Madonna Gives Props To ‘Glee’ Episode

Material Girl thinks one character in particular is ‘very cute.’ By Jocelyn Vena Madonna Photo: James Devaney/ WireImage Not only is Madonna excited to have her songs used in next week’s “Power of Madonna” episode of “Glee,” she is also apparently hot for teacher. “I think Mr. Schuester is very cute,” Madonna said in a statement, referring to Matthew Morrison, who plays the glee-club instructor on the hit Fox show. “And I’m glad he’s doing such a good job empowering all the girls.” In the episode, according to Fox, Mr. Schuester assigns the kids to sing Madonna songs because he thinks the girls have been mistreated by the boys. He wants them all to benefit from the girl-power messages in tracks like “Express Yourself.” “Like a Prayer,” “Like a Virgin” and “4 Minutes” are also covered in the episode. Following this Tuesday’s spring premiere of “Glee,” Fox aired a shot-by-shot reenactment of Madge’s iconic “Vogue” clip, starring Sue Sylvester (played by Jane Lynch), Mercedes (Amber Riley) and Kurt (Chris Colfer). Lynch told MTV News about how empowering she found it to cover Madonna. “Oh, yeah, the cone bra, the Gaultier bra, I wear that in one scene. And it’s the most powerful I’ve ever felt in my life,” she dished. “Well, you know what, I wore the cone bra with the track suit, so it worked. It was a win, win.” Which song are you most looking forward to seeing in the “Glee” Madonna episode? Tell us in the comments! Related Videos It’s The Return Of ‘Glee’! ‘Glee’ Cast Is Nervous, But Excited For Live Tour

‘We haven’t started rehearsals yet,’ admits Dianna Agron of live concerts. In Concert! tour just days after wrapping the season. But the castmembers seem so eager to perform live, they’re not complaining about the workload before their four-city jaunt, kicking off May 18 in Phoenix. “So, we wrap after the 26th of this month and then two days later we start our tour rehearsals,” Dijon Talton (Matt) explained to MTV News before “Glee” returned for the second half of its first season on Tuesday night. “Every day, Monday through Sunday, for a couple weeks, and then we go on tour for a couple weeks, four cities, I believe. They are mostly sold out, and then a month later, back to do 22 episodes of season two. So it’s kind of like no break, work, work, work. But we love it. We wouldn’t have it any other way!” Heather Morris, who plays Brittany, added that it’s going to be a bit of rush to get everything solid before they take the act on the road. “We haven’t started the rehearsals yet, but we will be starting them for only two weeks prior to the actual tour itself,” she said. “And it’s going to be really rigorous, ’cause we have to get a show together really fast. But we did the ‘Oprah’ show, and when we were done, it was like, ‘That’s exactly what it’s going to be like,’ and it was crazy.” Dianna Agron (Quinn) is excited but nervous. “We haven’t started rehearsals yet. I’m anticipating sore muscles, lots of bubble baths,” she said. But Cory Monteith (Finn) added that he’s been preparing: “I’m ready for it. I’ve been working out: bench presses, bicep curls.” The buildup of buzz for the show’s return from winter hiatus and their upcoming tour has Naya Rivera (Santana) pumped. “Such an adrenaline rush,” she said. “This is just tip of the iceberg of what we’re going to see when we’re on tour. And I cannot wait!” Mark Salling (Puck) emphasized that the tour is really about the fans. “We started rehearsals a little, but that’s going to be another great opportunity to get to the fans and give them a good show,” he teased. “I’m going to lip-sync my ass off for you.” Are you looking forward to the Glee Live! ‘Glee’ Premiere Recap: The Gleeks Say ‘Hell-O’

The hit show returns with a few surprises. Matthew Morrison and Lea Michele in Tuesday’s “Glee” Photo: Carin Baer/ Fox Ladies and gentlemen, “Glee” is back . And with it, the seemingly impossible task of living up to the already sky-high levels of hype leveled upon it during the show’s ultra-long hiatus. Well, you can rest easy knowing that in “Hell-O,” creator Ryan Murphy and his writers crafted a well-paced, clever episode of their Golden Globe-winning comedy that culminated in a musical number set to the Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye.” What’s changed at McKinley High since New Directions won regionals in December? Well, although Kurt, Mercedes and Rachel had hoped everything would be different, three slurpees to the face on their first day back proved otherwise. Sue Sylvester regained control of the Cheerios, thanks to a well-timed roofie that allowed her to take some very compromising photos of her in bed with Principal Figgins. (The track suit stayed on.) There were a few modifications to the school’s social hierarchy: The end of football season meant Finn’s now a basketball star. Puck started dating Quinn even though she was getting fat (“I’m pregnant,” she helpfully tried to explain). And thanks to Rachel’s take-charge attitude (and a cat-themed relationship calendar), the Finn/Rachel romance was now official. To her, at least. Sue enlisted Cheerio spies Brittany and Santana to help wreak havoc on New Directions by getting Finn to dump his new girlfriend. Since he was in the middle of a post-being-cheated-on life crisis (which he worked through by singing the Doors’ “Hello, I Love You”), he was eager to drop his domineering new girlfriend (who expressed her rage via the All-American Rejects’ “Give You Hell”) when Brittany and Santana asked him on a date. With both of them. It didn’t really go as Finn imagined, however, when the ladies spent the date gossiping about him as he sat on the other side of the restaurant booth. He realized his mistake and tried to get Rachel back, but it was too late — she’d already met someone else. Vocal Adrenaline star Jesse St. James, played by Lea Michele’s “Spring Awakening” co-star Jonathan Groff, picked Rachel up as she perused Lionel Richie sheet music at a local store. The hilariously cocky senior (“This is one of my favorite haunts. I like to come and flip through the celebrity biographies, pick up some lifestyle tips”) wooed Rachel with a duet on “Hello,” then asked her out. The rest of New Directions forced Rachel to break up with Jesse (thanks to another Sue Sylvester scheme) — but she couldn’t do it, and decided to date him in secret (Sue strikes again: “I am engorged with venom, and triumph”). When they sealed their new relationship with a kiss under the heat of Vocal Adrenaline’s 10-times-more-powerful-than-normal spotlight (sunscreen is required for use), VA’s director looked on with a knowing smile. While it’s unclear whether Shelby Corcoran, played by Broadway star Idina Menzel, truly was in on a nefarious plan to infiltrate New Directions, she embarked on her own McKinley affair when Mr. Schuester came to speak to her (as Vocal Adrenaline sang AC/DC’s “Highway to Hell”), only to wind up making out on his couch. Though she told him to call her back when he figured out what he wanted in a relationship, it was great to meet Will Schuester the player — finally, another side of the perpetual nice guy. The other women in Mr. Schu’s tangled romantic web, Terri and Emma, had a showdown when Terri stopped by to pick up her Bruckheimer DVDs as Emma prepared a surprise romantic dinner. While Emma thought “Hello” from “The Jazz Singer” was her and Will’s song, Terri informed the guidance counselor that it was her and Will’s junior prom theme, which Emma verified in that year’s Thunderclap yearbook. This revelation, combined with Emma’s admission that she’d never been intimate with anyone, ever, led her to give Will the same “Call me when you figure yourself out” message as Shelby. ‘Glee’ Cast Goes (Lady) Gaga At Spring Premiere Party

‘I can tell you I am not going to be wearing the crime scene tape,’ Cory Monteith joked about ‘Glee’ Lady Gaga episode. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Audrey Kim Dianna Agron and Cory Monteith at the “Glee” spring premiere Photo: Frank Micelotta/ Getty Images While fans are raving about the season premiere of “Glee” and the cast have even hinted at some relationship shakeups this time around, it was the upcoming Lady Gaga episode that had the cast talking at Monday’s premiere party in Los Angeles. “Her music and her influence on pop music right now, it’s so well expressed by ‘Glee.’ The way that that episode goes with Lady Gaga’s music is amazing,” actor Cory Monteith shared with MTV News. “We’re just in the midst of filming it right now and I can’t wait for you to see it. I can tell you I am not going to be wearing the crime scene tape.” Cast member Amber Riley revealed that the dancing will be pretty sweet in the episode. “We just did Gaga today,” she said. “We did one of the dance numbers today and I had so much fun. I didn’t want it to end.” Chris Colfer tweeted about getting the chance to wear Gaga’s signature sky-high heels, and pics of him dressed in a dress similar to the one that she wore in her “Bad Romance” video appeared on PerezHilton.com . He admits he’s lucky he didn’t get seriously injured. “Quite a process today dancing our Lady Gaga number in the 10-inch heels. But thankfully I didn’t injure myself, which is really surprising since I injure myself, like, standing up in rehearsals,” he joked. “So I’m very thankful I didn’t have to go to the ER again.” And Colfer wasn’t the only fellow who had trouble imitating Gaga. Kevin McHale explained, “The guys do their thing. Not all the guys can pull of Gaga. I can’t give anything away. We were filming some of the Gaga episode earlier today. It’s insane and the outfits are incredible and almost exactly true to the real Gaga outfits. I can’t wait for people to see it.” Co-star Naya Rivera summed up the Gaga episode this way: “Best episode we’ve ever shot, in my opinion,” she raved. “I’ve had so much fun. Our outfits are nuts. It’s so fun and the songs are so great. We all look great.” Are you looking forward to the Lady Gaga “Glee” episode? Tell us in the comments!
