Jenelle Evans Is a GREAT Mom! (Says Nathan Griffith’s Sister)

The news that Jenelle Evans and David Eason had regained custody of their kids hit Teen Mom 2 fans like a crushing blow to the temple. Actually, it would be more accurate to say that Jenelle and David regained custody of most of their kids, considering her son Jace and his son Kaden will continue to reside with more stable relatives. It would also be more accurate to say that former Teen Mom 2 fans were stunned by the news, as many vowed to never again support the series that made this appalling situation possible, even though Jenelle was fired from the show several months ago. Anyway, as when Donald Trump was elected president or the New England Patriots won yet another Super Bowl, reports of the judge’s ruling left many with the feeling that the bad guys had pulled off a surprise victory. But according to one person who’s very well-acquainted with Jenelle and her parenting style, the situation played out in the best way possible, and the Eason kids are back where they belong. Heather Griffith is the sister of Jenelle’s second baby daddy, Nathan Griffith, who was as stunned as everyone else when his son Kaiser was returned to The Land by a judge who had apparently been experimenting with LSD. Heather says she only really got to know Jenelle once the kids were taken away (?!), and she claims that the mother of her nephew has been misrepresented by the media and is actually a devoted parent (?!?!?) who deserves custody of her kids. “I think a lot of things have been exaggerated and blown out of proportion. I don’t see Jenelle as an unfit parent or someone that doesn’t love her kids,” Heather tells Hollywood Life . “I watch her go through this process, and she’s tried to remain so positive but she was just so sad.” Heather goes on to say that all the coverage of Jenelle’s arrests, accusations of neglect, and frequent substance abuse episodes are nothing more than fake news: “After getting to know her over the past few months — we recently became closer when the kids were taken away — I don’t see her as this horrible, vindictive person that she’s constantly being played out to be,” Heather says, “I think she is just constantly under attack and I don’t think that she’s unfit as a parent.” Nathan, of course, strongly disagrees, and he’ll continue to fight for custody of Kaiser in hearings that are set to begin next month. “I think just with her situation I would be more fit as a parent,” Nathan told TMZ earlier this week, adding that he believed Kaiser isn’t receiving proper “love and affection.” Heather says she supports Nathan in his fight for custody, but somehow, she’s also 100 percent #TeamJenelle these days. “I have talked to her pretty much ever since the kids were taken from her,” Heather tells Hollywood Life. “We check in with each other every day to make sure things are going well throughout the whole process.” In order to appreciate how weird this situation is, we encourage you to pause for a moment and imagine becoming besties with your sibling’s violent, abusive ex-fiance — but only after that person has her kids taken away following a scathing CPS investigation. ee”We’re building a friendship now. It’s hard because Nate’s my brother and I can never be in her corner, but I can referee and make sure she gets a fair fight. I see so much promise and potential in her,” says Heather. “She’s a go-getter; she’s doing what she has to support her family,” Nathan’s sister adds. “One thing I can say about her is that she totally respects the rules of not saying anything bad about my brother,” she continues. “She has never bashed my brother to me or said one bad thing [about him].” Well, to be honest, “rule-respecting go-getter” isn’t exactly the description that jumps to mind when we think about Jenelle Evans. But then again, maybe Heather Griffith knows much more about the former Teen Mom 2 star than we do. After all, they did grab lunch together during a custody hearing and now they send each other funny memes, or whatever. Dianna Williams A.K.A Coach D Designed Every Costume The Dancing Dolls Have Worn Since The Team Was Founded

Originally posted here:

Source: Will Sterling / Will Sterling Before the Dancing Dolls became reality TV stars with lavish costumes that shimmer when they buck, Dianna Williams (better known as Miss D) sketched their costumes in her living room. Under the guidance of a woman named Mrs. Pat, she learned about costume design and styling. And after a manufacturer would create her concepts, she’d go to work bedazzling them with her weapon of choice, a hot glue gun. “I designed every costume the Dancing Dolls have worn since the team was founded. I sat and drew the costumes. I decided where the cloth was going to go, where the sequins were going to go,” she said passionately during a candid chat. “Most people don’t know that for the first 14 years that the dancing dolls were around. I did the Dancing Doll uniforms all by hand. I did everything I needed to do for those girls costumes.” Miss D has always been obsessed with dolls and dollhouses. “I always used to make my dolls dance,” she revealed. Dianna started the Dancing Dolls when she was 21. She began coaching straight out of college with the support of her grandmother who owned a daycare — the Pied Piper Playhouse where the Dancing Dolls started. “She allowed me to have practice there. She allowed me to start the group there. She sewed their very first dancing uniforms.” When it came to getting uniforms, a dance company Jazzy Dancers was pivotal in clothing the girls. Mrs. Pat and Mr. Skip owned the only dance company in Jackson, Mississippi that sold costumes. “She told me what kind of boots I needed, what type of fish nets and tights to buy the girls because I had no clue.” Source: Stephen J. Cohen / Getty Inspired by Jacksonville University’s Prancing J-Settes collegiate dance team around the corner, it was important for the Dancing Dolls to look as professional as they moved. “I watched them. I seen what it is that they did. I wanted my girls to look like that. I patterned everything behind this upscale collegiate organization that was at a college I inspired to go to ever since I was a little girl. It didn’t matter that I didn’t make the team, I still wanted to make sure my girls had a prestigious look,” she explained. “I created the dancing dolls to give the kids to have something positive to do in our community. Living in Jackson, Mississippi, there’s not a lot to do there. I wanted to create something the kids could be proud of.” She later founded the Dollhouse Dance Factory, which became a pillar in the community. Much of their success can be attributed to Youtube, which has been a huge marketing tool for the Dancing Dolls. “I’ll never forget the user God’s First Dime, she was the first person to put together these videos of the Dancing Dolls. If you type in mini J-Settes you will find a bunch of old footage.” The Dancing Dolls were discovered after Madonna performed at the Super Bowl using the Southern University Dancing Dolls as her background dancers. “I’ll never forget, I got an e-mail and phone call from Pilgrim studios who wanted to do a reality show on the Dancing Dolls. I think they thought they were contacting them.” Hesitant it was a scam, Dianna didn’t immediately respond. “Come to find out they had done their research and realized that the Dancing Dolls that was on the Super Bowl were not the same Dancing Dolls they thought that had. They had Googled Dancing Dolls and my $2.99 GoDaddy website popped up.” But God makes no mistakes and upon further research, they discovered their Youtube videos. The DD4L brand has grown tremendously since then, branching off into several seasons of Bring It and a Bring It! Live Tour .  Source: Bryan Bedder / Getty “The Bring It! Live tour has been a way for us to engage with our fans on a more personal, live level. People watch the show and believe some of the tricks the girls do are just camera tricks but they’re not. Watching them perform on TV and not hearing the real music versus watching them live is a completely different feel. Being at a Bring It! Live show is like being at a rock concert. They’re standing, they’re screaming for their favorite doll.” And chances are, you’re favorite doll will be there. “We have a new crew going on the tour, but we also have old familiar faces. Kayla will be there. Everybody loves Kayla. Sunjai will be there this year. Kenjanae has always been a force, she’s that good, she’ll be there.” And there are some surprise dolls who will be on the tour, but it hasn’t been announced yet! Get tickets for the Bring It! Live tour, here . Bossip Exclusive: Shannon Sharpe Talks Inspiration To Join Home Depot’s Retool Your School Campaign, Gives $500,000 To 10 HBCU’s

Source: Nigel Degraff / Nigel Degraff Shannon Sharpe Talks Home Depot Retool Your School HBCU ‘s are the pride of Black academia in America and often times they are not as privileged to have the funding that other PWI’s do. Fortunately, companies like Home Depot are not only aware of that issue, but they’re willing to do something about it. Monday afternoon in Atlanta, Shannon Sharpe, Rickey Smiley, and Laz Alonso linked up with the good folks at Home Depot for the $500,000 giveaway finale of the company’s Retool Your School campaign. Source: Nigel Degraff / Nigel Degraff Nine HBCU’s were awarded $50,000 a piece to rejuvenate parts of the campus that are in need. In order to receive the money, each college had to come up with a campaign to tally the most votes from consumers and one school secured the bag with the first ever “Campaign of the Year Award”. BOSSIP got a chance to speak to Super Bowl Champion and NFL Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe at the event and got some insight on how he got involved and what his HBCU, Savannah State University, means to him: BOSSIP : How did you first get involved with Home Depot Retool Your School? Shannon Sharpe : Anytime it’s something to help historically Black college, I want to be involved. I went to an HBCU understand the economic hardships that a lot of these institutions face and Home Depot is doing a really good thing today. The Shannon Sharpe you see here was cultivated at Savannah from 1986-1989 I had some great professors and doctors who cared about me and help me find out about myself. This is my chance to pay Savannah State back and those professors who took time to instill wisdom and knowledge in me. I wish we could have a $20 million endowment like Harvard but this is a really good opportunity for myself, Rickey (Smiley) who went to Alabama State, to give back. I don’t think a lot of people realize that I went to an HBCU. Most times they assume if you went to the NFL or played professional sports that you went to Notre Dame or Michigan or Nebraska or something like that. BOSSIP : What advice would you give high school athletes who want to play professionally but are afraid that they won’t get the exposure at an HBCU that they would at a PWI? SS : When I went to Savannah State my college coach, Bill Davis, God rest his soul, told me “Son, if you’re good, they’ll find you.” Because I was gonna transfer to the University of Miami, but I believed I was that good. I believed the NFL would find me. I believed that once I got to the NFL I would show that my skill set was as good or better than all those guys. I’m a “prove it” type of guy, ok, you don’t have to believe me. Source: Nigel Degraff / Nigel Degraff None of this would be happening without Home Depot Senior Marketing Manager Melissa Brown. Her vision to make this campaign a success and her love of HBCUs has created an incredible opportunity for our beloved schools to look their best and represent themselves proudly. Special shout out to the Westlake High School marching band who pulled up to keep the packed auditorium entertained.

Marshawn Lynch Heading Towards Retirement According To League Sources

See the original post here:

Source: Patrick Smith / Getty Marshawn Lynch appears to be hanging up the cleats if developing reports are true. According to league sources, the Oakland Raiders running back isn’t planning to return to the field this coming season. ESPN reports : With the three-day NFL draft kicking off Thursday night in Nashville, Tennessee, the Raiders have one more potential need to address: running back. Minus Lynch, the Raiders’ backfield now will be left with backs such as Isaiah Crowell, Jalen Richard, DeAndre Washington and Chris Warren. Lynch, who turned 33 on Monday, plans to move on to the next phase of his life. Lynch’s stint with the Raiders had highs and lows, but “Beast Mode” continued to be entertaining and productive. Last season, he was tied for fifth in the AFC with 331 rushing yards through Week 5 when he suffered what eventually became a season-ending groin injury against the Seattle Seahawks, his former team, in London. Hopefully, we’ll see more of Beast Mode from the sidelines and in commercials for years to come. — Photo: Getty

Mo Money: Travis Scott Ordered To Pay Almost $400,000 Over Cancelled Show In Minneapolis

Source: Emma McIntyre / Getty Travis Scott To Pay Almost $400K Over Cancelled Gig No matter how much money you have, having to pay $400K is never a good time–and Travis Scott is about to learn that first hand. A jury recently ordered that the ASTROWORLD rapper to pay nearly $400,000 to PJAM, the Minneapolis promotion company that sued Scott over a missed Super Bowl gig last year. The plaintiffs claimed they had paid the Houston artist $150,000 upfront as well as $10,000 to his booking agent. They also provided him with a private jet and covered the show’s promotional costs–but hours before the show, his team informed PJAM that he had to cancel. The rapper’s team was citing weather conditions and logistics for his absence, while the company claims Scott simply “refused to show up to the event.” For the record, Travis Scott had actually booked two different shows on the night of Feb. 3: There was the canceled gig in Minneapolis, and another one in  Las Vegas, which he did end up performing at. According to the lawsuit, PJAM demanded that Travis return the $150,000 plus damages. The rapper counter-sued the company in April 2018, claiming they never confirmed his travel plans and owed him $50,000 for the deal. He also accused the company of violating a confidentiality agreement by speaking to the press. In the end, the jury rewarded PJAM with $382,932.79 in the case. “The jury verdict of $383k is disappointing, but far less than the seven figure demands made by the promoters,” King told TMZ . “We believe the verdict will be substantially reduced or overturned in subsequent proceedings.” Luckily for Travis,he made some serious cash on tour this last year, so this money shouldn’t put too much of a dent in his pocket.

Yes, 2005’s The Cookbook was Missy’s last effort, the album that gave us “Lose Control” and put a bow on a six-album run of dominance in terms of creativity visually and sonically. These days, it’s kind of taboo to talk about eating a Big Mac while all your peers are ranting about a new vegan macaroni dish they just made. Mickey D’s is obviously aware of the shift. So much so that they’ve recently launched their own Vegan ‘Chicken’ Nuggets. A spokesperson for the famous restaurant chain told Today , “The new chicken-free McNuggets are made with a mashed potato base, which is mixed with chickpeas, onions, carrots and corn. They’re coated in breadcrumbs, then fried until crispy. The vegan option is the latest in a series of vegetarian-friendly releases from the golden arches but, for now, they’re only available in Norway.” The news comes just two months after McDonald’s announced their new Vegan Happy Meal and Mcfalafel.
