Jesus take the wheel… Ariana Grande Changed Religions After Her Brother Revealed His Sexuality Via PageSix : Ariana Grande abandoned Catholicism and began practicing Kabbalah because of the church’s views on homosexuality. “When my brother [Frankie J. Grande] was told that God didn’t love him I was like, ‘OK, that’s not cool,’” she said in an interview with Sunday Telegraph magazine (via The Daily Mail). “They were building a Kabbalah center in Florida so we both checked it out and really had a connection with it.” Since practicing Kabbalah, Grande says her life has changed for the better. “Since then, my life has unfolded in a really beautiful way, and I think that it has a lot to do with the tools I’ve learned through Kabbalah, I really do,” she added. When asked to share specific teachings, Grande said, “You have to watch your intentions, make sure you’re not giving in to your ego. You have to numb your reactive state. You have the power to change your reality.” Grande said in a 2013 interview with the UK’s Metro that she lost faith in the Catholic Church after the pope said everything she loved was wrong. “[The church] said Spongebob Squarepants is gay and he’s a sinner and he should burn in hell,” she recalled. “And Harry Potter was a sin. And working women. I was like, ‘Enough! First the gays, then Spongebob and now Harry Potter? Get out of my house!’ I was not having it. And the working women thing? It was a moment for me. I needed something else to believe in.” So her pastor told her that Spongebob is going from Bikini Bottom straight to the gates of hell? Uhhh, what church did she go to?
