’m like wow they’re using James Brown in a commercial, never thought that would happen.” He continued, “When you listen now and go, which one of these songs are they going to be playing 20 years from now? Will they be playing Drake in 20 years? Fetty Wap? We were trying to figure out yesterday, who’s the great solo artist now that? I’m talking about soul. We were listening to Stevie Wonder yesterday and going through this marvelous song clip that Stevie’s had for 30 years. Who’s that 30-year person for this generation.” When the reporters in the room suggested, “Jay Z, Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars?” He responded, “Bruno Mars is the Frankie Beverly of the millennials. He’s millennial cookout music.” So who is Sam Jackson listening to? “I listen to hip-hop.” Rae Sremmurd. Reggae. I’m waiting on Buju to get out.” [This interview is from 2018] Catch Captain Marvel in theaters March 8. RELATED STORIES: Watch: Samuel L. YesJulz Tried To Apologize For Her Racist Raps And Got Re-Dragged Back To Her Cave Of Dried Mayo

Source: Johnny Nunez / Getty YesJulz Apologizes Corny Colonizer in Couture YesJulz dropped a freestyle last week that sounded like she was reading the phone book backwards. Of course, the freestyle sounded like unseasoned urinal cakes but it also contained some racist a$$ bars about black people killing each other. Because why not, right? Well, she’s seen the outrage and wanted to clear up her name with a long a$$ explanation for her actions. I feel I owe this to a number of people. I am sorry for my carelessness. pic.twitter.com/dx5ECjEpi1 — Julz (@YesJulz) January 31, 2019 Twitter responded with a collective “TL:DR you still trash and it was gloriously hilarious.” pic.twitter.com/oRwVBkgWiV — maya (@maknoxxx) February 1, 2019 Peep the dragging that ensued and the comedy that erupted.

Black People to Alec Baldwin: Shut the Eff Up, Dude!

Alec Baldwin is taking some heat for saying something kind of dumb to The Hollywood Reporter. Okay, actually: Alec Baldwin is taking A LOT of heat for saying something VERY dumb to The Hollywood Reporter. The actor is featured on the latest cover of this publication, touching on nearly every topic of his personal and professional life in the feature story. But it’s one story he tells in particular, along with his reaction to that story, that has nearly all of Twitter rolling its collective eyes. At one point while speaking to Baldwin, writer Lacey Rose says that an African-American man named Tyrone approaches Baldwin and compliments him for his role of Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. Writes Rose of the encounter: “Though he’s waving and pointing and causing something of a scene, the often-irritable Baldwin doesn’t mind a bit. “In fact, he calls Tyrone over and the two begin cracking each other up. It’s hard to tell who’s enjoying the other more.” Baldwin says this sort of interaction happens “incessantly” these days, elaborating in annoying detail: I don’t know how to say this and I don’t want to get it wrong either, because everything is a minefield of bombs going off, but ever since I played Trump, black people love me. They love me. Everywhere I go, black people go crazy. I think it’s because they’re most afraid of Trump. I’m not going to paint every African-American person with the same brush, but a significant number of them are sitting there going, ‘This is going to be bad for black folks.'” Almost as soon after the article was published online Wednesday, Baldwin was met with major backlash on Twitter. He may not have wanted to paint every African-American with the same brush — but then maybe he should have tried not doing exactly that. Alec Baldwin needs to stop talking for black people , reads one tweet, while another agrees: When liberal white men get too comfortable

Nicki Minaj Beached Whale Topless of the Day

I think Nicki Minaj has her tit fully out in this weird mermaid photoshoot that I don’t fully understand because I was always taught that black people hated the water…not in a racist statement but in a generalized cultural observation I’ve heard over the years…which I guess is the definition of racism…but without cultural generalizations how do the social Justice warriors know what to yell at white people for culturally appropriating… It’s all too confusing, but what isn’t confusing is how bad I want to see a wave take this bitch out to sea…give her the proper viking funeral she deserves… I guess it’s appropriate for her to be in the surf…since she’s a fucking wave jacker and nothing about her is original…but where’s the fucking shark attack when you need it… The post Nicki Minaj Beached Whale Topless of the Day appeared first on DrunkenStepFather.com .

White High School Students Make Video Screaming “F**k Black People, White Supremacy, B*tch!” Over Drake And Kodak Black Music

Arkansas HS Students Suspended Over Racist Comments A couple of students from Fayetteville High Scholl in Arkansas thought it would be an AMAZING idea to blast some Kodak Black and Drake in their home, and then take to SnapChat and exclaim “F*ck Black People” and “White Supremacy, B*tch!” where all their friends could see. As folks whose brains are fully developed know, the internet is forever and SnapChats don’t always disappear into the ether the way you’d like them to. Hence why we have a (blurred) copy of the vid in question here: One of their friends’ mothers caught wind of what was going on, and shared it with the school and other parents. According to Metro UK , despite the fact that the incident occurred off-grounds, the school’s officials deemed it in violation of the code of conduct and suspended each of the kids for a week. The video, of course, coincided with the start of Black History Month . We’re assuming they thought it would be HILARIOUS, but of course, it backfired and they issued a weak apologies their mothers made them write: We were wrong, and we sincerely apologize for what we said and for the harm that was caused at Fayetteville High School and in our family. Riiiiiight. Getty Continue reading
