The X-Files debuted its first new episode at New York Comic Con. We have all the details from the screening and panel with series creator Chris Carter and series star David Duchovny.
When we last left The Following on Fox, Ryan Hardy and his ex-wife had both been stabbed. But while viewers were rather confident Kevin Bacon would return in the former role, many wondered whether Natalie Zea had cried her last tear as Claire Matthews. The actress has now confirmed, however, that she WILL return as the troubled mother of young Joey… although initial plans called for producers to kill Claire off. “My concern, and [series creator] Kevin Williamson’s concern, was always, is there more story to tell with Claire?” Zea told TV Guide Magazine. Fox executives have apparently convinced the pair that there is because they thought fans would turn on the show for killing off its heroine. It’s unclear just what role Claire will play on The Following Season 2 , though, which kicks off in early 2014. But Zea has an idea. “She might have to break bad a little bit,” the beautiful actress says . “Although I don’t know if anyone besides me would want that.”
One was a sure thing, the other is a relative unknown in the States. But both will soon be taking up time on your TV screen, as Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones have been named co-hosts of The X-Factor . “These two are going to be great together,” series creator Simon Cowell said of the choices. “I have always wanted Steve to work with us; I think he is a real star. Nicole is fantastic. I loved working with her on the U.K. X Factor last year. She is gorgeous and super-talented.” Scherzinger has been rumored as a host for weeks, while Jones’ selection comes as a bit of a surprise. Corbin Bleu had been considered the favorite to appear alongside the former Pussycat Doll. The X-Factor kicked off auditions this weekend and will air on Fox in September. [Photos: Fame, WENN.com]
Elton John recently referred to Kings of Leon as “assholes” and told them to ” chill out ” over their refusal to allow Glee to cover their single “Use Somebody” on an episode. But series creator Ryan Murphy no longer has such harsh words for the band. A few months after the producer and drummer Nathan Followill got really personal (the latter made a few digs at Murphy’s sexuality), Murphy has released the following statement: I support artists and what they choose to do… I think Kings of Leon are cool as shit. The Foo Fighters are brilliant. We’d love to do one [of] their songs, if they were ever interested. But if it’s not their thing, then OK. I personally wish them luck, will still listen to their music. I’m really proud of the fact that we can introduce songs to younger kids or their parents because I’m the biggest music fan. The show is about the love of performing and arts education – things I think are very special. Case closed, we guess. Glee returns with a new episode on April 19.
Britney Spears is booked for an appearance on Glee . Might Justin Bieber follow in her (kinda trashy) footsteps? In an interview with Access Hollywood this week, series creator Ryan Murphy was asked if he’d entertain the idea of Bieber on his Fox hit? The enthusiastic reply , according to TV Fanatic: “I think he’s so phenomenally talented and I think he’s great. So, yes, if he was interested I would make that happen… the [cast sings] his stuff all day long. They sing ‘Baby.'” In just its first season, Glee showcased big-name guest stars such as Kristin Chenoweth, Neil Patrick Harris, Idina Menzel and Molly Shannon. John Stamos and Carol Burnett have already signed on for season two appearances. Do you think Bieber, who will make his TV debut on CSI this fall, is right for the show? Should he take Murphy up on the offer?
“I haven’t been nauseous at all, so far — I hate to jinx it,” she told Moms Babies at Sunday’s Pregnancy Awareness Month kickoff event. “I feel pretty normal except I can feel something moving inside of me.” Six months into her “easy” pregnancy, Kaitlin Olson is crossing her fingers that the luck lasts through to her August due date. The Always Sunny in Philadelphia star and her husband, series creator Rob McElhenney, recently discovered that they’re expecting a boy — and the couple is thril
