An honor bestowed on her by a bloated Tho, who decided it was time for a new ruler. During Comic Con this weekend, Tessa revealed, not only will Valkyrie appear in Thor: Love and Thunder , she will be looking for love in the same sex, making her Marvel’s first on-screen LGBTQ superhero. “As new king [of Asgard], she needs to find her queen. That will be the first order of business,” Tessa revealed during Marvel Studio’s Hall H panel at Comic-Con . Tessa’s bad a** character Valkyrie is originally bisexual in the comics so it only made sense to have her live-action portrayal match. Tessa confirmed she is bisexual in an earlier interview with NetAPorter.com. “I’m attracted to men and also to women,” she said. During the interview, a few of her comments were taken out of context and led to rumors she was dating Janelle Monae . They discuss the status of Toni’s relationship with Birdman. There was one instance where he felt her sisters were a little too much in their business. He tells Traci, “I’m not dating the whole family.” She responded but you are marrying into the family. After breakup rumors swirled, Toni said that Birdman is tossing around the idea of elopement. In other relationship news, we watch as Trina deals with the death of her ex-husband Gabe . She tearfully tells her sisters that she didn’t know that she’d never see him again. Traci says that while she didn’t understand everything about their relationship, she knew that Gabe was her best friend. Tamar tells Toni that she and Vince aren’t divorced yet. And in the meantime, she said she’s doing everything on her own, without Vince. Lastly, the sisters and Ms. Evelyn shared what she made of the insight Iyanla shared with them. Ms. Evelyn shared the strongest opinion in the trailer saying about the experience: “Part of it was okay. I think the other part was not okay. I didn’t want to do it the first time, remember. I don’t want to hear criticism. I don’t want to hear it. Along with classic horror movie chills, the layered story caused many discussions amongst viewers and it inspired some imaginative creatives. This should come as no surprise, considering the flick has already raked in $70 million across 3,741 North American locations, according to Variety. This makes Us have the largest weekend for an original horror movie, surpassing 2018’s A Quiet Place . It also has the biggest launch for an original R-rated movie, surpassing 2012’s Ted, and it has the second-best opening weekend of 2019 behind Captain Marvel, which took in $153 million. The movie’s director, Jordan Peele even had the nerve to trump his own record, considering his 2017 movie Get Out opened with $33 million compared to Us ‘ $70 mill. Along with money in the bank, the Internet can’t get enough of the folklore bought to life by Winston Duke, Evan Alex, Shadadi Wright Joseph and Lupita Nyong’o in an award-worthy performance. In addition to some hilarious Twitter reactions , creatives are taking the lead in promoting the movie with some fire posts. Dancer and Step Up: High Water star Kendra “K.O” Oyesanya (IG: @mizzk.o ) got things rolling in the dance world with an Us -inspired routine. This should come as no surprise since Oyesanya all but broke the Internet in 2018 with her viral Black Panther dance challenge . Some artist were already prepping for greatness as soon as the Us trailer hit back in December. The Instagram page @chocolatecitycomics challenged artists to create their best Us -ispired artwork using the hashtag #UsMovieArt, and certain pieces could win the chance to be featured in the marketing campaign and special movie page . Peele supported the art challenge in an open letter reading: “The fan art response to the Us trailer has been inspiring. I am in awe of the artists around the world who took time to create these amazing pieces. Many thanks to Chocolate City Comics (instagram.com/chocolatecitycomics) for their role in encouraging artists to contribute to the conversation.” The results of the campaign were both horrifying and brilliant. Ford Takes Over NCCU’s Homecoming Ford closed out its next-level F-150 Truck Tour at North Carolina Central University’s Homecoming in Durham, NC with a campus-rocking performance by rising superstar A-Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, fun-filled spin wheel and hula hoop challenges and a “Drive 4 Ur Community” initiative that raised $20 for every test drive to support the Tom Joyner Foundation. Before breezing from hit to hit to chart-topping hit, A-Boogie joined Ford’s Multicultural Communications Manager Dee Guerrero at an exclusive breakfast to honor NCCU student Jordan Thomas who makes a difference by going further on his campus through community service. The nationwide tour allowed attendees to support HBCUs by simply test-driving the latest lineup of F-150 pickups, including the XLT and Lariat. For each test drive, Ford donated up to $6,000 to the Tom Joyner Foundation to support the dreams and goals of HBCU students. This tour was another big and bold reminder of Ford Motor Company’s longtime commitment to Historically Black Colleges and Universities. (Photos via Getty Images) Black Panther And Tupac Come Together For New Merch Collection Well this is an….interesting combination. 2Pac’s estate and Marvel Comics have come together to launch a new Black Panther collaboration collection, available exclusively via POP by Foot Locker. “The intersection of music and Black Panther is such a vital part of that property, so it is fantastic to co-brand with an influential artist like 2Pac on a new collection of Marvel apparel,” Paul Gitter, SVP of Marvel Licensing, told the people over at Complex . The nine-piece collection just launched on Friday (November 9) and includes everything from hoodies, to tees, to long sleeves emblazoned with iconic imagery from both brands meshed into one. Prices on these items range from $25 for tees to $50 for hoodies. More information about the collection can and each individual item can be found here . Phrases on the clothing include different mashups like “Wakanda Forever…Until the end of time.” The retailer posted a few photos to their Instagram page of the pieces, which you can take a look at below. So much so that his inclusion to the highly anticipated The Defenders and his important to the overall plot ruined the superhero team-up for many fans. Yeah his appearance in the second season of Luke Cage was cool but it wasn’t enough to erase the damage already done in the minds of Marvel fans. But if you thought your online outrage would be enough to convince Marvel and Netflix to pull the plug on the billionaire street vigilante, you’re wrong. Netflix has dropped their first teaser trailer for the second season to Marvel’s Iron Fist and hopefully they’ll get it right this time. Gone are the annoying curly locks of blond hair and in is the more standard rich Manhattanite white guy hairdo. While all we get to see is Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist (Finn Jones) take on some bad guys in an alley, according to io9 the Marvel panel at San Diego’s Comic Con showed some pretty great footage of the upcoming season. One scene, in particular, finds Danny and Davos in K’un-Lun (in a flashback) during one of their final tests to decide which of them is worthy of facing off against Shou-Lao. After donning masks reminiscent of Iron Fist’s from the comics, the two students are bound together with a long belt and made to beat the everliving hell out of each another until one of them yields. As brutal and bloody as the face-off is, it’s also fluid and elegant in a way that feels fresh, new, and exactly like what you want from Iron Fist. As for the overall theme of season two, Marvel’s Jeph Loeb explained the road that Danny Rand would be traveling. Marvel’s Jeph Loeb explained that fighting alongside Matt Murdock in The Defenders is ultimately what inspires Danny to use his Iron Fist abilities to become a proper street-level vigilante. Though the Devil of Hell’s Kitchen might not make an appearance in Iron Fist’s second season, his influence on Danny’s going to play a huge role is in the show’s plot. Sounds better than anything in season one already. The second season of Iron Fist will be streaming on Netflix starting September 7th. I have watched at least every episode of Riverdale, because I’m a weirdo into those teen dramas that are the fucking worst…. This show is so unlikeable, a disgrace to the comics we all grew up on, instead of wholesome small town with 1950s values….. It is terribly written, the characters unlikeable, there’s no comedy…the girls aren’t hot at all…but this one is the fucking worst…with her thick, no neck, who speaks to being an inclusive cast….playing the hispanic who is terrible at being hispanic..but that now probably has a huge ego thanks to the success of the show… This is her clickbait…
